Skyler's new diary

Morning Skyler daaahling. :) Hope all is going well for you!!! We gotta pounce on Paula one of these days!

hey kate - oh my goodness, i go through phases but i hear ya with the 'chickened out'. it is a joke in my house that i feel like i am going to turn into one! too much poultry!! i even didnt eat it for 3 yrs b/c i couldnt and then one day, i tried it again. funny how that happens.

MJ- I LOVE Pilates, but I've been doing it for a while. I use the reformers (machines) and am at an intermediate/advanced level. It is mostly strength training, no so much cardio but you do sweat some. If you are interested, I'd start slow with the mat classes that gyms offer and see if you like it. It takes a little while to get used to it but it is really great for your core, mind/body exercise, and i am definitely stronger from it. When i first started however, it took something like 8 classes until i really understood the advantages and the importance of form and balance. It is my favorite exercise for sure!

NL- I know! I was thinking about Paula again today..she must be so busy...we need our possy back in action! :)

NTL - evening was good last night. you can say i am off paulas diet this week b/c it is blown with my future mother in law in town but yesterday worked out okay. i had a greek salad for lunch and then my FH (who is a chef) cooked dinner at home which was nice. I was able to go to pilates and come back and then have steak (mmm), asparagus, very little sweet potato and WINE (you all see my downfall here). BUT, even though most calories came in in the evening which I know is NOT Good, i still came in totalling 1100 for the day so i am satisfied with that.

I gotta tell you, I am psyched for monday to get back on track officially and have a good solid two weeks. My FH is working at nights all week which gives me some leeway in terms of exercising times and eating different (for me only) and then the week after, he will be out west skiing so i will hopefully have two weeks of good solid performance in the food/exercise category and get some lbs off before i go away the weekend of March 17th.

Cool, sounds like you have a great plan for next two weeks! Skiing out west - I'm jealous! Hubby and I always wanted to fly out there to ski. Our plan was to get better this year, and then go to Colorado or Utah next year, but I'm not sure that's going to work, because we went skiing only twice this year, so did not get to improve that much. My hubby can ski pretty much everything, but I'm doing only greens and blues. I want to be able to ski blacks before going out west, so we can both enjoy it together.

Have a good weekend. Try to enjoy yourself with your family, and don't beat yourself up too much if diet thing is not working out this weekend. I know you'll do great, plus you'll have 2 whole weeks to do dieting full throttle!

thanks ntl. you are absolutely right. i am actually excited for a monday and to get back on track and be good and lose some weight. i'm motivated. this week was totally nuts and SO busy and hectic, I am ready for a 'normal' one and hopefully a weight loss involved.

yesterday was my shower which was really nice. the food was all pretty healthy other than the peanut m*m's (yikes!) ....salmon, chicken salad, spinach salad...the wine was overboard but i am just getting revved up for my two weeks of really focusing on myself ! :D

hey i just blew it over the weekend, but I knew I was going to, and my sister and I had SO much fun! Im also really glad its monday and time to get on track! Im ready!

wooohooooooo ok its magic monday lets get on the wagon and rock them scales!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you, Red & Kate. Magic Monday it is. Get out that weight loss fairy dust and get ready for the exercising b/c NO EXCUSES FOR ME THE NEXT TWO WEEKS...no chance!

I was exhausted from my busy week/weekend so I let myself sleep thsi am and will get in my workout this afternoon, post-work.

Back to Paula's diet and lots of WATER!!!!!!!!!

S

Wohooooooo That Is What I Wanted To Hear You Go Girlfriend!!

thank you...

so far today:
2 hard boiled eggs / 1 yogurt smoothie (70 cal/4 gr carb)
1 can tuna / 130 cal worth of oat thin crackers

I've been HORRIBLE on the water...
better get drinkin' it - i'm totally behind!!!! And, i need to be hydrated b/c i am planning on 1 hr on the elliptical (hopefully) and upper body strength exercises when ever i get home...

All right Skyler, you're doing great! Hey, that's the first day of your 2-week diet/exercise all the way! Whoo-hoo! I know you'll kick butt on this one!

Your plan sounds good.

Hmm Skyler, are you in a situation, where you can require yourself to drink 20oz every time you eat a meal or have a snack? The way I get my water in is that int he mornings I hit the gym early, and bring my 32oz water bottle. Then I proceed to drink 20 oz on the way to my office on the drive in (45 minutes). Then I make sure I drink another 20oz while at the office if not 40oz. Then at least another 20 or 32oz jug when I get home. Its sort of like my "requirements" for the day.. LikeI won't let myself have any coffee until I've had a 20oz bottle of water. :D Hope this helps ya out... :)

funny you say that, NL, as I USED to do that and it was very helpful. Make sure that I have my 32 oz bottle BEFORE i can eat lunch or something like that and then make sure I have a second one with my workout, but I havent done that in a while. I should and I think I will try again as it is so important to get that water in! thanks.

You better get that water in missy!!! Its as vital as my stretching. So don't you make me come down there!!! err up there..wherever you are.. ;)

Geez, I have been MIA for too long! Looks like you're doing great though! Things are getting to be less hectic at the salon so I should be able to check in on you everyday again. I'm starting Isagenix tomorrow and posting my beginning stats later today so be sure to check in on my progress. Let me know if you need anything. :)

hopefully you are right, paula, as since my mother in law has been in town, the calories have been high and she stayed in our guest room where the scale lives...soooo, i havent been on it in 1 1/2 weeks. i want to, but i think i need a few days of being PERFECT before i try to set myself up for disappointment. we'll see....i dont have to lose on thursday but sure dont want to gain!!!!

Don't beat yourself up Sarah. Even if you did gain, it's hard to diet and do wedding plans and showers and...
You'll get back on track and YOU WILL lose that last little bit of weight before the wedding! I have faith in you and NOW I WILL MAKE SURE I'M CHECKING IN ON YOU EVERYDAY! ;)

I know. I know. I think I am PMSing on top of thinking too much of my past week. but I refuse to beat myself up over parties thrown for me! how often does that happen?!! not very , in my world!!

going to go home and hit elliptical/weights/stretch and have salad with shrimp, i think for dinner...lots of veggies in the fridge that need to be eaten before they go bad!
