sheidi's food and weightloss diary :)

Hey Team mate!

You're doing a good job! How's that Special K cereal? I've never tried it, but always wonder if it really helps you lose weight.

Your food looked so good today. Mmm I love prawns & salmon!

hey missjb :) thanks, and special k is just a nice reasonably healthy cereal. its supposed to be helpful when dieting, but only if you exercise and eat right anyway - no secrets! i like it sometimes..

hi tru - thanks for that :)

so, todays food..

b: special k with skim milk

l: i made a quesadilla (i think that's what its called) - two tortillas, in the middle some left over chilli (beans, no meat) and ww cheese. i grilled it and it was really good.

d: this sounds a bit dumb, but i cut up a sweet potato into wedges and had that. i used a little bit of olive oil (which the pussy cat knocked over all over the floor) and a little bit of salt. yum, but i wasn't overly hungry so i thought that was enough.

3 ltrs water, coffee, tea

exercise - one hour of step class, i am still tired!

hi all - better post yesterday's food before i forget..

b: special k with skim milk

l: quarter of a rockmelon

d: chinese food out, but small portion (lamb, tofu, veggies, boiled rice)

3 ltrs water, coffee, tea, one diet coke and lots of wine (went out and had a bit to drink, lots of fun but i didn't get to bed until 6am, then we got up at 9:30am - i feel sooo tired!)

exercise - step class. this one was the hardest i've done so far, i think they made a mistake and had too many steps! i can really feel it today

sunday - recovery day

brunch - went down to our friends' restaurant just near my house this morning and my friend from last night made us omelettes with eggs, ham, mushrooms, cheese and a couple of muffins i think. i just ate some of the omelette, not much though, felt way too seedy

d: just fell asleep on the couch..my son woke me up asking for food (he'd already had dinner). so i thought i'd better eat something..i had two slices of soylin bread toasted with a small amount of butter and vegemite

drinks - heaps of water today, plus much needed coffees

snacks - a few mentos lollies on the three hour car trip

no exercise..

hi skinnykate - yes, i'd rather not need such days, but i must admit the night before was worth it :D

..i needed the mentos to keep me awake for my journey - definitely won't drive when tired again!

so today - monday 30 january

b: scrambled eggs, one and a half slices of soylin bread toasted with vegemite

l: took my son to the pancake parlour - i ordered a spinach and feta crepe, but got a ham and cheese one instead - i ate it anyway (didn't want to wait another half an hour!) and some side salad. it was quite small so i think its probably okay. was in a bad mood all afternoon though, which i attribute to the white food!

d: stir fried veggies with some chicken and udon noodles (home made and small portion). no fat yoghurt

drinks - 3 ltrs water, coffee, 1 cordial

exercise - another step class, really really hard again! glad i went..
i also bought a push mower today and spent nearly an hour mowing some of my lawn (after having first assembled the darn thing)

another day...

had my niece today, what a doll she is. only 7 and she loves the art gallery, so we went there, it was nice :) only downfall - i made chocolate chip cookies for her and my kids and of course i ate two - bugger

b: ww cereal with skim milk

l: scrambled eggs and baked beans

d: spaghetti bol (ok portion)

snack: dumb cookies

drinks - 3 ltrs water, coffee, tea

exercise - bodypump class this evening, can hardly move!

1 feb 2006 - year's going by quickly already!

b: ww cereal with skim milk

l: scrambled eggs and baked beans and about 40g salmon

d: pizza made with turkish bread, tomato-based sauce, low fat cheese and anchovies

snacks: one no fat yoghurt

no exercise - i was planning to go to the gym to do the treadmill this afternoon, but i fell asleep for a couple of hours. i think because i'm in pain from the pump class yesterday and the excessive heat (its 36 celcius today). weird as i normally never take naps..

2 feb 2006

b: ww cereal with skim milk

l: roasted sweet potato (like wedges, very good)

d: homemade fried rice - basmati rice prepared using the absorption method, onions, garlic, diced bacon, peas, eggs (cut up omelettish), soy sauce

snacks: couple of slices of ham after workout

3 ltrs water, coffee

exercise - did a step class in the morning and bodypump in the evening. got my vitamin b shot so expect to feel more energetic soon! very glad i managed to go to the gym twice today, helps to make up for not going yesterday!

3 feb 2006

b: ww cereal with skim milk

l: toasted cheese and tinned spag sandwich on white bread D: (i was at a friends' place)

d: small portion of last nights fried rice

4 feb 2006

found i was really hungry today - plus i went out for dinner with my brother-in-law and his family to a turkish restaurant. i guess this would make today my 'cheat' day :)

b: ww cereal with skim milk

l: ww baked beans, scrambled eggs, 2 tbspns ww cottage cheese, 2 slices ham

d: various dips, mezzes, two small pieces of turkish pizza (hello, yum!), two spoons of icecream and a coffee. could have been much worse - most of it was low GI and i only had a little bread

2 ltrs water, coffee, wine with dinner

no exercise (no babysitter and apparently too lazy to do pilates at home!)

Hi Sheidi! :) Well I have to say for your cheat day, it looks pretty darn good!! :) Keep up the great work... you're doing wonderful.. wow, only 6.1kg to go! I didnt realize you were so close to your goal, that is awesome!! Over half way!!!

Ooh.. turkish pizza?? what does that entail ?? sounds delicious!! And only two spoons of ice cream? You are SO good, I couldn't of stopped!!! :)

aw, thanks newleaf :) funny to think its 'only' 6 kgs and i've lost 9. you know, i can't tell that i've lost any weight at all :s i'd have thought 9 kgs which is like, nearly 20 pounds, would be noticable! my clothes are only slightly looser, still not even down one dress size :( its the boobs and fingers thing, isn't it!

the turkish pizza is so yummy - they use turkish flat bread (like pita but thicker) pile the toppings on and only roll up the crust a little, like a pie but without a top. ours were leaf shaped. one had lamb (very thinly sliced) and rocket and yogurt, the other had pumpkin and this beautiful jam made from a fruit (i just now forgot the name). that with hommous and babaganoush, just gorgeous!

the icecream was baked apple icecream - it tasted like apple pie! okay, i'm drooling now :D

5 feb 2006

b: ww cereal with skim milk, one no fat fruche

l: homous, tuna, 2 slices ham, ww cottage cheese, one toasted tortilla

d: home made spinach and feta pie, sweet potato roasted, peas

2 ltrs water, coffee, tea

pump class at the gym

monday 6 feb 2006

b: ww cereal with skim milk

l: scrambled eggs, ww baked beans (small tin), ww cottage cheese, hommous

d: piece of spinach pie

2 ltrs water, coffee

exercise - step class at the gym (accidently went to pump first - had to go home and then go back again an hour later :/ )

wow, Sheidi you're doing great!! :)

Hmm that turkish pizza sounds so delicious!! :D but.. now I have to ask what is rocket?? Hehe, you're bringing all sorts of new delights to my attention!!

Way to go on the step class. man I need to get into one of those myself again!!

thanks newleaf! i'm trying, i hope it shows up on the scales! :D

rocket is a type of lettuce, not sure but it *might* be called aragula in the U.S.? its often in a salad with asparagus, tomato and shaved parmesan with a dressing made with olive oil and balsamic vinegar...
