Skyler's new diary

Hey ya Skyler :) You did great by only having a little king cake and getting the rest out of the house! For the coming week, like NTL, I'd say eat light and exercise your butt off any chance you get. Suck down the h2o, too :D Hope all goes well for ya and you enjoy your busy week. Keep up the great work (wow! ONLY 10 MORE TO GO!!!) :D

thanks for the advice NTL and Cassie...It will be a rough week but I'm off to a good start.

Got up at 5.30am and hit the elliptical for 45 minutes and did 20 minutes of upper body weights (supersets), haev 32 oz of water done! (another plus if you can get your butt out of bed in the morning, i have found) and had 1/2 cup cottage cheese and lite yogurt for breakfast. lunch: can of plain tuna and 130 calories of wheat crackers (oat thins).

if anybody else has suggestions to help get through this week, my ears are open!!!! should i exercise twice in a day? I dont know if i have time, but maybe that will help?

as for the buffets, i agree with you , NTL, I have to steer clear or else i'm in TROUBLE!! ;)

Have a good one,
s

Hey Skyler! :) Sorry my weekend demise has caused me to skip out on journals! So I'm back today. Looking at this next week for you, I say, do your best to chose wisely frmo the menu options. I know sometimes that is tough, and it may only be "salads" or "soups" for your healthier selections. And sip that wine slowly in hopes to avoid too many refills! :D Again I'd load up on veggies, try to steer towards the Paula type diet as much as you can. Avoid starchy carbs that kind of thing. :) Or think protein protein! :) Besides, this is a good test for maintaining your goal weight! :D You'll be just fine. Water, Water is always a good key too!! Good luck girl!! :)

Ok Skyler Girl You Can Do This I Am Back! So Jump On This Wagon And Lets Rock Them Scales!

Its what Im trying to do! Now that my weight is 'normalizing' again, I really dont care to waste time getting closer to that goal! But mostly because I know Im going to cheat BAD this weekend! Its my official reward for losing those first 20...But not sure Ill make two workouts today or not. Kids are home, and bigger ones are off doin stuff, and I havent even gotten the FIRST one out of the way..H is gone on a call, so here I sit.

So I am still gonna try to get 5-6 miles a day in just for this week to see how I do. It sure speeds things up on my end!

Hello Skyler! Looks like you are off to a great start today! Working out twice a day? whoo hoo! Let me know if you try that. I think I'd fall apart. lol

Keep up the great work! You are doing amazing!

well, MJ, no i decided against working out twice. i had such a full workout this morning, i am already starting to feel my arms so i am going to clean the house (which is a workout in itself) and do some yoga :). thanks for stopping by..

thanks NTL - i'm thinking that will be my only saving grace is to try and get out of bed mon/tues/wed for workouts at 5.30am (wish me luck!!!)

Up at 5:30 am to work out?? You are a better person than I! I can never motivate myself to wake up any earlier than I have to. Right now I get up at 6:20 to get the kids ready for school. The big baby I am , I have to set the clock for 6:00 just so I can hit the snooze twice!

Good for you! If I could motivate myself to get up an hour earlier...who knows how much more I could accomplish! (An extra load of laundry at the very least) :) Keep up the great work!!!

Good for you, Skyler! You can do it! I get up 5:30 every day so I can make it to work by 7 to beat the traffic. Unfortunately, I cannot get up any earlier, so for me doing anything then a 10-15 minute workout in the morning is a big stretch. I used to enjoy morning workouts when I did not have to go in to work before 9 am. Those were the days.

If you're feeling your arms already, let them rest. Yoga and stretching is a good idea.

Mornin' Skyler :D Hope things are going well - they certainly sound like you got a fantastic start to the week. Great job - keep it goin' and have a wonderful day :D

Ok Skyler Hun Lets Rock Them Scales Again I Know You Can Do It So Keep Up The Good Work And stay Focused Summer Is Around The Corner!!!!!

Good Morning hun! :) Hope you are doing well this week. I know it was going to be a challenge..
Thanks for your sweet comments in my diary. So appreciated! :D

thank you everyone.

last night was good. ended up cleaning the house which seemed like exercise in itself, and did some yoga. dinner was broiled chicken breast & broccoli (boring, yes, but oh well).

this morning, i got out of bed and got in some exercise. not as much as i would have liked as i hit snooze a few too many times but still got 35 minutes on the elliptical.

breakfast: cottage cheese & yogurt

i'll update later.

thanks!!!

lunch: can of tuna and some crackers

i've been thirsty today! 60 oz done already. i think cuz i am hungry today and trying to curb it with water! :)

Skyler, are you eating a can of tuna every day for lunch, or do you substitute with other meats/fish/dishes? I'm just curious...

hey NTL- every day for lunch since last week.

tues/wed./thurs/friday then monday/tuesday so far this week

weekends off

hey Skyler.. I'm doing the same food diet as you. So I am curious that you're taking weekends off, what exactly do you eat over the weekends? Its hard to stay on the same eating habits partly because weekeneds my FH and I tend to be out and about, visiting relatives or wedding planning etc. Just wondering! :)

Btw, I find the tuna and crackers make me REAL thirsty!! :)

i'm trying to stay within a healthy calorie range over the weekends, as I have the same issues that I am out and about running errands and going out to eat wtih my FH.

this might sounds NUTS, but i try to pretend that i am in 'maintenance mode' and practice like i am there. so, choose foods like salads, fish & veggies, turkey sandwhich (wheat) - it is more calorie counting than anything else. my biggest problem on the weekends is that we tend to go out and drink alcohol which adds up all those empty calories, BUT i'm finding on paula's diet, i am taking in less during the week and can take in more on the weekends (hopefully!!)...i read an article on "zigzagging" your food/calorie intake to keep your metabolism guessing and i am assuming that is why paula says to have 'cheat days or weekends' so that we dont get into a rut.

example saturday or sunday: a good one ;): i do still try to keep carbs in the morning so bagel or eggs & toast or oatmeal, lunch is usually salad with protein of some sort or healthy sandwich, dinner tends to be out so i go for fish with veggies or some other protein with as little carbs as possible, then throw in a couple glasses of wine and whoop, the calories are there for the day!!

my weekends havent been great due to cake tastings, etc., but that is my plan if i ever get around to doing it..

this saturday is my shower but luckily there will be lots of salads and stuff like that...and wine, of course! :O

dont know if my rambling helps but it is more of trying to be in that 'maintenance lifestyle change' over the weekends and strict during the week.

NL, have you found any good dinner suggestions while following paula's plan?? my FH sure wont eat cottage cheese and lettuce ;).
