Rox has lost 62 pounds....so far!

Wow Rox, I hadn't seen your before photos . I can't believe that they are of you.
I love the outfit in the 2nd photo too, you look stunning.
Happy New year and I hope that you manage to get your new life sorted out without too much stress. xx

To echo all the other sentiments, you just look incredible. So slim and toned, and years younger. Bet your husband is kicking himself now :smash:

Sadly... it's not the case- as far as I can tell. When I got dressed up for New Year's Eve, he didn't even say anything. I got lots of compliments at the party, though, and found plenty of dance partners...

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I really am working at the toning part now. I'm finding that it makes such a difference to how I look!

Just because he didn't say anything, doesn't mean he isn't thinking it. It's blatantly obvious how much weight you've lost and how much slimmer and younger you look. He will be too proud and stubborn to say anything to you, as he treated you like crap and rather than watching you crumble you've done the opposite and succeeded. And you think seeing all the guys checking you out and dancing with you won't be bothering him?? It will be, believe me!

Anyway, you don't need his approval or his compliments, it is a lot better that you know inside how great you are and how great you feel! Far better to be able to stand on your own two feet and not rely on anyone else to make you feel good :)

I've always been a big advocate of weight training for women, it makes you look strong and defined, your clothes fit better, look better naked, feel more confident and independent as your strength increases, you burn more calories at resting the more muscle you have, tons of benefits!

I'm sure you'll never tire of hearing this, but....

WOW!!!

You have done SUCH an amazing job! Very inspirational photos!

Now I'm off to find your diary and see how you've managed to be so successful at this!

Rox, I just saw your pictures, and you're such a great inspiration for myself.

What have you done?
How many calories did you cut on your diet?

I'd appreciate any tips you can share with us!

-Sorry for my bad English, since Spanish is my native language.

Thanks so much for all the great comments and compliments. You guys are so nice!

As for what I've done...no real surprises- just calorie counting and exercise.

At first, I didn't eat enough. I was at 700 or 800 calories on many days. But I learned to eat better and after that managed to keep it at about 1100 to 1200 per day.

I allow myself treats and high-calorie days. But I always keep track of what I've eaten. Always.
I think that's the best tip I could give: Don't have any "forbidden "foods. Choose an eating plan that lets you eat food you enjoy. Otherwise you won't stick with it or, if you do, you'll just gain it all back once you go into maintenance.

I have been at 146.9 for quite a while now...but over the last month, I managed to drop inches through exercise. (The 30 Day Shred DVD rocks my world!!!!!). I've gone down a clothing size. I'm now a size 8. And yesterday I bought a pair of size 8 shorts that are...too big! I should have bought the 6, but I didn't have time to try them on.

It's crazy!! Sometimes I can't believe that I really managed to do this....

Please check the original post in this thread if you haven't read it lately. I just updated it yesterday with some new before and after pictures....

Whoa! Rox you look great! You're so toned! ...I was needing something to get me to workout in a few minutes and this just did it. What a motivation you are.

I feel like I should have done what you did when I was cheated, instead I sulked in misery and lost my job as well as myself. I needed to see your post and now I feel more inspired than ever to get my life back. Thank you!

Rox,

Seeing your newly updated pictures just answered a question I was going to ask you! As I've lost weight and now have a waist and can see my ribs, I noticed that my ribs look different now than they did when I look at old pictures pre-pregnancy. It's as if the bottom of my rib cage sticks out in the front now. I'm rather short in the waist, so I can only assume that from having kids (especially twins) that they were pushed up and outward, giving my ribcase this new shape? I haven't been able to see my ribs since probably the mid 1990's - so I'm just noticing this now.

In your new pictures I can see that your ribs look similar to mine. This is comforting to know I'm not such a freak. :biggrinjester:

By the way - have I told you how jealous I am of your great skin??? No stretchmarks at all!!! It's just not fair I tell ya!

Great job on your loss - you look fabulous!
