Ready To Conquer The Beast

Sounds like a good challenge. Whatever your goals may be...Did you meet them for the day? Great! Get points.

I like that. My goal is to sweat 2 times a day. Whether it be 30 mins in morning and at night...or whatever, just SWEAT! I'd join. ;)!

LOL does this include when I break into cold sweats at work cos I think I've messed something up big time and not submitted appeals to the tribunal courts in time for a deadline or left something out of a negotiation?!?!?:! hehehehe happens to me on a regular basis.....

Sounds like a good challenge hon! I like the positive reinforcement of "well done, you met YOUR goal".

I'd definitely join the challenge :) I can relate with all that you are saying...the scale throws me off my game too. I really like your plan though - not weighing in until the clothes are loose. That's what I am going to do... It's too easy to get caught up in the numbers game!

Good job on staying positive, Dou! It's definitely a challenge for me sometimes :) You're ideas are great and I look forward to reading more of them :)

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around. I was having alot of stress for about a week and not feeling like logging in but after that I've been having huge internet issues. I actually posted once before but it took 5 minutes just to get the page to load...then when I hit enter and walked away cuz it was taking too long I came back and it said it had been interrupted or timed out or something. Which prolly was for the best because it was just a huge rant/pity party post anyway, lol.

I'm working on getting some major organization done at my house and my next plan of attack is to put together a menu ahead for a whole month and then cook as much ahead as I can and freeze or have instructions for having it done up in the fridge for whichever week. I'll keep you guys posted once it's started but right now I'm tackling the two spare rooms that became "catch all's".

I've been pretty unhappy as of late and decided to do what I can about it...organization is part of that. Also if I can get our food situation under control it'll save us money. Plus I'm hoping to take on a second job...part time of course which would alleviate the financial stressk and I can't do that and stick to any healthy eating without some sort of planning.

Anyway I've gotta run...cleaning and company is coming over tonight. I'll try to catch up with everyone soon! *hugz* ~Lisa

awww HUGZ

Sorry to hear that things have been rough. Its good to hear that you have decided to take it by the scruff of the neck and shake it about a bit to improve what you can where you can.

Hope you come back soon and let us know how the big baking/food prep session went.

Hey Lisa! It's great to see you post! I'm glad to see you are back.

I'm so sorry you're having so many problems right now. I know that stress can make it difficult to keep on track. Just remember that there will always be stresses in life, but the healthier you are the better your mind and body will be able to cope with that stress. Stay on the path to better health, sweetie!

Miss your posts, so don't stay way too long! :D Keep us posted!

*hugs*

Hi, sorry you are going through so much stress at the moment. Don't give up what ever you do. We are all here to help and support you. I know it's harder when you are having stress but at least if you can get the health part of your life sorted then the rest will not seem so hard. Having healthy meals prepared in the freezer is a great idea as you are then more likely to make good choices. You can do it!!!!!!!!:grouphug:

Just checking up on some of my favorite people :) how is the organizing going. I hope you got your internet issues cleared up. You are doing great so far. I see your ticker has moved some. Dont give up and keep trying no matter what :)

Lisa, where are you girl? Why are some of my favorite people not posting lately? :(

Don't give up! Come back and get your weight loss on! :D We miss you!

Oh my goodness! Where are you!? It's 9 days shy of a month since you've been on. Come back! We miss you!

You're totally going to make me turn stalker on you huh? lol JK. But we do miss you, hun. I hope everything is going well. Stop by and let us know how you're doing. *hugs*

Hey guys :) Wow you all checked up on me even though I wasn't on here :D That makes me feel good!

So here's where I'm at. I've been super busy and the stress hasn't stopped coming but I feel like we're at a crossroads now and getting somewhere. I've organized my whole house top to bottom and only have a little bit left of some papers to finish filing and some odds and ends stuff to do but I think that's normal there will always be SOMETHING left to do.

The awesome thing is that one of the two junk rooms is now spotless with one corner a vanity and table for me to get ready at in the mornings and the rest of the room has my treadmill, stationary bike and a TV hooked up with a VCR so I can use my old workout videos. Not sure about some of them but I have one Richard Simmons video that's definitely do-able.

I also have house chore lists made up and on a bulletin board, a master grocery list in my computer and I've done a ton of freezer cooking. In the last few cooking days I've made 10 meatloaves, 10 side dishes of make ahead mash potatoes, and 6 pounds of pre cooked taco meat. I also cooked up a few pounds of regular for hamburger helper I have to use up. I think what the most work was the 8 quarts of spaghetti sauce though and the 130 (10lbs) of meatballs I made to go in it.

Ironically I was talking to my cousin today and she started up freezer cooking again too so hopefully we can do some days together and get more done. I need to do chicken next since I have some from a sale already.

As far as my weight goes I haven't been watching my calories but I've been trying to not over eat non stop. So on the plus side my weight is right where it was when I stopped in July...no loss but no gain either. It probably helps that I've been taking my metformin like I'm supposed to and extra vitamins too. Anyway I'm not going to be able to be on here a ton like I was because I'm trying not to sit at my computer too much. But I'll try to catch up with everyone soon...may take a bit since it's been a few months, lol.

Great to see you back and to hear that things are going well with you :)
Wow you are so organized. I wish that I could be like that. It's really worth all the hard work just to be able to pull meals out of the freezer and should be a lot of fun to cook with your cousin.
Hope to hear more from you and well done on not gaining. :)
hugs

Lovely to see you pop back in - don't leave it so long next time!! The workout room sounds great - makes it so much easier to pop in and do something if its all clear and easy to get started.

Oh and congrats on NOT gaining weight even without watchign calories etc... specifically. I know I'd have a real struggle if I was doing that much cooking not to munch a little bit here and there on top of proper meals so well done!

Hey I always said I wish I could be like that too...it took two months but once you find a place for everything it gets SOOO much easier. The house stays cleaner on its own now...well seems like it anyway. Of course by organizing we rearranged furniture and re-purposed rooms so the house makes sense so it took the last few months. I just took one room at a time. As far as the cooking goes thats easy once the house is clean and organized. I forgot to mention I even got a bunch of repairs done because all the tools are in the other spare room now on a shelf and in tool drawers and boxes.

Thanks jjjay! Amazingly I haven't used the workout room yet....not for working out anyway :X As far as the eating goes, trust me when you're cooking hamburger all day there's no tempation to munch. In fact I didn't feel like eating much at all which I think is pretty common when you're doing a ten hour stretch of cooking. I ended up eating salads with NO MEAT for about 3 days and my house smelled like burgers for that long, lol.

hehehe I know what you mean - when I was a teenager I worked at my school tuck shop and was allowed a free chocolate bar each shift as well as my wages. Needless to say after the first week, I didn't want to even look at another chocolate bar and it took years to get back into liking them!

So I'm not sure why but I've had some odd times of feeling exhausted lately. Like today I got up after plenty of sleep and we were getting ready to go run errands when suddenly it hit me. I laid down on the couch for about ten minutes and it passed. I'm taking my metformin and vitamins, including iron. We've cut out fast food and I'm drinking plenty of water...plus I still drink ice tea so its not caffeine withdrawl. This happens on and off but I assumed before it was being low on iron but not sure now. Oh well...guess just keep doing what I know to do and hopefully once I drop some more weight my energy levels will even out.

I have days like that as well. I find that if I exercise a bit or keep busy as soon a s I get up it gives me more energy for the rest of the day but if I start off slow then I seem to get slower as the day goes on, although that probably wasn't the case as it seems like it was soon after you got up. The weight does make a huge difference to energy levels. I feel a lot more energetic now than I used to.

Ironic I keep saying I'm back then disappear for another month. I've gotten alot of stuff in my life in order but for some reason do not want to tackle this. I just really hate having to keep track of everything I eat...but then that's the only way this is going to happen.

Anyway my health and weight issues are holding me back...keeping me in a job I no longer want to be in. So my goal is just starting today, Oct 1st, and the next 6 months to commit to this and lose as much weight as possible.

Food for today so far

Breakfast : 1 cup kashi cereal, 1/2 cup silk soy milk
