Risty's Diary (Christina)

Yeah I moved it a teeny bit! lol...

I did my plyometrics today. It was a hard hour that's for sure.

Tomorrow is going to be a long workout day. I'm going to go to my sister's gym and try zumba. I didn't want to pay the drop in fee, but for my other challenge I need a bike and have to do 50 miles (you don't have to do it all in one day though you get the most point out of it if you do). So I'm going to do zumba and then try to do 50 miles on the bike.

Since Thursday is yoga and I'm not doing yoga yet cause of my shoulder, I think I'll do tomorrow's workout (back and biceps) on thurs instead since tomorrow I'll already be doing a bunch. However, if in the afternoon tomorrow I feel ok I still may do it because it's upper body and I would have worked the lower body in the morning with the zumba and biking. I'll see how it goes.

I'm reading your post and I'm getting tired. Reeeeeeal Taaaaayyrrrred.
I feel like a super lazy A-hole when I read your diary. Ha ha ha

Yeah I like green tea also. I'm going to keep drinking it. Glad you had a good day. Best of luck tomorrow, you'll do great.

2skinny - I thought you were meaning I was boring at first! I was like :O How could she?! Then I was like... ah I get it (it's late and I'm tired and you'll know why in a minute!)

Crazy4beadz - Yes you are right a teeny loss is still a loss! LOL...I was going to get measured yesterday if my sis was home but she wasn't and then today I was so busy (and she wasn't home still anyways). So maybe I can get her to do it tomorrow.

Today - In my other challenge we have to do 50 miles on the bike (which you could do over a week) but the sooner you do it the more points you get. So, I was like.. I am doing it all in one day! Since I don't have a gym membership (and keeping track on a regular bike would be hard) I did a drop in at my sister's gym. So i thought I should go on a day and try that zumba class. It was SOOOO fun, I wish I could do that all the time!

Then I proceeded to do my 50 miles... however it took A LOT longer than anticipated. I did almost 2 hrs at the gym (but I got off to not take up the bike any longer and it was lunch time). So then I decided to buy a recumbent bike (I've wanted one for years and I knew that it would help me in the challenge. So then I did the rest of the 50 miles at home. It was so hard, it took me 4 hours and 50 mins. My legs are in pain! Not recommended to do 50 miles all in one day without training of some sort! BUT, I'm so proud of myself at the same time!

Total exercise today, 5 hrs 50 mins... NUTS!

Um. Holy crap!! Wait, first I want to say congrats on purchasing a new recumbant bike!!! How great is that! I would love to have an elliptical trainer ... one day.

50 miles on the thing, I'd say it's broken in! lol Holy glute grit girl!

That's cool you liked Zumba. We have that class at my gym so I'm going to try it.

Are you allowed a rest day tomorrow? You may need a walker.

Wow, that was quite ambitious to do 50 miles in a day! I can usually go about 10 miles in a hour, so that would have taken me 5 hours straight!!

Go girl, way to buy a bike tho and knock it out!! Keep up the good work. I did an hour of the indoor bike today myself, it's easy to get into the 'zone' on those things.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the congrats! It was a huge accomplishment for me :) I don't think I'd want to do it over again though! lol

I definitely took a rest day, actually 2! I took thursday and friday off. I was just so tired and I worked those 2 days and I think I need to find a way to make exercise work on days that I go to work. And yes, my legs were sore the day after, mostly the spot behind my knee/upper calves. That went away in 2 days though, so not too bad! It's definitely not one of my most sore moments, so that's a good thing!

Having said that I had 2 break days I am making it up. Today I did wednesday's workout and today's workout. Tomorrow I will do Friday's workout and tomorrow's workout. Thursday was yoga and I'm not starting that yet... maybe I will try it next thursday and see how it goes... so thursday was my true rest day. If that makes any sense.

So today I did back and biceps + ab ripper x and kenpo x = 2 hrs 10 mins total. Tomorrow will be legs and back (won't do the ab ripper x with it since I did it today and will have to do it monday) and then it'll be x stretch which will = 2 hrs. I did one dvd this morning and one dvd this afternoon so that'll be the plan for tomorrow as well.

I am really happy with myself that I can take a rest day or two and not have it continue on to a rest week or a rest month (as I would do in the past). I am also proud that I want to do my program so bad that I will make it up on a different day. I feel different this time around with my weight loss. I still have my random binge days (but my binging has been better and on foods that are not so high in cals that it's not so bad) and I do get upset with myself when the scale isn't showing what I want but I'm not giving up nor do I want to and that's what's different! I'm taking my mistakes and/or disappointments and moving forward and that's one of the best changes I could have made!

So today I did my Legs and Back DVD along with the X Stretch DVD which = 2 hrs of exercise.

I really hope this week my scale with be nice to me, since I've done every P90X DVD for the week (minus the Yoga one, but I did the X stretch one instead of it) along with the 50 miles on the bike I did. SO, the scale better smarten up! The weigh in is Tuesday so I'll find out in 2 days.

Well if the scale doesn't smarten up it must be muscle from all that incredible exercise you're doing. Your husband must be so impressed. Is he like "um, honey, do you think we could spend some time together?" and you're "huff puff, sure, huff puff, honey, huff puff, just lemme finish, huff puff, this last set of push ups" LOL

Luv ya.

LOL, sometimes he does come up to me and ask how much longer I'll be! But usually my workouts are just an hour a day, if I miss a day or two like this week I'll make them up the next day so that'll be 2 hours (but I spread it out). The 50 miles on the bike, that was crazy! Unfortunately I'll have to do it again!

It's the final week of that challenge and for the final week we have to do all 3 challenges in one week that was done throughout the 8 weeks. One is "skiing" so we'll have to do 3 hrs on the elliptical (you get points for completing each hour) it doesn't give you more point for doing it all in one day or anything, so that one I'm not worried about.

The other challenge is those stairs I had done a few weeks ago... 1500 steps. If you do it in under an hour you get the most point, then 2 hrs, 3 hrs, 4 hrs. Last time I did it in 48 mins and 5 secs. So I know I can get the full points again. However I pushed myself really hard to get that time so I'm not looking forward to duplicating that!

Then lastly is the 50 miles biking. You get the most points for completing it in one day, which I did last time. Then there's point on how many hours it took you to do it, so you get the most points for doing it in 4 hours. Last time it took me 4 hours and 50 mins. So that's the one that really worries me, it was hard and now I'm going to try and beat that time... if possible! I'd have to do 13 miles per hour, which last time I started off slower but the last couple hours I was doing 12 miles per hour, so I can totally up it to 13!

This week will be hard, and I don't know if I can or should do my P90X too. If I have time, I will. Maybe I'll just do the key ones. I won't do yoga like usual (I was thinking about starting it this week until I read the challenge!) So I'll start it next week. I can skip kenpo x because it's cardio kicking and punching and stuff and I'll get my cardio from the challenges. X stretch I can also skip but it's not a hardcore workout and it might be useful to do at the end of the week anyways. But really I have 4 key dvd's I will try and do this coming week. I can definitely do my monday one since next week's challenge doesn't start until tues. So then I really only have to worry about 3 key dvds.

WOW, long post! Sorry everyone! Just rambling along to myself!

Wow girl, you are doing some serious cardio! Good for you. That challenge sounds like a bruiser! LOL I bet it's paying off tho!

Keep up the good work! You are one of the hardest working outers I see on here. Bravo!!!

Well, I haven't done that stuff yet, but that will be coming up this week. So at next Tues weigh-in I'll see if it has helped. Not that I will want to repeat that stuff anyways, lol. AH!

Today I did my chest, shoulders & triceps + ab ripper x. I also did 45 mins on the recumbent bike on hills level 4 which = 2 hrs total of exercise.

I've done really well on my exercise this week and I only ate bad at one meal, so I thought I might make more than a 1 pound loss this week. I weighed myself today and I have only lost 1 pound. It better NOT go up tomorrow for my weigh in, I'll be so mad!

I just can't believe I'm working this hard for 1 pound a week, boo! I thought I could do 2 pounds a week, but that hasn't happened since the first week.

MJB - Thanks :)

So yestserday I completed one of the three challenges. I did the worst one first (50 miles on the bike). To get the max points I had to do it in one day and in under 4 hours. So I did it yesterday in just under 4 hours. It really sucked! But I'm glad it's done. I got a huge rash on both my thighs and I think it's from the yoga pants I was wearing rubbing on my thighs for that long! It hurt and it was raised and red, looked kinda like an allergy reaction. Today it's not raised but you can still see the redness.

Today I did my P90X Back & Biceps + Ab Ripper X. Also did 30 mins on the elliptical (need to complete a total of 3 hours this week for one of the other challenges, so I'm gonna take it 30 mins at a time since there is no time limitations). So today I did a total of 1 hr 45 mins of exercise.

Dam! you're awesome and a great inspiration!! well done so far on your achievements!

Can't wait to see you achieve your ideal weight :))

What kind of challenge are you in girl? that sounds like triathlon training!! Sheesh!

I have certain workout pants that will cause thigh burn. I usually have to wear the stretchy ones that are shiny, those don't burn up the legs.

you put in some serious mileage tho girl, sounds like your legs were burning some serious tread!!

Good for you tho for working it girl! Nice job!!

DMR - Thanks :) I don't feel like an inspiration, my weight is dropping SOOOO SLOW! lol...

MJB - We're doing an amazing race challenge and you have your detours and roadblocks etc, etc. So the roadblocks are the ones that everyone in the team had to do once but once you did one, you couldn't do the others, so you have to pick wisely because you don't know what will come up next. So in the final week, everyone on the team has to try and do all 3 roadblocks. Plus we're doing 2 of the detours which is 1-drinking enough water and 2-no junk food (you get point for each day you do those things).

So I had a long hard day at work. I barely slept last night. I ate a horrible high calorie dinner. I'm tired and cramping (missed two pills and so my period started AGAIN... AH!)

So today I didn't do any exercise, but I have a plan for the rest of the week to make sure I get my roadblocks done, plus at least half of the P90X. I work late in the afternoon tomorrow so I'll have time to get my workout done before I have to leave for work.

PS - I kinda did a tiny bit of exercise. I chased my nephew around the house and would pick him up and swing him around. Also, he has this helium balloon (the foil type) and he loves playing with it, but also loves letting it go and watching it float. So I had the smart idea of picking him up and lifting him to the ceiling to grab it himself... well he LOVED it. I must have done that 20 times! My arms were like ok.. you're getting heavy now, lol. It was so fun!
