Slim Col's diary

Hi Sheryl!

Not good news I'm afraid. It was my 29th birthday on the 1st of August and several days prior to it and after I found the excuse to stop exercising and start eating and drinking mucho calories. It's amazing how the slightest reason will serve as an excuse to slip back into your old ways...

Still, I'm going to get back with the program within the next week or so. My weight loss was so rapid that I'd be a fool not to!

~Colin

I wondered what happened to you! :D Happy belated B-day! Don't worry about falling off track... the most important thing is you're back on the site.. and with a vengence! Muahahaaa...

-Sheryl

Well, I'm back in the game :D

Just now - and for the first time in 6 weeks - I got on the exercise bike and peddled-away for 40 minutes. Every morning for the past 4 weeks I've been waking up and thinking to myself "I can't be bothered to do it today... But I'll DEFINITELY do it tomorrow"

And then tomorrow comes and... Nope!

I guess that's a lesson in human psychology; it's best to do it today, even if you don't feel like it. ;)

Oddly enough I haven't gained any weight in the past 6 weeks despite a relatively heavy food and booze intake. If anything I've actually lost a couple of pounds which is great because I was terrified I'd gained loads of weight. I guess channel-hopping burns more calories than you'd think! :D

Well I'll be damned... It's Col! Hey you... well congrats for maintaining your weight during that 6 week "vacation time." HA! Welcome back. Now don't go disappearing this time around or we'll have to find you and tie you down. Kinkkkyyyyy... haha jk :hug2:

-Sheryl

Hey Colin,

Its great to see you back in the game. Its a awesome that you maintained. Sometimes we need a break...

Damn Sheryl... gotta bring the Kinyness everyone... I'll be there with her tying you down ;) :rotflmao:

Thanks guys, it's great to be back. :)

Hey, everyone's partial to a bit of kinkiness. Just remember to bring a car-jack to lift up my stomach, ha! :rotflmao:

Weighed-in this morning and appeared to have lost a pound already. Then again, lean far back enough on the scales and you can instantly lose another several pounds! Isn't technology amazing!

Congrats on the 1 pound....1 fewer pounds we'll have to jack up LOL =0)

Technology is a wonderful thing... that's why I marked on my scale exactly where to stand LOL

Hope everything is going well!

YIPPEEEEE :D:D:D:D:D:D

I've lost 5lbs in the past 4 days!

How the f*ck I'm doing it I couldn't tell you. I'm consuming about 1500 calories a day and doing 16-20km on the exercise bike. Other than that I'm completely sedentary. I can't understand how I'm losing roughly a pound a day. In order to do so my daily calorie intake/expenditure deficit should be 3500 calories; that's approximately how many there are in 1lb of fat.

It makes no sense to be losing weight that fast. I've got half a mind to book an appointment with my GP.

Anyway, I'm not complaining. At this rate I'll be down to 11.5 stone in 6 weeks! And there was me thinking it was going to take 6-12 months...

:beerchug::jump::D

Just weighed myself, like I do every morning before eating, and I've lost another pound. Now I'm exactly fourteen and a half stone. Only another three to go, that's six weeks at this rate. Is that medically possible?

Hey hey Col Doll!

Congrats with the weight loss, hun! woot woot! Hmmm.... I have to say... that's some major weight dropping. Is there a possibility that you were retaining a lot of water? (ie: went on a salty food eating binge?) Hmmm... this may sound a bit weird, but have you been pissing like a race horse? (I ask, because I care. hahaaa!) Anyways.... just keep an eye on that, because you don't want to go losing all too quickly, because your chances of gaining it back are high. (Not only that... watch for medical issues... )

-Sheryl :hug2:

Hey Sheryl,

What medical issues could result from rapid weight-loss? I don't feel unhealthy, in fact I feel better than I have done for a long time.

I usually pee like a racehorse because I drink about 2-4 litres of water a day and have done for years, even before I was overweight. My diet isn't particularly salty although I do use vegetable bouillon (stock powder) with most meals, from stir-fries to soups. I think that's quite high in salt.

I'm pretty freaking depressed today. I weighed-in this morning at 202lbs which means I've only lost a pound in the past six days. I was expecting to lose a lot more considering that last week I was losing an average of a pound per day. I've been doing the same routine as last week; 40-60 minutes every day on the exercise bike and eating no more than 1500 calories. I just can't understand the disparity.

Oh well, time to get my nose back to the grindstone; stick to the program and the weight will come off!

...Hopefully.

Look at it from your body's perspective.... you're losing almost a pound a day last week. Your body suddenly realizes and decides to hold on to what it can. Hence... the sudden 1 pound a week. If anything, you already know 1-2lbs per week is the safest. You know for weighing 200lbs and eating only 1500 cals that's pretty steep, Col. If your weight doesn't change by next week, there's a possibility you may have hit a plateau due to starvation mode. Hmmm.... just a few ideas. Don't be down on yourself though.. just ride it out for a week and see how things go. As always.. wishing you a great day, doll...

-Sheryl

You're right, I'll wait another week and see how it goes. I hope the rapid loss kicks-in again soon because I'm meeting my mother in early November and I want to look my best.

You say 1500 calories isn't a lot. However, I'm eating 2 biggish, healthy meals a day and several pieces of fruit. I feel perfectly healthy and I'm not worried at all. I've got an appointment with my doctor soon for a checkup, just to make sure.

Thanks for the advice Sheryl. You have a great day too! :beerchug:

Had a bit of a relapse this weekend.

I invited a friend over for dinner on Friday evening and he brought several cans of cider with him. I've been trying really hard to stay off the booze lately; I've always had a soft-spot for it. Unfortunately he offered me a can and I thought "Why not? Here I am slaving over this stove, after all." :beerchug:

Well, one can turned into 21 cans and bottles of beer + cider, amounting to a whopping 3500 calories of booze being consumed in under 24 hours! As a result of the drinking session and the resultant hangover I haven't done my daily exercise for three days. And I've been eating more food than usual because the alcohol increases my stomach acid which makes me feel more hungry.

All this hassle just because of one can of strongbow. Honestly...

Anyway, from tomorrow I'm getting back with the program; 161 pounds is getting so close now I can almost reach out and touch it! I haven't weighed that much since I was 18. I can't wait! :jump:

Holy shit! 21 cans of beer and cider??? OMG. hahaaaa!! If that was me, I'd probably have to get my stomach pumped due to alcohol poisoning. Freaking men and their awesome super powers of being able to drink that much. hahaa!! It's alright, doll.... it's time to buckle down and get that bum into gear. I have all faith in you, Colin. You've been doing so well, so a few days won't be a problem at all.

Cheers, Col doll!

Thanks for the love MGB! :)

21 drinks is a lot but it wasn't in one go. Still, 3500 calories in one day IS a lot; that's a WHOLE pound of fat! That's like 4 hours on the exercise bike. Fuck that! lol:rotflmao:

Was that a recent pic? You look freaking great hun! I can't wait to see some pics of when you hit your target. I'll post some pics of myself once I make a little more progress. ;)

Mucho respect,

~Colin

haha! That first paragraph made me laugh hard! I loved the "fuck that" part! hahaaaaa!! Hey I see it this way, at least you realize how much work it would take to burn off as many calories as you listed. That means you're learning and making this part of your lifestyle. woohoo Col! That definitely deserves rep, my dear. :D GREEN 4 U!

As for the pic... yah.. that was Saturday, doll. I was happily enjoying myself a beer or 10. hahaaa! And thank you... My goal weight is 140 or so, but we'll see... I'm just interested in a look as opposed to an actual number on a scale, you know? As for yourself... what weight are you now and what's the "goal weight?"

-Sheryl

I was wondering about the 'rep' thing. For ages I was on zero and thinking "I can't be that much of a bad guy..."

... And now I've got a load, so thanks for that Sheryl! :)

I'm kinda interested to know how I got 68 rep in 1 rating?... You clicked the scales, right?

In answer to your question, my present weight is 200lbs and the target is 161lbs. However, like you say, it's more about the way I look rather than a number on a scale. As soon as I lose the beer-belly and man-boobs I'll be happy! Once I get there I'm going to start doing a bit of weight lifting so my overall weight will probably rise again... But in a good way! :D

As for 140lbs, I guess that will make you a size 8 or thereabouts? How long do you think it'll take you to get there? I remember something you said along the lines of 'losing the weight properly is better than losing it quickly'. Well, judging by how you've been doing thus far I'm certain you'll achieve both!
