Sounds like a run today might be good for your mind too. I'm not going to be with my Dad today either. He lives a few hours away & they had too much other stuff going on. We will have a make up Father's Day or something. I'll fix him dinner maybe.

As for the "cheat day". Just get back on track today. We all slip once in a while. Not a biggie as long as you don't lose track of where you are heading. It will balance out, just want to make sure you are doing more good than evil there. I just told someone else this the other day, but this analogy really made me think about it... one dent doesn't ruin the whole car.. just keep driving & sooner or later you will get it fixed.

Thanks for the words MoonGoddess. It is now almost noon where I am and I have completely talked myself into going on a run this evening when I get off work. It won't be until about 7pm but, by then it will be cool outside (its been around 100 this weekend here in UT).

My dad is having a little dinner tonite that his wife is making for him. We (meaning my bros and I) were invited. I will be at work until 6pm, and it starts at 4pm. One of my bros is on a cruise (he left Sat.) and the other one is sleeping from his night shift last night until this morning. My dad will have my older brother over though, and one of his wife's sons (between my dad and his wife there are 6 kids, all boys). I just wanted my dad to have some of his kids around him on the actual day of Father's Day. I did text him this morning though... I know one day will come that I have to suck it up and go and be around his wife, I just am not ready for it yet, and neither are my bros.....

Hey all. Ended up going running last night in the gully in my old neighborhood. I ran the first two miles and walked the third. My legs feel a little tired and achy today but, not bad. I ate alright yesterday. My one flub was when my brother made some chicken last night, which was healthy but, I had a little too much. Oh well. Today is a new day.

I have an appointment with my trainer again tonite. I want to do biceps and triceps tonite. I have started to notice a difference in them, it was just the other night actually. My tricep is really starting to poke thru and my biceps feel firmer. It was awesome to finally notice:)

Went to the gym today. My trainer kicked my ass, then I kicked my ass on the treadmill. It was a workout that left me very tired. My legs even a little sore.

My bicep/tricep workout:

30lbs. Tricep Pulldowns 3x20
25lb. dumbell for Tricep Blasters 3x20
Pyramid w/ trainer for biceps 10 reps with bar, then increase by 10lbs, then increase, then increase, then decrease, then decrease, then decrease, then just bar (sorry if sounds confusing)
40lbs. bicep curls 3x20 machine
50lbs. tricep extension 3x20 machine
I have one more bicep workout but, I can't remember what it's called.

I also ran 3 miles on the treadmill today. I am beat.

Today's food:

Thank you Lukewarm. I never thought in a million years I would be eating or working out like this. I sometimes still think I am going to wake up and it's going to be a dream, LOL.

I am taking the night off from the gym tonite. I was almost falling asleep at work today:sleeping: , I am so worn out. I know I have to make it to the gym on Weds, and Thurs. I think I am going to try this two days on, one day off thing.

Went to the gym last night. Worked out chest/back/shoulders. I also ran on the treadmill for about 30 minutes or so. I got my new ipod in the mail, so I can give my brother back his.... I never realized how much I rely on my ipod, i am so dependent on it, especially when it comes to working out.

I tried on a pair of these old cordoroy pants that I used to wear to work, and the last time i remember being able to wear them was almost a year and a half ago. I am wearing them today, at work as I type this and they fit perfectly! They are a size 34x34 from American Eagle!:)

I talked with my trainer yesterday some, after we worked out. He didn't have a client after me so, we did a few more exercises to work my chest. I did an incline press pyramid (hell!) and a few reps of a decline press, with mostly just the bar (my muscles were gone by then and pretty much failing).... He said that he is going to take my measurements and weigh me the week after next. By then, it will be 5 weeks total with him (6 weeks total working with a trainer, the first week I had two different sessions with two other trainers.) I can't wait!!!

I came in at about 1850 calories yesterday. I reallly like to keep it at about 1700 or so, so I will do my best to do that today.

Thanks Mal. It's such a good feeling! I have a whole closet of clothes that don't fit me and I want them to. I found my way to the gym yesterday, and did legs and cardio. Legs are such a workout. Between all the squats, deadlifts, lunges, and extensions I do I am covered in sweat before I even start my cardio. I am a big time sweaty person at the gym. I don't feel right if I don't work my ass off. I usually get the whole flop sweat thing going. I don't care. I'm there to lose weight, right? My gym is such a meat market though. LOL. I saw a girl talking on her cellphone while she was doing her cardio. Some people lifting weights in flipflops. That always scares me a little...

Anyways. Did legs and cardio yesterday. It was a workout. My legs were so tired and wobbly that I had to do my first 15 minutes on the Elliptical instead of running on the treadmill. For the final 15 minutes I did get on the treadmill and run.

According to my calculations I came in at just under 1800 calories for yesterday. Trying to shoot for 1700 but, I will take this. I felt like I was hungry a lot today, which I don't normally feel. I did eat 7 separate times, so I shouldn't have been. I have also been having this intense craving for pizza for about the last 3 or 4 days. I just want to eat a whole one, like I used to do. I don't really feel like i have binged at all since I have been doing this. I have had a couple days where I ate when I wasn't hungry or out of boredom, but, I am really working hard to conciously not do that anymore.

You have posted about a few things that were also a little hard for me. I found out since going on my "diet" that I used to eat out of boredom as well. Did not realize that until a few days ago.

Also, as for craving pizza - go and have a slice. Don't deprive yourself of what you want to eat. Just keep it in moderation. The problem that people run into is they want to eat the WHOLE pizza (Like I used to do) and you can't do that. Not anymore. However, having a SLICE is not going to cause any problems at all. Just get a rough idea of how many calories are in that slice and adjust your eating schedule to accomidate it. You know?

I had a craving a few nights ago. Spagetti. I made it and ate it two nights in a row. However, the one thing that changed was - I did not load up my plate like a mountain (used to do this everyday). I took about 1 cup of meat + sauce and a cup of noodles, HUGE salad, with tomatoes, greens, black olives, spanish olives, cucumbers and radishes, topped with about 2 spoonfulls of ranch dressing.

That meal actually was less calories than my previous "healthy" meals (trukey+swiss+whole wheat x 2). So, you can eat things, you just have to do it right.

One thing I won't eat is sweets. Cookies, cakes and the like. Heavy sugar items I won't eat because they go directly to fat stores for me. Sodas too are the worse.

Good job so far tho! :cool:
 
Thanks Sirk. I know I will be getting a slice of pizza soon. I just want to have lost as much as I can and do the best that I can for my next weigh in and measurements by my trainer week after next so, we will see how bad I start to crave it but, I might wait until after next week...

Spaghetti sounds good. I haven't had that in ages either. So many good foods that make my mouth water.

I know that last mini meal at 1030pm is a little late and kind of pushing it (according to my trainer). I don't plan on going to bed until after midnight tonite though, so I need it... I came in right at about 1800 cals today, not too bad. Protein is at 169 grams, and I like to keep it above at least 150 per day. Fat is at 35.5 grams. I never knew i could eat that low fat, and then I look at what I ate for the day and see that I can. I also don't like to eat tuna twice in one day, I hear some people go off about how awful it is and how it's all poisoned with Mercury from the water and stuff. I had no choice today. I gotta grill up some more chicken!

No workout today. Rest day:)

Hi Sam, it's my first time stopping by your diary. It's nice to have you here! You're doing great so far. It takes a lot of discipline to be able to eat every couple of hours like you have been doing. Good for you! Your body will certainly thank you for it.
It's true about tuna - you shouldn't eat a whole lot of it because of the mercury. But it's so good for you in other ways, so it's a real pain in the ass that you aren't supposed to eat it as much as you want.

Sam you're doing such a fabulous job! :) You're some motivation for sure. Hey I'm curious about those Wasa crackers, I'm always intrigued by them at the grocery store. Are they yummy or a bit bland? I hope you have a nice night!

Hey, thanks you guys. I like the Wasa Crisps. I get the whole grain ones. I actually saw Oprah eating them on one of her shows she did with Bob Greene. She used them as a bread basically. It is just really crunchy, which I like... They go perfect for putting tuna salad or turkey slices with cheese on top of. They are low cal and low fat and don't have too many carbs in the either. I have put hummus on them too. Not bad.

Well, I'm coming clean. I cheated a little yesterday. I woke up and ate good to begin with. Then, I had some cake at a birthday party for my friend's kid, along with some carnitas meat with a white flour tortilla. I then had some beers during the night, along with a cheeseburger and some doritos. I totally ate bad, and I am owning it. But, I got right back up on the wagon today. I came in just under 2000 cals. and around 165 grams of protein. I made it to the gym today too, I didn't do any weights but I ran 3 miles in 30 minutes. I felt pretty good after. Really starting to notice more leg muscles showing themselves :)

one small banana

445 2 slices double fiber bread

1 cup wild basmati rice

It was weird cramming all those calories into just 4 meals. I felt like I needed to eat more today because I slept in so long and needed to get my cals in. I went about 200 or so over my cal goal for the day. Also, there has been diet pepsi in the house, so I have been drinking it, a lot. No more for a few days starting tomorrow. Only water, milk, tea, or crystal light. Well. Goodnite all.
