Risty's Diary (Christina)

Tutti - Thanks! It does feel good :)

I didn't really mention yesterday about my weigh in and weight loss. I lost 1.4lbs which was better than the 0.5, 0.2 I was getting midweek! I know I need to up it, but after an hour or an hour and 15 mins of a dvd, I'm tired! So I don't know, I'll try to add cardio. I'll be doing the eliptical tomorrow instead of yoga (because of my shoulder).

Today, I did shoulder and arms + ab ripper x. I was careful with the shoulder stuff. I also iced my shoulder afterwards.

Now it's time for the hot tub, yay!

Sounds like your doing great Risty! Like was said above, take body measurments. I'm sure you've lost inches, sometimes the scale doesn't move even though we are losing inches. Keep positive!! :) GO GREY!

OOOOOooohhh Risty you're in the 180's ?? awesome! You caught up with me..

Race ya to the 170's :auto: :auto: :auto:

Risty i think you are doing great. Dont get discouraged by a .4 weight loss. Its a loss not a gain.. ;) Heck you are in the 180's now!! Like the others had said.. Write down your measurements.. and measure every 2 weeks.. stay away from the scale unless its your weigh in..

well, you have a nice day..Im gonna go soak in some hot hot water.. in so much pain .. Gotta love Jillian :)

MissJelly - Thanks, I won't give up on it. I get discouraged really really easily and I think that was partly my downfall last time (getting discouraged at a plateau even though I had done really well all together, that and becoming lazy again).

I get soooo discouraged when the scale doesn't reflect the effort I put in also. I can tell you tho, I have seen changes in people with my own eyes that have not lost numbers on the scale but worked out consistently. My sister for instance, her body morphed into a triathlete in the past year, and is so different than pre working out. The junk in the trunk went away and firmed up, and muscles are popping out in places I never saw them before.

Hey Risty; I get discouraged easily also. I think after 3 weeks of exercise and eating healthy I should see like 10 pounds weight loss. LOL You are doing so great, and surely you must be feeling it in how your clothes fit.

Hot tub YA! I always go in the dry sauna after my workouts and absolutely LOVE it. It's such a reward.

Have a great weekend!!

chefashley - Yeah I know I should take measurements. I just was thinking about doing the measurements every month. Do you think it should be every 2 weeks? Can you see much difference in that time frame?

Crazy4beadz - I did reach the 180's! FINALLY! I'll definitely race ya to the 170's ;) I actually can't wait to reach the 170's. Then I'll be at the weight I should have started losing my weight again and not waiting until the 190's to do it, lol.

Tutti - Thanks! I'll definitely be keeping up with it :) It's working for me and doing nothing was only increasing my weight, so stopping would be stupid, lol.

2Skinny - Yeah I got so upset from 1 week, I can't imagine 3 weeks of no weight loss. You must have body changes though, have you been measuring yourself? Sounds like you definitely need to take measurents cause after 3 weeks, I'm sure something's happening!

MissJelly - Aww, thanks! I want to thank you as well for being a good friend to me on here :)

So here's a recap on the past couple days:

Thurs - I did the elliptical for 1 hr 1 min (55 mins on hills level 6, 6 mins was warm up/cool down). I did the elliptical instead of the Yoga X for the P90X. My shoulder isn't ready for the Yoga. I also stayed within my calorie range.

Fri - I did the Legs and Back + Ab Ripper X = 1 hr 15 mins. I definitely feel it in my butt today (WOO!). The legs and back has a lot of squats and lunges, however it's different from the plyo due to the fact that the plyo has jumping with those things, lol). I also stayed within my calorie range.

Today - I will be doing Kenpo X (like cardio kickboxing) = 1 hr. I haven't done it yet but I will do it soon. Calories will be hard today since it's a big celebration party for the family (celebrating 3 february bdays (grandma, nephew, brother-in-law) and my grandparents 55th anniversary). I'm kinda glad that it's all done in one day so that I don't have 4 events with lots of food, just one! lol. I know there will be tortellini (with 2 diff sauces), homemade pizza, KFC (cause my grandpa wants it), 2-3 diff cakes (one is lemon.. my fave) and jello (in the colours of the Italian flag, lol. So yeah, that will be a challenge.

I just finished my Kenpo X dvd which is 1 hr. I still have energy though, so I think I may do some DDR!

You go girl with those workouts! Whoo hoo! I have to look into this Ab Ripper X, sounds interesting! Keep up the good work over there.

Thanks you two!

I didn't end up doing my DDR that day. I got busy helping make stuff for the party. lol

I ended up eating too much... calorie goal is 1600 and I ate 2234 which is 634 over. Not too bad considering all the food that was there. So I'm glad I didn't go over maintenance.

Sunday I was planning on working out but I went to lunch with some friends that came in from out of town (boston pizza... ah!) I stayed within calories though, ate 1674 I think. But instead of working out I cleaned my kitchen and then organized it, the pantry and one of my bookshelves because it was ridiculous! I still have a few things that need to be fit in the kitchen somewhere... where... I don't know! But I will have to do that after my workout today that's for sure.

So, I did end up going on the elliptical, there was no choice about it, I had to! I did 1 hr 1 min (55 mins on hills level 6, 6 mins were warm up and cool down).

Almost halfway through my workout my sis was leaving for work in a rather huffy mood (I think because I was on her elliptical and she wanted to go on quickly before work) so then she decided to walk to work instead. She thought her iPod was not charged and she kinda threw it and left angrily. Her husband came down about 30 secs later and I said that he should charge it for her and he said that he just had. So he looked and it was on the locked setting (so that it can't be turned on). So then I was like see if she's still there! But she wasn't, so I put the elliptical on pause, grabbed the iPod and started running! She walks pretty fast, especially when mad, so she was almost all the way down the street! I was calling to her... LISA.... no, she couldn't hear me until I caught up completely. Here I am out of breath, holding out her iPod, she was like... did you just run all this way? I told her yes, then she was happy and thanked me. So then I walked back and got back on the elliptical.

So that was my elliptical interlude/sprint session. LOL

I'm really aggrevated this week. I'm trying not to be angry but I can't help it. I try really hard. This is the first time I've really been super consistent with my exercising. For the past 3 weeks I have exercised 6/7 per weeks (sunday being my rest day). I have also consistently been counting my calories.

Last week my weight loss was minimal, but hey it was almost a pound and a half so that's ok. This week, nothing! I mean, halfway through the week I was 2-3 pounds down and now... nothing. I don't get it.

The only thing I can think of is that TOM is starting probably tomorrow, so that'll play a role on things. I tend to be a bit heavier then. Also, I know I haven't been drinking enough water. Not drinking enough water is not helping me with my bathroom issues! I haven't gone enough this week and I know that'll affect things a little bit.

Now, normally, I'd get depressed and not exercise for a couple weeks to a couple months, but I won't be doing that again. I know to lose weight I have to keep on going and giving up is not an option. Giving up definitely won't get me anywhere. So when I'm done on here I'm going to go do my DVD and it's a new one, Core Synergistics. Sounds kinda scary, lol.

Oh Risty, that blows that you are working so hard and not seeing the numbers!! Doh!!

Don't give up!! Something has to give. Try switching to lean meats and veggies, that will budge some pounds off for sure. I know easier said than done!

Risty,

You're last post is exactly like I wrote it myself. I worked so bloody hard this week. Spent no down time, did loads of exercise, at right, gave up loads of yummy things I like and still, no loss (well, .88lbs)!!

Arghhh!!!

MissJelly - I know I can tweek my diet a tad and that will help. I just should have seen SOMETHING. My exercise was spot on and my calories were good! I'm not giving up though, it's not an option :)

20to10 - Well it sucks we're both in the same predicament! Hopefully the scale will be our friend next week!

Yesterday - I did my core synergistics (1 hr). First time I did that one and it was hard. Core definitely feels it. Plus for my other site our team had a punishment and I have to do the deck of pain 4x this week. So I did my first one last night, took me 20 mins.) Also because of my other challenge I have to up my water, so I met my goal yesterday and halfway through it today. Unfortunately, I have to pee more because of it. But I need more water anyways so it's a good way of getting me to drink it, lol.

Today, I'll be doing Kenpo X. I'm really tired so I'll do it in a bit, or maybe after dinner. I don't know, I feel like I need a nap. I also may do my 2nd deck of pain today.

Love that commitment Baby  Inspiring to say the least.

When I feel over tired or irritable, I ask myself if I'm overtraining for my fitness level. I know your heart and mind feels like you can do 6 days/week hardcore exercise, but your bod may be saying "can I have just one more rest day in the week?"
