He's adorable! But yes, he does look like he needs clear rules :D
It was a long time ago now but at one point I was an instructor at the big obedience club in Canberra. Only people who had successfully earned obedience titles in partnership with their dogs were allowed to teach others.

I feel confident in my ability to train him, training little miss will be a whole other challenge lol

The first step will be a lot of socialising to ensure he becomes comfortable around people and other dogs. There is a couple of off lead dog parks in town.

tomorrow morning is the big day for picking up puppy, I will definitely have my phone to video little miss when we get there to pick up her big bundle of fur.

Spent time reading studies today, one interesting meta study looked at pyramid sets showing that they are no better than regular sets on any measure across age and experience categories. However wide pyramids may be of benefit for hypertrophy (needs more study) and the study did not look at pyramids that topped out at more than 85% of 1 rm

He has settled in well overnight and is quite happy to snuggle up to whoever might be sitting on the lounge chair. Little miss understands that if he is in his kennel to leave him alone. He is booked into the vets this morning for his shots and microchip. This afternoon I will see how he goes as a training partner in the gym :D

Working on teaching little miss to change the tone of her voice for giving praise and correcting his behaviour when he grabs her clothing as puppies always do.

Her knowing when to leave him be is the main thing for now since she's your daughter I expect her to become quite the little dog trainer as well :)

I can imagine little miss will be a quick learner & an excellent dog trainer. That's good that the pup has settled in so well already :)

How's your shoulder feeling? That pup is just heart-meltingly cute. Have Little Miss and he made friends?

they have made friends :)

I dehydrated liver for dog training treats and when they were ready today I handed one to little miss for Rocky to test them out and she immediately wanted to eat it herself as she loves liver. Dried liver is great as a training reward and I am yet to meet a dog hat doesn't go mad for the liver treats. It take a little more time making them compared to buying commercial treats but I know it works especially when I am teaching a dog to heel as their nose is always right next to my pocket holding the liver lol.

I have ROM back in the shoulder, bench pressed today without issue but did not push for anything heavy. I need to do more work on the reactive strength using bands, max strength will return in time with normal training.

Having your shoulder mobility back is great! I'm 100% sure that dehydrated liver is better for dogs than storebought treats, which are often full of as many dicey additives as human convenience food.

Congratulations! Thoroughly deserved, I'm sure.
