Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

Hey all. Haven't been on here in awhile... Just haven't felt like posting I guess... I made it to the gym for all 3 of my sessions this week. I am sore, just to let ya know. My new routines are pretty hard. I will try to post all of them, or at least what I can remember of them.

Still kind of new. Good workouts though. Can't remember all the weights for sure that I did. I am still doing cardio afterwards. Food wise, doing so so. I need to keep writing in my food journal and not eating some of the foods I am eating. Going to work on that. I want a big loss for my next weigh in!!!!

Took today off from the gym but, plan on making it there tomorrow night and possibly Sunday morning. Going to try. Lifted so many weights this week was completely exhausted after my session on Thursday. Fell asleep for 2 hours and didn't mean to!!!! hehe

Hey Everybody! I have definitely been MIA for awhile. This last week I was very very ill. It started with strep throat last Sat. and by Monday it was full blown. I went to the clinic on Tues. and got put on some good antibiotics and felt almost completely better by the end of the day. So, if that wasn't enough on Weds. I woke up with the STOMACH FLU!!!! wtf!!!!!!! I never get the stomach flu, and this was the most violent illness I think that i have ever had. Knocked me on my ass for almost 2 days.

Finally back at work today to start my work week. I am still a little queazy and scared of food. I didn't make it to the gym at all last week obviously, and plan on taking thru this weekend off for good measure and to finish my antibiotics. It has been a helluva week. I want to start back at the gym on Mon. and go from there. I bet I lost ten pounds from all the awful yacking I did. I couldn't even keep water down. It was horrible. Glad to be almost better.

-Sam

Wow. Havent checked in in awhile. Still seeing my trainer and got weighed in today. Lost a few inches but, only .2 lbs over the past 6 weeks. Kinda been going through a bla phase. I talked with my trainer and made a goal to get down to 200lbs. by the beginning of Dec. So, that's my goal and I am going to have to work hard to make it happen. I plan on starting my running regime up again strong, which my trainer thought was a very good idea. Hopefully I can make this happen.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Been MIA for awhile. I go thru phases I think. Sometimes I really want to post in my diary all the time but, sometimes I don't.

Still continuing with the trainer and the weight loss. I have my trainer now for about 5 or so more months, twice per week. I am very happy about that.

We set some goals for me. I am currently trying to hit 200lbs ASAP. We originally said by Dec.1st but, that might not be enought time (who knows?) so I might give myself until Christmas.

I started weighing myself at each session I have with my trainer. I know I used to say it worked better for me to not weigh myself hardly at all, and that was great but, now I think weighing myself more frequently keeps me more honest in a way.

Still trying to hit the gym 5-6 days per week. Lately it's been more like 3-4... I have started running on the treadmill a lot. I ran 5 miles at once the other day and felt wonderful afterward. Trying to run 3-5 miles per day, at least 5 days per week, and still do all my strength training. It's hard work.

My diet has been the hardest part. I haven't been eating 4-7 times per day like I am supposed to. It's been really hard for me to stick to that. I still try to keep an eye on my protein and calorie consumptions, and go from that. I really need to get back into the eating mini-meals frequently throughout the day.

Hope everyone is doing well and continuing with their weight loss.

-Sam

I'm the opposite....diet is easy for me, but working out is the hardest part.

I wish I could get a trainer, or a gym for that matter! But I shouldn't need either of those to exercise!

Oh well...good work on the treadmill. In the summer we have "hell week" for soccer, which is all fitness, and when we finish up our last 100 meter sprint, I feel so good. Yes, I feel like I could throw up, or just fall on the track and never get up again. BUT It's so great to know that I accomplished what I set out to do! and without sitting out on a single sprint!

Thanks for stopping by my diary guys. I need to start writing in this more. I have a habit of just going to other people's diary's to talk...

Didn't make it to the gym today. Which sucks. But, when your sick your sick and I know going to the gym will not make me feel better at the moment, it will probably make it worse. Hopefully this sickness I feel leaves me soon. I am staying within my calories tho, which is a plus. I am not eating 5 or 6 times per day like i should because my appetite hasn't really been there for the last week or so but, I am still eating.

Tomorrow I meet with my trainer and I have to weigh in. Hope it is good news and I hope I can do some cardio tomorrow. I miss my runs!!!

goodnite,
Sam

Good luck with your weigh in! With all the work you've been doing no doubt it will pay off on the scales!

Being sick sucks. Ive had some problems with my breathing, kinda like asthma, and it means I get sooo puffed doing exercise, and they dont know what it is! I used to run 5 days a week and now I struggle walking to my car after work!

I hope your feelin better soon!

Hi
You are doing quite well, a pretty impressive total loss I must say! You likely know this already, but going on antibiotics often leads to er...GI problems (AKA "stomach flu"). This is due to what is in the antibiotics. If you have to go on them again, be sure to also take acidophilus (sp?). I think you can either take it in pill form or in yogurt (the REAL stuff).

Hope you have a great weigh in and that you are feeling 100% again!

Cheers
:)

Hey everybody!!!

My session with my trainer went pretty well this morning. Still not feeling 100% but, feeling better. He had me do circuit training today, because I am getting a little bored with some of my other routines. This circuit he had me do was killer.

The circuits I did today were:

Bouncing lunges up and down a ramp 1 minute
Crunches 1 minute
Ball squats 1 minute
Bicep curls with 15lb wts. 30 sec each arm
Tricep blaster things with 15lb wts. 30 sec. each arm
Calf raises on the stairs 1 minute

He had me repeat this circuit about 4 or 4.5 times. Then I went and did some cardio on the elliptical for about 15 minutes. Still not up to running yet, or doing cardio for very long. Hoping to build back up to 45 minutes or so over the next week... I did weigh in for him. I was slightly nervous. I came in at 212.8lbs, which is an all time low for me with my trainer. I was pleased :)

Plan on hitting the gym tomorrow morning (but we all know how that goes with me, lol) for some running, just to test the waters and see how far I can go without feeling too shitty.

I have some goals in my head of what I want to accomplish over the next few months. All my clothes are starting to fall off of me, even some of my size 34 jeans... I want to buy some new clothes but, not until I'm signifigantly closer to my goal because I am gay, and by definition somewhat of a label whore ;)

I am hoping to hit 200lbs by the end of the year. I would love to hit 197 or so by my bday which is Jan.4th, that would be 50lbs down since May and one helluva bday gift to myself. We will see what happens...

Hey all.

I'm on a four day weekend from work. So nice before I am back there for my intense schedule for the week of Thanksgiving. I will appreciate the extra money I guess.... Food wise, doing alright. I played a little on Fri. night. It was fun. Still need to get to the store. I plan on getting there tomorrow or Monday. I want to get all my fruits and veggies and meats and stuff. Probably at Costco.

Still trying to make it to the gym......

Hope your all having a nice weekend :)

-Sam

Sounds like you are on the right track to making it to that 200 by 2008 goal! Glad you are feeling better & have the motivation keeping you going.... I dream of the day I feel comfy enough to just buy a pair of jean off the rack without even trying them on or feeling slightly embarrassed that the skinny cashier is going to raise an eyebrow at the size I end up bringing to the counter.

Enjoy the 4 day weekend & hopefully it will include something fun & active, whatever you deem that to be!

Hey Sam!! it's nice seeing you pop in!! Looks like your still going strong, and working out, GREAT JOB!!

I'm sure you will see your goal weight by your birthday as long as you stick with your trainer and eating habits, you'll be fine!!!

I bet your converting a lot of your fat to muscle and you must be seeing a new body forming right before your eyes. Body weighs more than fat, so stay patient, even if you don't see fast loss on the scale, remember your converting and losing inches and to be honest with you, that is the MOST IMPORTANT part of all.

Keep up the great work and I CAN'T WAIT to see your progress in another month.

HUGS

Hey Sam. Long time, no see, huh? :p

I agree. You MUST be building lots of muscle from those workouts. They're pretty tough!

Hello everybody. Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. When I get weekends from work, I usually don't get on the computer that much because I work on one all week. Funny how that works, huh?

Pretty much over the cold. Still a little lingering in my chest, which is extremely gross, if you catch my drift.

I went to the gym this morning to do my workout with my trainer. We did chest and triceps. He had to keep adding weight to what I was already lifting because it was getting too easy. FYI, I have had the same workout for awhile now. We both agreed it was time to change my current workout. So, beginning next week I will get one. He is going to throw me back on a fat burner workout, which is a lower weight and more reps. These workouts aren't as fun as the bulking/mass building workout that I am currently on. I like only having to do a few reps, even if it is more weight. The fat burner workouts usually do the trick though, so I am excited...

Didn't do my cardio  I know, I'm such a bastard, lol. I can't be doing that....

Went to the store and finally got some food. Groceries are so damned expensive..... They are a necessity though. Now at least I have food in my fridge for the first time in a couple of weeks. :) I work a ton this week over Thanksgiving, so I am sure I will be on here a bunch checking in everyone's diaries.

Sounds like a change is just what you need. At least with the trainer you don't get bored with the same ole same ole.

Hate to hear you have to work through the holiday, but hopefully you get a moment to celebrate ( in a healthy way). Glad you are feeling better.

Hello All,

Well. I overdid it at Thanksgiving a little bit, or actually a lot. I pigged out. It was damn good too. We had a bunch of leftovers at my house the day after too, so it kinda went into the next day too. I'm over it though. Made it to the gym today. Did most of my ab routine and ran on the treadmill, and walked on the treadmill for 30 mins total. I'm used to doing a bit more than that but, I have to work overnight tonite, so I didn't want to completely kill myself and not be able to stay awake.... We'll see if it works.

From now until Christmas though, it's gym mode. I gotta get to my goals for the new year. I would love to be able to say I have lost 50lbs. total since May... Gotta get to work. Getting new routines next week as well. I will post when I get.

ttyl,
Sam:)
