That's funny, Rob. This is what I saw today in a public toilet on the highway-

I´m glad you liked my brainchild! I imagine lime yogurt for dipping was a delicious addition. The dumpster pic genuinely made me laugh out loud.
Cate: I´m no stranger to squatting over public toilets but who squats on top of them???

I hit 40 pounds this morning. I'm somewhat happy about that although I've been in a slump that I think I'm now coming out of. I am changing in many ways as I drop weight. My thought patterns are different and my body feels different. I feel like I have a little more clarity. I think of it as having more time in the moment to think about what's happening. I'm not as cloudy and weight oddly affected that and all my thinking. If I wasn't tracking, I think my goals would "drift" a little bit so I'm grateful I have the space to track things here and support from others. Thank you all for your comments and being here along the way.

That sounds like an amazing non-scale victory as well as a scale milestone. Congratulations!
I love the sound of the salad you had for lunch; was that homemade?

Hey Rob, down 40 lbs puts you well ahead of me, congrats!

I see you eat sardines. I did once. I had a bad experience with them as a child when I was over at a friend's house. I'd like to try again though. I hear they have a lot of nutritional value. Do you have any tips on selecting some and how to eat? I'm not sure I could eat them by themselves.
Sardines are good for you, and can be a good way to get low calorie protein. I eat mostly canned sardines, we don't have fresh ones here, in fact I have never seen people eat fresh sardines in the US.

They can be an acquired taste, my wife won't eat them and I can see how a bad experience as a kid keeps you away from them. I think the mildest ones are probably packed in mustard sauce, you might want to try starting there. I think the most common packing is in oil, and I do like them in oil but they have a lot of calories. Right now I am eating some packed in tomato sauce without oil, they have only 90 calories per can, I usually eat 2 cans. I always leave the sauce for the dogs, they love it and it probably reduces the calories a bit. I would not recommend these for starters, they are kind of strong and fishy. I like that but I know others do not. Also I would recommend getting some high quality sardines, particularly for a first time, they cost more, but taste better.

A lot of people eat them with crackers or on bread. I don't I usually eat them straight out of the can, or put them on a salad.

Give them a try and let us know how it goes.

Funny picture, Cate! I went to India for a little while when I was younger and that's how it works but the toilets are basically just a hole in the ground. There are some "western" toilets and I would always look for those. Almost seems like it you'd be better anatomically positioned using the hole in the ground.

LaMa, that was primarily a salad mix but I added the green bell pepper and tomatoes and used a different dressing than the one provided which I tossed.

Thanks Rob! I'll see if I can find the mustard ones for starters. I'm still not a fan of the fishy flavor but everything's changing so maybe my taste buds are too.

TMI time: I've had to resort to the hole-in-the-ground ones aaand... I found it really stressful to actually try and hit that tiny opening from squatting distance  End of TMI :rotflmao:

Hey Rob! I go away for a bit and you go and lose 20 more pounds! Geez! Good for you. It sounds like you've had some ups and downs mentally but overall it looks like things are going really well!

Hey PLB, Welcome back! Yep that’s about right. It’s getting a little harder as I get lower. I’ve been tracking my exercise and it’s helping. I’m going to try to add weight training volume too. Good to see you again. :)

I'm really lovin banana with my Greek yogurt in the morning. The flavor contrast works for me. Sleep is sucking again but I am resting often. My weight went up by 0.6 pounds which sucks but I've noticed my weight can fluctuate by as much as 8 pounds in a day. It's usually lowest in the morning when I weigh myself or after a long sweaty walk like today's. Overall, I'm doing OK and feel like I'm getting back on a course similar to where I was a few weeks ago.

Huge drop in weight today. Down over 2 pounds. I'm happy because my weight loss has been stubborn since late June. I had another big exercise day today and I feel good tonight - clearer thinking.

Hey Rob,
Down over 2 pounds. I'm happy because my weight loss has been stubborn since late June. I had another big exercise day today and I feel good tonight - clearer thinking.
Good for you! 2 lbs down is good news, and you feeling good is too.

I like Greek yogurt and bananas too, that's what I had for breakfast today.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Rob! It's inspiring seeing how much you lost and how much better it is making you feel! I lost around 40 pounds so far, too, and I feel similarly - no more brain fog now and very little lethargy - only if I don't exercise for too many days. Anyway, just wanted to say you are doing amazing. It's taken me a year to lose my 40, so I am really inspired by how well you are doing!!

Good for you, with the new two-pounds drop - and especially good for the overall good feeling and clearer thinking! :hurray:
