It does always help when everyone is in the same mentality. How did you do during the holidays? Maintain?

I put on like 6 pounds. Not too bad I don't think. It happened to coincide with about a 2 month break from lifting, so maybe some of it is muscle... not a big deal tho, It will gradually drop off.

Hope all is well with you! I have ADD like a mofo, and theres so much activity on your page... wanna gimme a summary? :D

Wow 6lbs is not that bad at all!! :D! Funny that you stopped lifting for like 2 months ...

I stopped running for like 2 1/2 months too, and sadly didn't hold back eating for 5 weeks either!! I went on a vacation to an all inclusive Resort late November, ate....and drank....came back on vacation mode still....and continued it...and continued not running still. And gained 15 lbs :banghead: in those 5 weeks. PSH!!!!

...I should have known better, but whatcha gonna do right!?! I shed 3lbs last week, and back on the running grind now too!!! I hope to run a 1/2 Marathon this Feb 7, and do a Triathalong sometime in June-Sept. :) Other than that, super swamped finishing my classes to graduate as a Hypnotherapist, while building my private practice (starting all that), while working full time too. All in All....Ready for 2010!!! :)!!!

yeah i screwed up my leg! I was actually in pretty battered shape now that I think about it... I think I may have just been overtraining on too few of calories... anywhoo... im nearly 100 percent in it now, it still feels a little stiff at times, but im squatting and trap bar deadlifting now. not gonna do any crazy low cal stuff, at least while lifting heavy, I always have to elarn the hard way :banghead:

Sounds like you have got a busy year ahead of you! good luck with the hypnotherapy and of course your fitness goals! whoa wait... Triathalon?! dude thats hardcore! youd be even more awesome with that accomplishment under your belt!

Ha.. I did something wrong while playing tag with my girlfriends nephews, figures huh? I was doing all kinds of running, up and down washes, lifting heavy, and i tweak something playing tag!!

its not even the joint really... i think its the muscles near the knee. I went to the doc, no MRI or anything, didnt even tell me what muscles might be the problem. although she did give me a referral for physical therapy, they probably could have told me.

But I decided to just give it time, and give it some work myself, and its been pretty good, not limiting at all.

I'm just glad its not the joint itself, but there is some minor discomfort in some DEEP squat range of motion still.

Hehe, yeah that'll do it, you body wasn't expecting tag! lol

But yeah, it's better to play it safe for now. Don't want to make it worse.

thought id share some data here...
1/15/09 - 176.2
1/15/10 - 177.6 1.2lb gained

Max weight 187.6 on 8/11/09
min weight 162.6 on 06/18/09

so ive done a roller coaster job of maintenance :) important thing is that in a year I havent really gained right?

Its all about being conscious. Its so easy to slip into auto pilot and just operate on your wants, ignoring your needs. Really that's what it boils down to isn't it? You don't need that 2nd slice of lasanga, that second piece of Garlic bread.

You WANT it, and there is little immediate consequences of indulging in your wants, the consequences slowly, very slowly pile up. As your stuck in this autopilot mode, stuck in daily habits of modern conveniences its easy to fail to notice, that you are getting heavier, putting on chub in places you didn't want. But if its not your daily habits to take stock of your physical abilities, you're not likely to notice.

But how do you maintain this consciousness? I think that's the million dollar question.
