Renewing my sense of worth. Again.

Sorry to hear that Jess...I hate not being 100% during a diet it makes the whole thing much harder.

I hope you feel better soon :)

Thanks guys :) On the upside: Feeling MUCH better today! DID end up getting a lot of sleep last night, and tho I still feel a little blah, I feel a lot better. My muscle doesn't hurt so bad today, YET, but at the gym tonight(and I WILL be there!) I'm gonna keep sticking with mostly cardio, light weights in areas that won't aggravate it. Errg. Hate that  Be back later!

Hi Jess! Haven't been on much. So sorry to hear you got an injury!

I'm sure you'll get right back on track with your kick ass committment and can-do attitude, you'll see the pounds dropping off you in no time!

Feel better soon!

I just wanted to WOW and that I admire the fact that you find the time to work out.......I wish I had that much determination. Congrats keep up the good work!

Hey Jess(393) :D

I read something about dvr-ing a show. What show? I'm not up to date with all of my acronyms. :p Hey, did anyone catch Titanic last night? It was playing at 7pm on tbs! Awesome movie...

Anyways, about the cramps. I know i don't have much good advice to give, but for cramps I can give some advice. I used to play basketball in high school, And in college i used to suffer from cramps from smoking waay too much (I don't smoke anymore), but what I can say is this -- you can avoid getting ANY type of muscle cramps (I have no clue about your 'monthly' cramps, i have no idea about the anatomy of those types of cramps) but about regular muscle cramps, in the legs, and abs, and thighs, there is one solution that works -- and that is you have to Hydrate yourself! I know it seems self-evident, but the truth is that when we flood our muscles with fluids, we don't allow the chemicals to build up that give us cramps to begin with...

Also, a funny story. When I was flying from Boston to Atlanta, I was sitting in the front of the Economy class cabin. I was at a conference in Boston and I hadn't slept in the last two days (ALSO, SLEEP is great for getting the muscles back into good shape..) but the lack of sleep had kept the chemical build-up in my muscles. On top of that, I was smoking all day, and sitting on the flight, half way through I got a cramp on my upper-inner-thigh!

I panicked! And got up from my seat, and with your calf you can usually fix a cramp from standing up straight, but this had NO effect on the inner-thigh!!! So I grabbed my leg, and RAN through the business class cabin, and up to the stewardesses!!! (Imagine if this happened after this Christmas!) I tell the stewardess what happened, and she shoved me into the bathroom which was right up in the front of the plane. She told the other stewardess to get my a bag of ice and two cans of tonic-water (which containts Quinine). The stewardess proceeds to massage my upper-thigh in the bathroom, while the other brought me the tonic-water to drink... Anyways, I chugged the drinks and the cramp passed in a couple minutes.

It was funny because all the passengers were first startled at this big man running to the front of the plane, then seeing me go into the bathroom with the stewardess, only to come out with my pants went from the melting ice.

Moral of the story, Quinine actually is good to release cramps!! but also, remember to always Hydrate yourself! And... getting sleep (with hydration) will ensure you keep those cramps away... ..so long as you don't start running marathons without drinking water! =D

Thank you :) At the moment, my normal can do attitude is nowhere in sight. Pretty sure its just the muscle pain doing it to me, but even still; if does manage to take me down a peg. Horrible...

:) Normally my determination is constant; this week not so much! Hate that. grr. Thanks for stopping in :D

lol, it was Biggest Loser. Eff, I was so mad that it didn't record. grr. Titanic, hahaha! I totally watched about the first hour of it before I had to get some stuff done, lol. Haven't watched it in forever...

I've decided this ISN'T a cramp... I think I legitimately pulled something- its so HORRIBLE!! I was at a friends house last night, and LAUGHING made me wanna cry. how stupid. I useta work at a health food store, and people went crazy trying to find quinine- I'd forgotten all about that till you posted this. I drink soooo much water that I never have a problem with muscle cramps, but I do think you're right about the sleep- I don't, unfortunately, sleep enuf, and I think that could have a lot to do with it.
Lol @ the plane story! hahahaaaa, pretty sure I woulda giggled a little seeing ya walk outta the bathroom like that. Just READING it makes my day. Terrific, lol.

Decided to take ONE more night off from the gym. I'm feeling pretty frickin blah right now- and yeah, I think some of it is dealing with pain( wahh, right? lol) but my attitude is SO much better when I'm working out every day, and I think not getting in there and sweating it up has me dealing with the blues a bit too. Tomorrow, I work till 1230am, I'll be in the gym after work. It may not be a workout with the usual intensity I have, but I need to go. I wanna be hot and skinny, fershur, but I also just wanna FEEL good, and as much as I like sitting in my sweatpants all day, lol, I like having a good attitude. Annnd I just don't have one right now, haha! So, tomorrow, for POSITIVE, will be there. Even if its only light cardio, I've gotta. Otherwise I'm gonna revert to my pound of chocolate a day habit. Uggh. I don't wanna see 15lbs wasted like this :(

Hear Hear!! Me too!! It is time for us girl, and when we do it, I say we take a trip back to Vegas!! This time let's hit up some new clubs tho, that last night killed my self esteem!!

Hey Jess,

Sorry to hear about your painful week. I know how hard an injury can be to deal with, especially when you have every desire to work out but can't because of the injury. Just stay focused in every other way and get back to the gym when it doesn't hurt so much.

And hey, sorry I've been a bit absent lately.

Ohhh yeah! I totally agree! And yeah, club Pure can kiss my "fat chick" ass. Psh. Whatevv. I STILL maintain that we looked frickin amazing that night!

And hey, sorry I've been a bit absent lately.

nahhh, you've had a lotta crap to deal with lately! We've all gotta deal with stuff now and then, and as long as you don't neglect yourself in the process, there's nothing to worry about :)

By the way: Next week- you and me, Black Team- we're gonna kill it!

Today was a pretty good day :) Other than a dissapointing no loss weigh-in, I felt very good in general. I knew I was gonna be going to the gym tonight, and that made me feel a little more energetic in itself. I didn't have any pain whatsoever from my muscle, so that was a bonus too, AND let me know I didn't hafta go super slow on cardio when I finally got to it.
Food was good also- although I DID eat this lonely hot pocket thats been in our freezer for a while, lol. I'm broke as EFF, and at a certain point, ya just start dealing with what ya have, hehe.
Gym: JUST cardio tonight. Just because I didn't have any pain from the muscle in my back/rib area doesn't mean I wanna test it out quite yet... Crosstrainer, 65min, 4.66miles. Soooo yeah, its definately a bit slower than I was going last week, but I did end up taking a total of 4days off from the gym; amazing how much stamina ya can lose in that amount of time! Still, I felt/feel good about it :)
Another closing shift tomorrow night; work 11am the day after, so I've gotta get right to the gym after work tomorrow night to ensure I get a decent amount of sleep.

Jess,

Glad to see you're back to working out. It'll really come back slowly but you'll get your stamina and endurance back. We can *so* do this!

It's brilliant people have begun to notice your loss. For me, I lost it all in 2007, then put it all back on in 2009 so the people I work with are well used to me gaining and losing over and over! :( But I notice and the measuring tape noticed!

Let's get this off ASAP!

Today was a good day :) The scale said the lowest number its said in a longggg time. I'm NOT gonna get my hopes up- too much of a chance that I could be the same weight on Tuesday, what with fluctuations and whatnot- but it made my day :) the GYM on the otherhand, ugggh! I wasn't really very excited to go, and once I got there, it was hard to push myself like normal... Stuck with just the cardio again- probably do this another week, if not a little less, to avoid stressing that muscle- crosstrainer: 65min, 4.63miles. Errrg. Far cry from the 4.76 I was doing a week ago! Its okay. I did it, thats all that matters, lol. But anyway- that cardio was tough. Yuck! My heart rate was a lot higher than normal, and I couldn't catch my breath. Probably all those damn days off in a row. Eff. Anywayyyy, gonna try to make tomorrow night a good workout to make up for it all! :)

Congrats on seeing that low number! I am in the same boat girl! Had a hard time doing my 62 minutes of Cardio last night, but I hung in there anyway. It's paying off for both of us!! Keep at it!!
