LOOONNNGGG day,

I'm planning a surprise party for DH on Friday, his birthday. Its so much work! Never done one before...never gonna do another one again! ugh.

Everyone is sleeping. I LOVE this time of night. The house to myself. Quiet. Nice.

My cat had kittens last night. Only 2 of them! They look like rats. Anyone want a rat?! :D I swear. She like meowed once and pushed the darn things out. lol. I was jealous :D

Today was another busy random day. I don't do well eating with that kind. I did my best.

Break: 1 slice ez bread, 1 scoop whey, 1 c soy milk
lunch: 1 large lc ww tortilla, 1 can tuna, lettuce, 2 T ff sr cream (I do this instead of mayo), 1 random T of peanut butter.
snack: 1 fit n light creamy yogurt
dinner: mimi's cafe: blackened chicken salad with 1/4 c shreaded parm cheese and no dressing.
Snack: I dunno but I'm starved

I did measurements today too since I can't get to the gym early enough to do my bf lately. I did them in the afternoon. not sure if that matters

neck: 13"
chest: a bit over 35"
waist: 29"
hips: 35"
rt thigh: 22.5
rt arm: slightly over 12"
Today I was 132 still...darn water.

I swear by measuring myself in the morning, but I think that's just my own crazy idea...no real backing to that:) .

Does your gym use one of those body fat scales, a skin fold caliper, or something else? I'm excited that the campus exercise phys lab is installing a water tank for the hydrostatic weighing, but I have no idea when that'll be up and running.

And good luck on the surprise b-day party:) ! I swear that when I was in high school, everyone had a surprise party, every year (except me:mad: ) and all the nitpicky organization was pretty tedious.
 
my gym has the bioempadance hand held thingy, calipers and we have hydro weighing nearby...for a fee, of course ;) I've done all of them recently and they are all very similar readings, which I guess isn't the norm?
the highest one was the bioempadance (btw, not sure if I'm even spelling that right!) and it was 16%.

I know, high school was prime ground for surprise parties! My husband HATES his birthday because as a kid he had some negative experiences with it. He'd rather just skip it. I know he'll like this though and hopefully will be VERY surprised.

legs: leg press, alt leg on leg press, ham curl, calf raise, walking lunges (still kicks my butt)
swim 45 min
1300-1400 loose cals
blah blah blah. I always get to Wed and feel so tired and beat from my workouts....I know my bf has gone down. I can really tell lately. I'm hoping to go to the gym early and test it tomorrow...early comes...
well...

I went early to the gym just do do my body fat and some weights. no cardio today.
gym: shoulders/chest
break: 1.5 c soy milk, 1/2 c shreaded wheat, 1 scoop whey
lunch: chevys: chick ceasar salad, a TON of salsa and 4 chips, water
snack: left over lean ground chicken and marinara sauce
dinner: tuna mixed with ff sr cream (sounds gross but its not bad) and relish, 3 c salad
too much salt today I feel so bloated even though I really didnt' eat too much
My body fat said 16.0 but I had eaten and had stuff to drink. Not sure if that makes a difference. It was bio-thingy, hand held.
I'm back into 130 praise the LORD.

My body is still really thrashed feeling. I was pretty strong today but it took a lot out of me just do do weights. I'm able to use 25lb dumbells on my shoulder presses now and I'm benching 20 pounds more too so thats neat.

Wow, I've been having massive insomnia every night for a while now. Is that a possible overtraining thing? my body is not the problem. Its SO tired. My BRAIN will not shut off. I sometimes wish I were a man. They seem to just be able to curl up in their cave and tune it all out whenever they want to. Plus, they can sleep ANYwhere?! whats up with that!

they are very...um...cute....yeah cute.

I have another interesting thing happening. I feel like my joints are getting all weird. My wrists hurt like they have joint issues and my shoulders feel tight and creaky. today my knee locked up when I got up from sitting. Whats all THAT? and what helps cramps? (no not pms, I'm a pro in that dept). I mean I get muscle cramps a lot lately. especially on leg day when i do calves or swim that day. I'm stretching and stuff but its not helping and I just feel feable in a way as far as that joint stuff goes. I have to be careful with myself because sudden moves make things hurt! Like right this minute to type, my wrists both hurt on the side by the pinkie, the pain will go all the way up my forearm.

anyway...whatever, maybe I'm just getting OLDDDDD. lol.
My DH turns 29 tomorrow. yes, we are so old. hahahaha. seriously, with all these kidlings I sometimes feel more ancient than I need to. Plus, yes, I drive a mini van. OH LORD I said it, a minivan. I used to get to drive the midnight blue expedition, and could feel pretty trendy in that....but my husband took it for himself...and stuffed me in the van. And since we are on the topic and I know whats going through your head. Yeah, I'm a soccer mom too. Its a cryin' shame.

Actually, I'm proud to be the soccer mom. I think its different if your kids are the "wanna be" type soccer players who do it cause thats what you do as a kid....and moms have them in soccer..cause thats what you do as a mom (ESPECIALLY if you already own the minivan :) ) My daughter is that type. She really doesn't like it much and isn't all that great but she does it to be social-she's a GIRL, duh. Social is in our DNA.
but my son has been drop kicking balls since he was 2 and he is GOOD. he just turned 5 and he is amazing. So thats cool.

Well I obviously have nothing to really say so I should go.
Tomorrow is FRIDAY and I'm so HAPPY about that. I'll do cardio only tomorrow..if I can get myself there and then take the weekend off...well, at least Saturday off.

NO cheats this weekend if I can help it. I've been too lax as it is this week. it'll be hard to resist that birthday cake. Its CHEESECAKE. mmmmm

On the cramps, I don't know what to tell you. Tell DH happy birthday. He's two years older than me. The cheesecake does sound good. Just have a little sliver, enough to taste it.

hey, why don't you do this: for a week, do not PUSH yourself to that all mighty endorphin kingdom in the sky lol. Just do moderate type stuff, and THEN sit in the tub in warm water..or hot tub is better yet and let your joints get a rest like that. Also , what kind of shoes are you wearing most of the time? See for about 4 months I had to 'take it easy' on my knee...oh did it SUCK! But now! I don't even feel like I have a knee lol. Its just a knee. Thats all thank you and good night...*bows*

But no really, you should do that. Take it EASY dammit! You are like me, you like to push yourself so you'll feel all great about it later on. You like to progress in stuff. But if you're joints are hurting....eeek! thats scary take it easy
 
I second that. Yes, sliver is a funny word, but I would go for it if I wanted the cake and trust me, I'm flying to where you live sparrow and having some. Set an extra place for me. It sounds so damn good.

ok ok yeah I know.

Well today sort of comfirmed it. I went to the gym...to do my cardio duty. I so didn't want to and I only did the eliptical for 45 min...and went home. but in that 45 min I spent half of it just trying not to be bothered by back pain and weird pains everywhere. I felt like I was going to puke. I thought "maybe its water" so I downed my bottle of water. I eventually just got off..haha after 45 minutes.
So on the way home i thought "man i never just take a week off, I hardly even take days off I wonder if that would be a good thing" so next week I'm not doing ANY weights at all. I'll do very low key cardio like take walks and enjoy myself OUTSIDE and swim with my kids and stuff but thats it. I'll just keep my cals around 1300 and after one high carb day I'll keep lower carb and i bet I'll feel way better after the week. I totally feel puffy too and I always get like that when I overtrain. my muscles are retaining water cause they're hurt :(
its weird that when I don't work out I actually feel like I look better. I once went 6 whole months without exercise (first time...and hopefully last time EVER) because we lived in a little tiny town in the middle of NOwhere and it was scary to go out and walk or run. I got very thin looking. My weight was the same but I was scrawny. haha. I hardly look scrawny now.

ok so a week off...kinda sounds nice eh? :D Maybe I'll just decide to do that 2 times a year or something.

She... you're so funny. Cheesecake isn't really my thing but this one from Costco is AMAZING and very rich. I'm putting strawberry topping on it too. mmmm not sure If I'll have any. Its not really sounding too great right now. its like 110 outside. YUCK. I think I might just make a big protein shake and put it in my big water bottle and sip on that as everyone is pigging out on nasty hotdogs and chips and crap. yuck. so unappealing...but these are kids...they eat everything, and at anytime. do you remember that??? wow, those were the days... :)
 
Aches and pains and insomnia....sounds like you're overtrained! How about taking a week or so break from your workouts and just resting?

Oh isn't that funny. I typed that and then scrolled down and saw where you said you are thinking of taking a week off. Haha!

I understand that. That's why on cheat days, I try not to go overboard.
