Hi Renee! I'm so excited for you, you're really off to a great start. I admire what you're doing, especially all that exercising at night when you're tired. It shows your level of commitment and its really inspiring.
Do you mind if I just jump in and make a few suggestions since you asked in your first post?
Just because you didnt log your foods the other night, I bet you still remember roughly what you ate. How about logging it and seeing how many calories REALLY were in those foods. This is NOT meant for you to feel guilty, overwhelmed by the calories or to make you feel bad in any way. This is more a tool to get yourself a reality check, but without allowing yourself to feel bad about it. What's done is done. But I bet if you knew how many calories you had that day, it would help you a bit in the future. To be honest, all the years that I calorie counted a rough estimate in my head, I would ALWAYS give up counting as I was starting to overeat/binge. Convenient huh? But this is really where I should've kept counting. I ate em, so why not account for it. Again, don't fall into the guilt trap as guilt is a wasted emotion when we're hurting only ourselves and not others.
Second suggestion is to buy a bunch of healthy snacks -- as you seem to be doing -- so when you feel like eating a lot, as most of us in this forum no doubt do LOL, at least you're eating a bunch of healthy stuff that probably amounts to less than 1/2 the calories of say a normal day's binge. My favorites are Kashi cereal, waffles or oatmeal w/ raisins (that's got a lot of fiber and protein so its filling) with nonfat milk (you'll get used to the taste if you're not already), strawberries and banana with lite cool whip, fruit ice pops (they're like 40 calories so you can binge on 6 of them and not feel bad), chicken breasts with cheese on nice bread, baked sweet potatoes with some butter, nonfat yogurt..those are a few ideas.
Anyway, I just joined the forum so I did a journal as well to hopefully keep me a bit more accountable. Hope to see each other around here
