HI SS,
I was directed to stop by here. I had a question about p90x - I saw the infomercial this morning.
How is it working for you? Do you think a person who has in the past really pushed it to the limits, but is now just at a medium level (me) could do the p90x system? I have quite a bit of tummy flab too.
I used to work out like 3 hrs a day and never had gotten super toned like I wanted, but was getting lighter and "meaner". Ha! But, then my life took a virtual spin on a tornado and exercise wasn't my top priority. It still isn't my top priority, but it's making it's way back up the ladder. It will probably stick somewhere in the middle though.
So, what's the verdict - is the program too mean for a whimp like me?
You were directed to my diary? I don't know whether to be flattered or frightened. LOL. So..the verdict of p90x on me eh? Lets see. If you haven't read my full diary, I started loosing weight back in October. I started out at 255. I did a number of different things, thought I was really up to a good fitness level. I thought wrong. I started p90x a little over a month ago and let me tell you, I've never been more fit in my life. And the good thing about it is, there's three different schedules you can do. The first is the Lean, which I am doing. It's intense...but not as intense as the two other schedules. You have the Classic program... which is the middle one. Now, the biggest difference with that one I do believe is that it includes the Plyometric routine. Until I loose all the unwanted weight and really start toning, I will try the plyometric. It's intense. and last but not least...is the Double! You do two of the exercise routines each day. You're pretty much asking for doublemint pain flavored gum right there! But if you're really REALLY looking for an intense, kick your ass to the wall, no mercy work out.. Do p90x.
The main ingredient to this work out is what the creator calls Muscle Confusion. Each week, you do a set of exercises. On week 4, there's a "recoverey week" in which, atleat for the first week, all weight training is removed and you get an extra day of stretching thrown in for good measure. I've never had ab's before. and now, my abs are starting to develop. I actually have definition...which is nuts for me. The confusion part that happens is a biproduct of the constant switching of routines from month to month. You're body doesn't get used to it...so it doesn't have a chance to adapt and you're constantly burning, sweating, and getting fit!
My stomach flab has gone down tremendously, and now i have a nice set of lose skin. hurray for me! Anywho... it all comes down to... it's severely kicks you in your butt. I need to take another picture soon. I want to do it at the end of 60 days, but that's 2 weeks off. I didn't exercise today because..well... this is my post for today:
Good morning you guys! I'm a zombie. Bonafide, George Romero, slow moving zombie! Grade F, last choice, bottom shelf meat. We're going through a major server migration at work...I'm doing my share all remotely (the server is in Tampa, I'm about 3 hours away.). I was up until 2 a.m. preparing it for the migration today. Just got up about a half an hour ago. I'm beat. Today is Kenpo X for me. I work from home, so perhaps when the kids go down for a nap, I will really quick change and give it a whirl! And I agree...just because it's the holiday (and my wedding anniversary to boot) doesn't mean I get a break! Did I mention I was working till 2?
I will try to do the Kenpo set today... It's not a long one..and it's a fun one to boot. I'm just beat... hope that helps! let me know if you have any other questions. And if you have any that you don't want in the public forum, either PM me or email me at
