Risty's Diary (Christina)

Also I'm totally sorry I haven't been posting in your diary regularly. I've been in that funk and I'm finally out of it, and back on track. I do love reading your diary.

Aww, you guys! I almost cried reading all the encouragement. I love this site! LOL

Daisee and RJ thanks for the support, even if it's only every so often I love it and appreciate every word! I will try to stick to the plan as hard as it can be sometimes :)

Tammy, I know how it is to feel still fat even after losing the weight because like you, I can still see my fat. I know I won't be happy until I'm toned looking so even though it's better there's still a lot of work to be done but we can do it!

Blancita, no change on the scale yet. I'm actually only going to weight myself once a week because doing it everyday was frustrating me more and more during this plateau. Once it starts to come off more regularly again, then I'll look more often.

Rho I agree about the hormones. When it's near my TOM I'll crave things and eat a crappy item everyday or other day and it's like, why am I doing this? And then it's like oh! And then once that week is over of my weird cravings and eatings then I'm totally fine. So hopefully once that's over (plus with the muscle gain recently) I hope to see some change. Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it! And one day you will lose just as much! So no worries, take it one day at a time :D (Which is what I'm trying to do)

Lukewarm, I loves you! LOL I needed that hug and I gave it right back! Hehehe. I completely understand about the whole trying on clothes, even though to some it might not seem bad I totally agree that it really hurts. When I was heavier, I would almost break down crying in the mall trying to find clothes. Now I'm not so heavy, but still can't go to the nice stores in the mall, so hopefully one day ;) And I totally agree with you about the whole pizza thing, I mean I do try hard and exercise 6 days a week, I shouldn't feel guilty about the occasional pizza or treat. And even though I know it's ok to have a treat every so often and it helps me keep on track because I'm not depriving myself of what I love, the guilt still comes in anyways which is so stupid! lol About that promise, I do promise to be good to myself in all ways! So now we have to keep this promise ;) A little treat every so often is ok though ;) ;)

2Skinny
I really hope you're right! I do believe it's muscle as well (and maybe a tad of my eating, it hasn't been 100% for a week (but that doesn't account for the non weight loss during the rest of April!) so I think a big part is muscle.) I really do hope to see something soon!

Hi Risty; isn't the support on this site amazing? Sometimes it's downright overwhelming. My weight's moving really slow too, but we're developing such good habits. Be proud of yourself and your efforts. Here's to kicking butt this week and losing some more buttah!

Hey Risty,

I hope you feel better today...I had a not-so-great day today and I'm hoping tomorrow can come wash it all away. But I was just reading all your support messages and I was overwhelmed with all the support - tears actually came to my eyes... Ok, I'm tired with a headache, but it's true.

Have a great day. I look forward to your progress..

Howdy Risty,
I hope your feeling more uppity today!
You look great and no matter how many times people tell ya
you will not be happy until you are with yourself.Hope you have
a great day Tammy:)

Rho I hope you're feeling better. I read your diary and posted in it about your day, I really do hope tomorrow is a better day. When you said
was just reading all your support messages and I was overwhelmed with all the support - tears actually came to my eyes
that brought tears to my eyes! You support me so much and I appreciate it so much and I'm glad that I can do the same for you! It really makes me feel good that I can help someone, and I'm sure it makes you feel good to know you're helping someone a lot too :D

2Skinny I agree, the support is amazing. I'm so glad you put it that way, we are creating good habits. Sometimes I get off track but looking at it as a whole, it's much improved from before and I am proud of it :) We'll eventually get to our goals!

Wishes and MissLadyBug thanks for popping in. I appreciate it! And TOM is an ass!

Lukewarm thanks, I did enjoy supper! Chicken Teriyaki stir fry with veggies and rice noodles! YUM! LOL...

Tammy I am feeling more uppity today! Everyone here has helped so much with that :) I know that people can keep saying whatever but until I like myself I won't be happy. I know that when I reach my goal and I'm toned and fit I'll definately be happy with that!

Here's an update for today, I went to my CK class this morning (work a half day) and it was such a good workout! I know my legs will be sore tom ( and tom is our lower body day... gotta love that, lol). My eating today is good so far:
Breakfast: oatmeal with berries and a glass of skim milk
Snack: protein shake and 0.5c of fat free yogurt
Lunch: Whole grain toast with egg whites and salsa and 1c fresh spinach (needed a veggie, lol)
Snack: (it will be) 0.5c fat free yogurt with 0.25c of mixed unsalted nuts
Supper: (if it goes as planned will be) salad with grilled chicken breast, mushrooms, calorie-wise italian dressing and a side of steamed broccoli. Something to that effect.

So that's my plan for food! I hope it stays that way, lol.

WOW, that's some good food today! You go girl!! Okay, I know I see this in a lot of posts, but now I'm going to ask what is CK class?? cardio kickboxing? If that's it, tell me something do you like it?? My gym also has that class, but I always pass it up, please tell me all about it and if it's a good work out,
Later gator!

risty,
hi hows it goin? just stoppin in to say hi... Im thinking about starting a class, theres this place where i live called Boxing INC, its like 85 bucks a month, unlimted classes, they have boxing, muay thai, grappling, wresting, judo. Im pretty much sure im gonna do it... but not sure when... i think i want to get my conditioning a little more up to par before i take on a bill payment like that.

Oh Tom! You know I wasn't referring to you! lol By the way, thanks for the advice in your diary.

RJ I think that is an AWESOME idea, I think you should definately do it. I don't think you need to wait until you're conditioning is up though because it will do you so much good! With all those different options you'd definately get great workouts and it'll be different which is good for the body! I think I'm going to join kung fu once my cardio kickboxing is over :)

MissLadyBug, yes CK is my cardio kickboxing, I just get lazy to type the whole thing out especially since I say it often. I absolutely love it! We have different instructors so each class is very different. Some do more rhythmic (punches, kicks, boxer skipping, etc in the air) while others do more bag work. We start of with stretches, some are yoga type stretches and then we go to a warm-up of in the air punches and kicks (we don't do it hard until we're warmed up). Then some do more of the rhythmic but you put more force into it, some go to the bags and they show you diff combo's and you do them hard. For example they'll start you with doing a jab and then cross punch. You'll do that for a bit and then they'll tell you to do something like a front kick and round kick and then you do that for a bit. And then they get you to combine the two together and you do that for a bit. It's always different because there's so many different things you can do. Like today, she got us to go to one side of the room and then we had to step forward into a low lunge and then when stepping up we would have to front kick and we had to do that all the way across the room, man does that get your thighs going! Then after all of that kinda stuff we end off with pushups and situps and then more stretches.

I can't say how much I enjoy it. It never gets boring, it's an awesome workout, and I definately know I'm stronger! So hopefully that helps you out. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask :D

Hey Girl,
Just popping in to say hello! I've been MIA most of this week! The CK sounds like SO much fun! Something I would love to do!!

Update on my food with the cal's:

Breakfast: oatmeal with berries 0.5c and a glass of skim milk - 254 cals
Snack: protein shake and 0.5c of fat free yogurt - 179 cals
Lunch: Whole grain toast with egg whites and salsa and 1c fresh spinach - 166 cals (lower than I thought it would be... and I was quite full  )
Snack: 0.5c fat free yogurt with 0.25c of mixed unsalted nuts - 271 cals
Supper:salad (romaine and spinach) with grilled chicken breast, mushrooms, calorie-wise italian dressing and a side of steamed broccoli. - 262 cals
Total - 1135

So not enough, I will have a snack soon. I don't know what but maybe a smoothie with protein, or just a protein shake. Maybe popcorn, I dunno if that's even healthy.

Sticky Scale

Risty,

That darn scale! Doesn't it know you have been working really hard?

I was reading everyone's posts and you really do have a great support network on this site. Listen to them - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!

P.S. If this same message posts 3 times, know that I am technically challenged rather than intentionally rude!!!! :)

popcorn is good for you if you air pop it. oh and also not dribble it in butter and salt which is my fav!

Thanks again for making me feel better.

You gotta eat more than that but I am pretty sure you know that already.

Have you noticed it gets hard sometimes to eat enough cals?
