Hey all. No gym yesterday for me. Took the day off. Work schedule wasn't really very accomadating for the gym today anyways. My legs are a little sore too... Going to go tonite though. I am MAKING myself do a full core routine and a full cardio session tonite. I feel as though I neglect my core a little bit. I could be working it out better, I feel...

Here is my food for yesterday:

945am 1 cup Kashi cereal, 1 cup skim milk

12pm wheat bread, grilled chicken, swiss cheese, honey-bourbon sauce, tomato/onion/lettuce, baked chips

430pm 2 peanut butter cups

630pm 6 ounces grilled chicken, 1 slice swiss cheese, maranade, can of green beans

10pm FF Yogurt

Cals: 1646
Protein: 125, kind of low, would have liked it higher...



Today's foods (planned):

730am 1 cup kashi cereal, 1 cup skim milk

1030am 2 slices turkey breast, 1 FF Yogurt

1230pm 1 can Vegetarian chili, 17 whole wheat crackers

330pm 6oz. chicken breast, 1 slice swiss cheese,

6pm 1 cup cottage cheese, 1 can pineapple, drained

830pm 2 scoops EAS protein, 1 cup skim milk

10pm Popsicle


Cals: 1852
Protein: 167 grams


So, I don't think I've done too shabby the last couple of days. I feel comfortable around 1800 cals a day or so. I'm thinking that is a pretty decent number for me. I also feel like i need to be more committed at the gym. I'm still with my trainer two days a week and on those days i give it my all for sure. On days when I am not with him though, I feel like i slack sometimes... I need to work on that. Hope everyone is having a great day!

I think you've done well. That's part of the reason I think I'd feel lost without my spin classes...because I KNOW that I simply cannot push myself as hard as I push myself with the instructor. It's expected...I hope that I'll reach a point where I don't need someone around to push me through that threshold. I think I will, it sounds like you'll certainly be able to, you're paying attention to the difference and that will allow you to recognize when you need to go a little harder. You're doing a fabulous job Sam ;) Thanks for the bday wishes!
 
Good afternoon, Sam! Mmm... grilled chicken with swiss cheese and honey-bourbon sauce?? That sounds heavenly. Nice work with your calories. 1800 sounds like a great number. It gives you some room in case you happen to cheat a little on some days, but isn't so low that you're hungry. Good luck with your FULL core and cardio routines tonight!
 
Thanks guys. I think I like 1800 cals per day because it can allow me to have a treat if I want one. With 1800, I usually have about 200 or 300 cals to play with, which is liveable. I still am having my days though when I think I'm doing so good, then I tally everything up and I'm at 2300 or so... It could be worse, right? At least it's not 3000. Not quite sure what my BMR is right now anyways, probably still a waze over 2300 though...

I also just ate my veggie chili. It was so good. It is a good find for the way I'm trying to eat. It's the Stagg brand 4 bean vegetarian chili. It is 400 cals for the whole can (and worth it, very filling and tasty). I really like the Santa Fe chicken chili that Stagg puts out too. I've never tried their other flavors with beef or steak in them. They have a lot more fat and cals.... They are just a good meal idea, and one that I wanted to share :)

Have a headache today. It's a weird headache. It's down at the base of my skull in the back side of my head, especially the right side. I almost wonder if I slept on my neck wrong or something, since I'm usually not much of a headache person. I'm still going to the gym though. Got some more music on my ipod, so I will have a new running playlist!!! lol

Stagg chili is yummy! I've never tried the vegetarian kind. I'll have to give it a try.
Sorry about the headache. You're right - it does sound like it could be from your neck. I've gotten headaches in the base of my skull after sleeping weirdly as well.
 
Hey Sammy!! Your doing a fabulous job on your eating and working out, I'm so proud of you!! And your eating a good combo of stuff, keeping the protein in check that's very, very good!!! And on the headache, it sounds like a TENSION headache to me. I hope your getting plenty of rest, because stress and lack of sleep usually bring those on. Take care and I hope it gets better. Chow!

Hey guys! I made it to the gym last night. I did my full core routine and ran 3 miles on the treadmill. I feel really good about it. I also stuck to my guns on what I ate yesterday, so that feels great as well.

This morning I did have an Egg McMuffin for breakfast, and god forbid the hashbrown... Oh well. As long as I keep my cals down to where I want them, I guess it doesn't matter too much. I could have ordered something a lot worse off the menu too, but I didn't. Enought about that. Not going to the gym today. It closes before I get off work. Plan on going tomorrow though, and I will do legs. It's crazy. My legs get the most sore out of all the parts of my body. When I train my arms or chest I might feel a little tight or stiff but not very noticeable. My legs though usually ache for a day or two or three after my workout. I'm sure it has to do with the all the running I'm doing too.

Legs are tough. I get really tired out from working on my legs too. But I don't do nearly as much weight training as you do!
 
Hey all. Thought I'd post today's foods. Haven't made it to the gym in the past few days. Feel pretty bad about it. I'm definitely going tomorrow, I have a session. I plan on going Fri. and Sat. too. I got to get back into my routine. Just being out of it for a couple of days makes me feel kind of guilty and weird.

445pm 6'' Wheat Turkey sandwich, w/ cheese, no mayo or mustard and lots of veggies. Baked chips

7pm 6oz Chicken Breast
1 slice swiss cheese

9pm 1 cup cottage cheese LF

1030pm 2 scoops EAS protein
1 cup skim milk, 1 FF Yogurt


So, looking at about 1600 cals or so today and 155 grams of protein.

I know what you mean about missing a few days of the gym. Don't feel guilty about it, I'm happy you have a session planned for tomorrow. Even when I take one day off, it messes with my mind and I worry that it will be harder to go back after a break in the groove. It is harder as well. I don't know why either, I think it's just the chub in me that wants to stay so it finds ways to psyche me out. I know that sounds a bit crazy but I know you don't mind ;) Jump on it tomorrow and it will all be cool, have a great night Sam.

I just read your first page and felt sad at your self-esteem issues. Hope you're feeling better these days.

Sounds like you've got your eating and working out down! "Cranky" is a major understatement for how I get when I'm hungry, which happens at least every 2 hours (except on the rare occasion when I'm working at the office).

Hey all. Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. I have kept my eating somewhat well. Around 2100 cals a day average. I would like to keep it lower but, hey I'm not complaining. I made it to the gym only 2 times this week. I was absolutely planning on going tonite but it seems I am getting sick. It sucks. The weather here has been very different than it normally is and my body doesn't respond very well to changes in the weather like that. I dunno. I was very achy and tired yesterday and now I am still achy and tired today but, it feels like this bug is making it's way into my head and ears....:rolleyes: Anyways, still plan on trying to keep the eating in check even if I can't make it to the gym until (hopefully Monday :):):):)

I have one more week (my trainer is on vacation next week) before my weigh in and measurements. Then I get to switch up my routine again, which I think I need. I am hoping for a loss but, if I don't get one I will understand why. I didn't do as good with this cycle as I did with my first... I still did okay though, imo.

Well, Im at work and I think the trick today will to try and stay awake.

hey guys. I'm still sick today. It's a headcold. I can't quit sneezing and I'm stuffed up. Stuff tastes weird too... It sucks. I didn't make it to the gym last night. I don't know if I am a wuss or not but, I just can't go to the gym when I am sick. I really don't like working out and feeling like shit and getting all lightheaded and stuff. I'm not a fan of that. However, I'm planning on going to the gym Monday (tomorrow) hopefully. Diet has been alright. I drank a lot of o.j. yesterday though....

Finally feeling better. Pretty much completely better. I am freaking out though. I haven't been too good lately and I am getting weighed in on next Tues!!!!! So today, to jumpstart everything, I am making two trips to the gym. This morning I only felt like doing cardio, so I ran 2.5 miles. Then, tonite when I go, I am going to do my leg routine and some more cardio....

Then, tomorrow I am going to try to make it to the gym twice as well... I also want to go for a swim and work on my tan, lol.

I walked around the zoo today with my bros. We went because we haven't been in such a long time. It was fun to see the new animals they have gotten since I have been there last... Burned some calories and got some sun. Didn't eat any treats at the zoo, except a little diet coke.

Glad you are feeling better & that trip to the zoo sounds awesome. Good job on not caving into eating any concession crap while you were there.
