Put ur hands up slowly, & step away from the cupcake!!!

Thanks for the support everyone! :) Lisa - it is a HUGE relief to see the famiy getting along. For a while there they were all acting like teenagers...And man, I just couldn't deal with that lol I'm glad you come to read my journal, and don't worry about responding right away! We all have lives right? :) I like popping in to see what's going on with your journal too, you have so many great ideas and you've been inspiring me to keep plugging away at this :) I really don't think I would have made it this far if I didn't come to this forum. It's only been 1 1/2 weeks for me here, but typically I would have given up a week ago, that's how I know this is going to be the best thing ever for me.

Thanks again everyone for all the support, everyone here means so much to me and I'm so happy that we're all here for each other. Sorry guys, looks like I'm a wee bit sentimental today LOL

Hope everyone is having a great day so far! Mmmm oatmeal and blueberries here I come!

So I jumped on the scale this morning. I don't know if I am expecting too much, but I was disappointed with my 1.5lb loss. I guess I was expecting a little more. lol. I'm just happy that the number is going down. Who knows, maybe I am retaining water or something like that. I also took my measurements again and I'm posting my overall loss in inches...

Neck 16.5 (-1)
Chest 53.5 (-2)
Waist 53 (-5)
Hips 60 (-4)
Thigh 30 (-2)

So there we go... :) Hope everyone is having a good day so far!

XO :piggy:

I've been losing weight consistently week by week and average about 1 lb a week. 1 and a half lbs is great, I only achieved this 3 times in 5 months so you are doing great :)

Whoa! Five inches off your waist? That is fantastic! And the 1.5 pounds is nothing to sneeze at either. Congratulations!

Whao! 5 inches off the waist! That's amazing! :D You're doing wonderfully!

Thanks everyone for the posts... :blush5:

5" off the waist....

"whoa!" is exactly what I thought too lol. It usually comes off the chest like that first (which is a really good thing for me lol) but I'm not complaining! Inches lost are great, wherever they come off :D

I am so excited about tomorrow for the Highland Games! It's held at a small stadium nearby and my husband competes every year in the heavy events. If you have never heard of this before, you should google it! Basically a bunch of people in kilts competing in various events and drinking scotch (not me, scotch smells like dirty socks and tastes like ass -lol :D ). Both my husband and I are of Scottish heritage, and we loooove going. I'm looking forward to seeing Bryan throwing around a telephone pole LOL. Looks like the weather is going to be great too! :)

I'm preparing for this by packing a bunch of healthy snacks, and wraps for lunch. This should keep me away from the consession stand! *fingers crossed*

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! :)

XO :piggy: --->this little piggy is so cute!!

I feel the same way! I just finished week 3 and this forum helps keep me focused. Strangely for me, even though this is online, the in person weight loss meetings like weight watchers seem less personal and so many people just being "social" cuz they have to. On here there's so many people that you can make friends with people you connect with and the support is genuine. Plus, pls everyone forgive me for sayin this but nothing got on my nerves more than being the ONLY fat person at WW meeting and a bunch of size 5 women in their early 20s complaining they needed to get some self control.

Anyway sounds like you're going to have an awesome weekend! My husband don't get out enough together and do things but hopefully that'll change as we feel better. After seeing all the inches you've lost I think I'm going to have to get my DH to help me with measurements. All those inches you've lost is truly inspiring. Anyway I need to go get some stuff done around the house, catch up with you later to find out how it all went :D

ROFL! That would make me nuts. I think I'd end up slapping those girls and shouting - You're size 5, you don't need to lose weight! What the hell is wrong with you?! lol

Don't wait until you feel better to get out and move the booty. :) Believe it or not exercise makes you feel better and gives you more energy. My boyfriend and I go walking together at least twice a week (that's in addition to me working out several times a week). Not only does walking together bring us closer together but darned if I don't wake up to extra weight lost on the scales the next day. :D

I wish he would but unfortunately he won't walk with me. But it's hard for me to get him out of the house to do ANYTHING except maybe eat out once in a while or see a movie. The bulk of his time is spent playing video games...and for a time I figured if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. But that only provided an escape that made things worse....now I when I do have time I don't even know what to do for fun. Plus I don't mind doin stuff alone sometimes but over all it's not that enjoyable. Before we moved away I'd at least get out with my friends but not here. I'm going to work this year on changing all of this and figuring out where my happy place is again but stress and financial problems aren't helping at the moment. Sorry for hijacking your thread sugar, lol.

Yeah, it has to be tough to be more active when the man of the house is a couch potato. I know with the financial issues that it's tough to get out and do stuff, but perhaps there is a local walking group that meets up a couple times a week, or like Over Eaters Anonymous or another type of support group that meets up - some place to meet people who are also on the journey to getting the pounds off. You might do some research and find out if there are people in your area who can be a supportive net in your weight loss efforts. We all can use a good support network, and yeah, the internet is great for that, but sometimes you just want someone to go out and DO something with. :)

I feel you on the move thing - I know how that feels. I moved across country from my home town (and all my family and friends) a couple years ago, and still haven't made any real solid friendships here. It's tough being so far a way from the people that I love. But I look at it like this - those are the people that enabled me to get to nearly 400 pounds, perhaps it's best I do my weight loss efforts away from them. LOL

We have only WW's types and Topps, neither of which I'm impressed with. I'm not really into the group setting for weight loss so I was glad to find this forum. It gives me the support I need without the obligation of a meeting to attend. I just didn't have alot in common with the last groups I tried...as I said earlier too many skinny people who had no business there or alot of people WAY older than me who I didn't really relate to. The other bad thing is when you have friends also focusing on weight loss and they fall off the wagon, they try to get you to do it too. I have been thinking alot lately though about finding a good church group to go to but with everything else going on, it's something easy to put off.

I guess that's the problem is I've never liked planned/scheduled group things. With my friends back home we always just were spontaneous and I miss that. Just being able to call one up and meet up for coffee or running errands.

Yeah, but first you have to get out there and meet people, and one of the only ways to do that (that I know of) is those group settings you're not often fond of. lol You can't make a friend that you can call up to go have coffee with if you don't get out there and meet them first. heh :) Though I know that may be difficult right now considering the car situation. Oh! Are there local forums that you can join? You can always meet someone online and then once you guys get comfortable chatting you can take into the real world. Just a suggestion. ;)

Ok, don't mind me, I'm trying to be all advice girl and you might just be looking to vent. I'll shut up. lol

Just don't get discouraged and fall off the wagon. We're here for you. If you can lose weight with all the stress that is going on in your life then you can do anything, hon! If you're anything like me, it's so easy to turn to food in times of stress, but those are old habits that no longer serve a purpose. A new you, a new start. *big hugs*

Very good point and that's prolly part of my problem. Between work and home not like I'm going to run into anyone...I'm not all that approachable if somebody just comes up to me in public anyway, lol. Too many weirdos in my hubby's town :X. So yea I prolly need to bite the bullet and find a church.

I'll try not to. So far I've kept my calories in line still even bein really stressed and earlier today when I just wanted to stuff my face so I filled up on fruit and then found something else to do. Strategy games help me alot when I'm stressed cuz if I'm thinking I can't dwell on other stuff.

and again, really sorry for hijacking your diary sugar, they really need to put the chat room back on top the forum, lmao

Hope you're having a good weekend *hugz*

Don't worry about it Dou! I'm glad that you were able to vent! :) I hope you had a good weekend. I know how you feel about WW and topps. I have tried going and every time I went to go weigh in, I got looked up and down. God help me If I gained a lb, cause some skinny lady would again, look me up and down, and say some snotty remark. I couldn't believe it! ANYway, that's my little rant lol.

Something funny for the Monday blues....when my husband sneezes...it smells like honey! No joke! It's the weirdest thing!! hahahahahaha ya, that's my little story...hope you enjoyed it LOL

I had a pretty good weekend :) We went to the highland games and Bryan came in 3rd overall in his division, his personal best. I am so proud of him! He's into heavy events, so basically he throws around heavy stuff and ppl measure how far he can throw it. LOL. I got so sun burnt though... boo sun burns! It was overcast for the morning and then it got so super hot out...I have VERY fair skin and burn easily though...I guess the 5 applications of sunscreen were not enough :p lol

Regardless of being transformed into a lobster, it was a great Saturday lol I packed a cooler full of fruits and veggies, and we picked up a couple sandwiches from the grocery store. I stayed away from the concession stands. *Yayeeee*. I cut loose that night though and had a couple of boozy slushy drinks...weeeellllllll....I had four of them, thats a few more then a couple....whatever! It was gooooood times :) I went over my daily calorie budget by about 1000...LOL oops! I figure, if I didn't just give myself a break I would end up having a binge fest. I'm certainly not beating myself up about it though!

Time is up for me...I will be back later!! :)

Sorry you have had horrible experiences with WW. The group that I go to is great, it's like a group of friends getting together. We all tease each other and they call me 'teacher's pet' because I haven't had a weight gain yet even though they know that the reason I haven't is because I don't go and get weighed if I know I have gained. We spend half of the class laughing and the other half learning something new so it's well worth going although I don't need it so much now that I have found these forums. :)
Sounds like you had a great weekend and worth the extra calories. I never mind extra calories taken like that as they are well worth it, the bad thing is when you just cram something into your mouth without even tasting it then it isn't worth it.

Congrats on staying the course during the events - vendor food can be very unhealthy. I'm sorry to hear about your sunburn, though.

Thanks Stacy :) The burn is almost gone now...phew!

I just want to apologize, eyckmans, I shouldn't have put down WW like that. I'm really glad that you are having such a great experience! It's always nice to have a circle of friends to cackle with :D

Today is my husband, Bryan's birthday! I took control and made breakfast and lunch for us. I tend to relax a little too much while celebrating and just eat whatever, but I really don't want to get into a rut so I'm being extra cautious. Tonight We are going for sushi....omg YUM! So I'm just going to figure out a few things I can have before we go, and try to stick to the plan as best as I can. :)

No need to apologize. If I was in your group I'd probably put it down and vica versa :)
