Rah's Diary started May 07

Hi

Internet security ran out so i havent been able to get on the internet for what seems like forever!!!

The hen weekend was amazing was so funny and i managed to make the better choices when it came to food and drink i had vodka and diet cokes stayed away from all the cakes and brownies that were around (very hard to do) i took fruit salad with me for breakfast both days and dinner on the sat night i picked steak with veg and had 4 chips (fries) yes a whole 4!! lol
Weigh in on wed had me 0.5lb on but im sure it was that the scales were in a different room (On carpet) instead of the normal hard floor

This week has also been hard mentally for me i wanted to confort eat so much but resisted as far as i could so im happy with that and now feel confient for a loss on wednesday fingers crossed

I have a huge spot on my chin :(

well im off to catch up with everyone
Sarah

Sorry to hear about the spot on your chin. If you make sure you drink plenty of water it may help.

I am pleased that you enjoyed the weekend away. Well done for limiting the chips to four and taking the fruit salad. That would be why the gain for a weekend away was so modest. It will be off in no time.

Sorry to hear about the internet security problems. I would find it very difficult not being able to get to the forum.

Good luck for the scales this week.

Take care
Love
Margaret

5km run in July

Ok so i have been thinking for a while i need to get serious and get fit, to do this I need something to aim for so I have decided I will join a 5km run (Tesco Race for life) All the money raised goes to Cancer Research UK so another reason to take part
My local event is at the start of july about 12 weeks away so I have plenty of time to build up to it, I ran 1km today and i nearly collapsed so I have work to do
I have had a quick look on the internet and they say a woman should run it in about 18mins!!! i think i will aim for under 30mins and i will be very happy
You never know if i manage this i may be running the london marathon in a few years! (my friend did it this year and i have so much respect and quietly jealous!!!)

Right im off to sign up for it
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Thank you, I was made up loosing 4 last week.
It sounds like you did really well on the hen weekend making good choices and eating fruit. Well done!

Dont worry about the little gain, Im sure you will have that off (and more) on Wednesday.
Best of luck x

Hi Sarah!
Sorry for not showing up much lately!
I'm so glad to read you decided to run a 5km race. That's really a good way to challenge yourself and to push yourself to do better and better. I'm sure you'll be able to remain under 30 mins. Let me know how your training's going!

Hugs

Hey Rah,
Thought I would jump into your diary and say hey. Thanks for stopping into mine. It was nice hearing from you. I read some of your diary up to this post. Sounds like your doing well. Good for you! and the loss is wonderful, I bet you must feel incredible.. Keep trecking hun!
and a race, wow, I would love to do something like that, but I have drank so much soda in my life, I am afraid my bones wouldnt be built up for that, but I was thinking of starting to job at some point, but need to get the stamina back!~

But I love your determinations

Keep trecking

Hey Sarah,
I wanted to run the race for life in honour of my mom who is a breast cancer survivor, but it is so early in london, that I don't think I will be able. ON the elliptical I can do 6 k in 25 minutes so I guess I would be ok, if I trained for like a month for it...
How do you participate? Do you have to fill out some kind of form? Because you need sponsors right? But my man and all of my friends would sponsor me, I am sure! If you come on and have tim, I would really appreciate you answering!

Hi Sarah,

Well done on the 1.5lb loss! you will be under 14 stone in no time =D
Good luck with the gym and your weight loss for this week.

:waving:Hi Sweetie
Congratulations on your recent loss! And on starting to train for the 5K! That is very exciting and may even be life changing for you. I really enjoy my time on the treadmill these days, though I have found that I need to stick to a higher ratio of walking to running in order to spare my foot.

It sounds like your job is keeping you interested and learning lots, too! Your life is going well these days, and weight loss will be the *ahem* icing on the cake! hee hee

Keep up the great work,:hurray:

Hi Camy

Im running for 3 people my best friends mum who is also a breast cancer survivor but also 2 of my hubbys aunties who both have breast cancer and are fighting through
I went on line and joined that way really simple to do there is a £12.50 joining fee i think thats to cover admin and facilities on the day etc but the sponsorship is up to you as little or as much as you want to
I dont runa t the mo so i am thinking 30mins is being unrealistic i think i just want to make it to the finsh lol
There is a pack they send you in the post i am not sure whats in it as im still waiting for mine they said about 21days and im on day 5 so a while yet

Hope this helps

Sarah

thanks everyone for dropping in it really means a lot to me

Well the running isnt getting up to speed as i hoped but i am on 1.3km so better than none i think i was a bit harsh on myself lol

Weight loss this week i am hoping for at lease 1lb loss

I was at a wedding last night and did quite well i had no buffet i made sure i ate before i went so i wasnt tempted and it worked so quite happy with that

Im in work tomorrow (sunday) on a 12-8pm so its very tempting to pick at 'bad' foods while in work but i have got extra fruit in and hoping that i will last till i get home for dinner hubby is cooking lamb chops with mash peas and carrotts yum

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Well done with the gym this week and being soo good at the wedding! Buffets are the worst bloody thing when you are trying to diet.

Im sure that 1lb will be off on wednesday, you will be in work now so I hope its going okay and the fruit is keeping you going. Enjoy you dinner tonight, it sounds lovley!

Good luck for wednesday =D

Hi Sarah

Good luck at the scales for hitting your new milestone. 14 stone was a great milestone for me. I wanted to get there before my school reunion - but in fact got down to there a couple of days later. The fact is that no-one knows at functions like that exactly what you weight - so it would have made no difference to what I looked like.

Well done for being so controlled at the wedding. Events like that are tricky for us all.

It is a great challenge - you doing the race for life. You will get a wonderful sense of accomplishment out of managing that. I might get round to doing something like that next year.

Take care
Love
Margaret

I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT
Im 13 yes 13 stone 13.5pounds i am under that 14stone mark WOO WOO

So happy my mini target is 13stone 4lb that my 'club 10' when i have lost 10% of my weight so thats next

I have another wedding this weekend, its the whole day though so may be harder that last one the meal sounds good but its the evening i am thinking about more but picking the better option and im sure i will get though

I didnt go the gym today but i am going tomorrow as i am on a half day so can spend the afternoon go the gym then for a swim and steam and sauna (by far the best bit about going :))

Sarah

Im really please for me too LOL

Today is my half say at work so i thought i would catch up with everyone then head the gym
My plan is to get to 5 km but walk 3 and run 2, and a bit on the bike and Xtrainer if i can make it

We have just brought the Wii fit so once hubby is home (im under strict instructions not to open it before then) we can have a go on that, it measures your BMI and you can set targets on there. there are 4 sections that you can work through, yoga and balance are 2 (not sure on the other 2) but i think yoga will be good as it will tell you when your doing it wrong something dvd's dont do!!!

Im at a wedding tomorrow and cant wait

Will check in soon
Sarah

Hey, lady! Congratulations on your new low! You are doing spectacularly well on your journey! :auto: Well done on self-control at the wedding(s) and also on your prep for the big run! You are inspiring me!

Enjoy your weekend, and your new WII! Let us know how it is.

cheers
ABBA

Sarah I wanted to tell you that I am running the race for life!!! You inspired me and I am doing it July the 19th in Regent's park!!!
I am training myself with the reebok scheme they propose! I hope by then I will be well into the 130ies (or even 120ies)!
I love the Wii, at home (where my parents live) we play a lot of tennis, bowling and golf! It is so much fun!!! But beware highly addictive!!!

Just wanted to tell you that!! How much are you hoping to raise? I set a target of 250 £ because all my friends are students and they won't be able to donate huge amounts! I wanted to do 1000 £ but that would have been highly delusional!
Have a great weekend, Camy
