Renewing my sense of worth. Again.

This may be totally off subject but I was told that muscle cramps are caused by a lack of calcium. As per my DR when your muscle is lacking calcium it looses flexibility and tries to make itself sorter wich causes the cramps.
 
I'm glad your finally getting away from the pain and I agree that going into exercise slowly is a smart decision, no point testing your body to the max if it's just going to injure you again.

Congrats on the weight loss!
 
Gotta make this quick so I can get to bed- but todays food was okay, I DID have a piece of carrot cake, and then tonight my sister brought me home some shrimp scampi... oh jeez. Amazing.. Need to try to find a low cal way to do that myself!
FRICKIN cold here, we're at like day 86 or something of snow on the ground; my car has been stuck in its spot for the last 2.5weeks, lol, so thank god for the backup car! My windshield was a little icy on the way to the gym tonight, but when I got out of the gym it was way worse, so I get in my car, reach down to grab my ice scraper, sit up, annnnd yeah. The edge of it stuck on the seat and as I pulled on it, it snapped up and whacked me in the forhead :blush5: Oh my god. I already have a teensy little bruise forming. What an idiot!! lol. I still can't help but laugh tho. Horrible...
Anyway! Gym tonight: 75min crosstrainer, 5.29miles. That first 65(which is what the machine cuts off at) was 4.62miles, soooo its STILL way slower than I was going; but this is my own fault for taking so much time off. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again- its amazing at how much stamina and strength you lose in so short a time!! Dammn!
 
Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting is my favorite desert!! Scampi?? I love me some Scampi!!

Did I just read that you hit yourself in the forehead?? Girl!! Noooo!! You are accident prone! Poor Jess, don't let lifes bumps get you down, you manage to pull through so many injuries!!

How is that busted up finger from a few weeks back, any better?? I hope you have an injury free rest of the week.

MJ- finger is better! The nail is finally starting to grow out a bit, so its not tender anymore. I could DEFINITELY do without that again :rolleyes: yeahhh... I've never been SUPER accident prone, but the last coupla months have been AWEFUL!! Holy hell. Can't even explain. I think the worst I ever did was way back in high school, I used to straighten my hair everyday- and in MY day(hahaha god I feel old right now!) we didn't have the straightening irons without spending a small fortune, so I used a hair dryer and curling iron- and one day, the curling iron fell off of the table and landed on.my.bare.foot. Oh. My. God. I had a blister that roughly took up the whole top of my foot. That was some serious pain. Sooo, lol, I've had my moments, but a few of em take the cake fershur!
 
So today the temp got to right at 38-40! WOOO! Heat wave, man :) so it got a bit slushy and melty outside. I figured it was the best time to try to get my car out of its spot, annnd I still ended up having to dig out the tires a little, but I am officially driving my baby again...ahhh. So happy.
I usually always eat something deliciously bad at lunch time(ie- cake, donut, etc.) and today I ACTUALLY ate a fruit cup. I didn't WANT a fruit cup, lol, buuut I ate one. And it was pretty good :) I think I may have enjoyed the chocolate as much if not more, but at least the fruit was what I chose. Hoping to have that same willpower tomorrow, also ;)
Gym tonight: 90min crosstrainer, 6.31miles. The first 65 was my usual-ish pace- 4.61miles, the next 25min was slower, cool down mode-ish, for 1.7miles. Still couldn't bring myself to do weights... I'm so paranoid now! CRAP!

Owie! That curling iron story sounds aweful! Did you have to wear a shoe with that blister like that? Yikes! Worst I got was my neck a few times.

lollll! What I wouldn't do for only one snow day a winter :rolleyes: ... Unfortunately, its either put up with mother natures mood swings or move out of Montana, because it's NEVER what you think you're gettin :)
 
How come you don't want to do weights? I love weights...

I actually really LIKE weights, but a coupla weeks ago I pulled a muscle in my back (I think it was from rows on too much weight) and it hurt so bad that when it finally healed I got all nervous about it, lol! I did em tonight tho :) First time in a while :D
 
Ohhh man, I haven't been on here in a few days! Uggh. Its just been, well, uggh best describes it...lol. Been working nonstop, which isn't REALLY an excuse, because I've ALWAYS worked a lot; theres big drama and stress at work right now, friggin rediculous!- and that always makes things sooo much better, psh; started getting sick- hit me full blown yesterday( :( ) and I'm sure the stress isn't helping; and the worst thing EVER- my sister(that I live with) woke me up SCREAMING the other night at like 5am because there was something wrong with Cleo(our 13y/o cat that was our moms). I run into her room and she says Cleo ran under the bed, so I fling the bed outta the way(lol, rawwwrrr) and Cleo is friggin CONVULSING! Holy christ... our old lady kitty was having a seizure. Worst thing I have EVER seen happen. She's himalayan, so she has these big ole blue eyes, and her pupils were sooo dilated her whole eye was just black. Nothing else, she was all tensed up and shaking, and she was foaming and drooling... OH jeez. I'm in tears, Lacey's freaking out, GAA! It was aweful. It makes it worse because she was our moms cat, and our mom has been dead for over 6 years; I don't like to think of losing the last links, ya know? Plus, shit, I just love the cat. So, she comes out of it, drinks a teensy bit of water, and kinda wanders the house all slow like, acting like she has NO idea where this place is. Horrifying... Take her to the vet the next day, they say that at her age, just one of those things that happens. But they did bloodwork n stuff, and said she looks good. Thank GOD. So anyway, that day I only got 2.5hrs sleep before work, and ugggh. One thing after another. EFFFFF.

Anyway, since I have this horrible cold, thats right down in my lungs(EVERYTHING makes me cough, lol) my cardio was MUCH slower tonight. Almost embarrassingly so... 80min, 5.44miles. :blush5: very sad... But I did FINALLY do some weights! Its been a few weeks because I was so worried bout reinjuring that muscle, but I got in there n did it. Yayyy!
 
I hope you get well soon! When things get stressful for me at work, I usually always get sick, everytime! It really takes a toll on me.
 
Went to the gym VERY late tonight- I usually go 2am ish, tonight didn't get there till 4am. Ickk. I got off work at 1230am, hadta go to Walmart(God I hate that place) got home, was starving, so I decided to eat a little bit, ahem... Yeahhh, I ate like a bucket of spinach dip and fiber crackers. It was so delish! Omg, I just couldn't stop!! HORRIBLE! So, at about 345, I'm all- ohh, lookit the time! I'm not going to the gym now. Psh. BUT- I changed my mind; realized that if I DIDN'T go, I'd still sit up doing nothing :rolleyes: might as well get it done and make my lazy awake time count, yeah?! So anyway, get to the gym very late, theres already a decent little crowd working out(urrrg. I HATE having lotsa people at the gym when I'm there :( ) and luckily my machine was open. First off: after eating a gallon of spinach dip and fiber crackers, I was incredibly uncomfy. blah. Note to self: only eat a SMALL snack or meal before gym if neccessary.. Anyway- 65min crosstrainer, 4.55miles. Meh. Much better than yesterday, not as good as a coupla weeks ago. DID get a good sweat in tho, punched the crossramp and resistance to 11 on both sides. WOOOH! Thank god I wear headphones. I wouldn't wanna hear me wheezing up a storm, lollll. By the time I left the gym at bout 515am, there were so many people there I couldn't believe it. I just can't imagine waking up that early every day to workout! Ick! Yeah, I stay up VERY late, and maybe its no different, but once I'm asleep, lol, I do NOT wanna get up. More power to them. Maybe one day I'll find a way to join the group. Doubtful in the near future tho. ;)

I can relate to your cat experience - on Saturday night our cat got in a fight with a neighbourhood cat right on our front step - I could hear them talking so I went to the door and then all of a sudden they were going at it like crazy! There was fur everywhere and I had to shut the door to get them to stop - it was the worst thing I have ever seen happen to animals - there was blood all over the place. I went to another door in the house and called Max with some treats and he came slowly - my hunnie wasn't home and it's his cat - I don't know anything about cats because I always grew up with dogs but I went to pet him and he had three claws stuck in his head! It was so awful - glad your kitty is going to be ok for now - ours is doing good too but he's afraid to go outside now.
I laughed pretty hard when I read about how you thought those morning people working out where crazy yet you hadn't even been to bed yet!! That's pretty funny - I could never work out at 3am despite what time I got up or what I was used to - I just wouldn't do it so good for you! Hope your cold gets better fast!
 
Awwww Jess, I hope your cat is better and I hope you are better too. Congrats on working out when you didn't feel like it, that's always so hard but rewarding when your finished with your work out. And I hate Walmart too so I feel your pain on that.
 
SHOULD be going to the gym tonight. NOT gonna go tho. Feel like crap. Bad cramps. Just wanna curl up under the covers with my heated mattress pad turned to high and read a book :) Technically tomorrow night was suppose to be my night off from the gym, but I'm just gonna swap em. Blah...
 
Still feel kinda icky, but in a really good mood... weird?? I think maybe... ;) It COULD be because it was 54 degrees yesterday.. YAY! I got to have my sunroof open, and people were all about shorts n tank tops. The change in weather will do me some good, fershur! Was sposeta have tomorrow off work; ended up picking up a shift :( oh well, extra money :rolleyes: St. Patricks day I'm going to Butte with some friends: Butte is the butthole of the world every day of the year except for St Pattys, lol! Its got one of the biggest Irish populations in the country, so its a party from sunup to sundown. Wanna TRY* to lose like 5lbs before then. Just a coupla weeks!
