Put ur hands up slowly, & step away from the cupcake!!!

Great job on the inches lost! Yeah, it sounds like your parent's scale is a bit FUBAR. My scale was like that too until I placed a board under it. I guess my floor was slanted or something. I don't know why but since placing the board under the scale it reads a lot better now and I don't get wildly different readings every time I step on it. lol You might try that, or by yourself a new scale. :) I got a digital one on ebay for like 20 bucks and it goes all the way up to 400 pounds.

You're doing awesome by the way, I have no doubt you'll reach your goal!

Hey guys! Thanks for the love! :) Hmmmm ebay..never thought of that! Thanks Stacy! :)

I will probably be skulking around here tomorrow because I am so addicted to this forum, but I hope you all have a great weekend!!

ooh gratz on the weight loss :) Scales can be fickle but the tape measure doesn't lie so glad you had some measurements, that's awesome.

And I like Stacy's approach too. I have over 200lbs to lose if I was to actually consider the weight I SHOULD be....well then I'd need to lose more like 225lbs but its not showin on my ticker that way cuz I can't get my brain around it yet. I'm not really worrying about it for now cuz I don't have to be skinny, I just don't want to be so dang conspicuously huge.

Hey sugar! Glad to hear things are going well with the food intake counting - it certainly does make you realise all the little things add up!! Scales...pah...my bathroom ones can read differently by up to 2lbs so I weigh myself with the scales in 3 different places on the floor and if it is fluctuating I take the lowest weight...I'm more interested in WEIGHT LOST since the last time i weighed in anyway so if I take this approach, it will show me if I've put on or lost weight LOL.

You got to do things in stages - I think in 5-7lbs chunks and my ticker only shows my "short term" goal of 170s...long term I'd love to be in the 140s or 150s but I can't conceptualise what size or shape I'd be then as it seems too far removed so I keep my ticker short and sweet and you know what?!? I'm beginning to feel REALLY motivated as I'm getting within like 10-14lbs of doing it.

Just stopping in to say hi. I'm glad things are going so well for you. I have a video called Walk Away the Pounds, by Leslie Sansone. Sometimes I use it when the weather is too bad to walk outside. It's pretty good and the video has 5 different walking workouts.

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone!!! jjjay that is a great idea! I think I am going to change my ticker thingy right after I post this! :D

OOOhh!! I have the walk away the pounds videos!! I totally forgot about those! Thanks Want2lose! :) I will just have to find them lol

Well there we go...I changed my ticker so there is a smaller goal. Feels better already! lol It's amazing the way our minds work...isn't it? losing 44lbs isn't so daunting...and when I get there...I shall change my ticker again! I can't wait! :)

its a good idea. 50 pound increments make it a little less intimidating. I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I just shoved 4 strawberries in my cheeks like a chipmonk gathering food. doing good otherwise.

LOL size32 that's hilarious :) Glad your doing good too :)

So I weighed myself on the Wii a while ago...I KNEW IT...lol I did lose more then my parents dumb scale LOL so yeah...just had to share that :p

having a pretty good day so far...had a 30m workout on the Wii...dripping with sweat now lol gross! Gonna head out after a shower to grab a Father's day card..being that it's tomorrow...I really have to stop doing everything last minute! lol

ttys!

I got the Wii Fit Plus so that it can help me lose weight. It's been great so far (even though I had to have my boyfriend do the "weigh in" when I set it up, since apparently I'm over the limit)!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one here using the Wii to drop some pounds. lol I figure, even though it's not cheap, it's loads cheaper then getting a gym membership (something I can't afford at the moment but maybe someday.:) )

You're doing awesome, hon! I look forward to seeing more of your progress!

I'm another Wii fan. It's such a fun way to exercise especially when the rest of the family join in.

I know right? I'm going to have to get another controller, cause now my boyfriend wants to play with me! lol That will be a lot of fun, bring us closer together, AND help me drop some poundage. :)

Well well well....Father's day has come and gone. We had lunch at the pub/sports bar with both sides of the family and watched the world cup game between Brazil & Ivory Coast...I had a buffalo chicken wrap, and instead of fries I chose salad. That's right...I CHOSE SALAD!!! lol I just had ice water throughout the lunch and offered to be the DD so the boys could have their beer lol. What I couldn't believe was that my family and Bryan's family actually got along and there was NO awkwardness! We have progress people!!! lol

Dinner - we had dinner up at my parent's house w/ my Grandpa. Roast beef done on the BBQ, corn on the cob, greek salad, ceasar salad, buns, potatoes, and my absolute TOTAL weakness - - - yorkshire puddings. lol I didn't have all that though. I picked carefully with what I had, and I definitely didn't deprive myself from having my mom's yorkshires. Had desert too :p ice cream with fresh blueberries and raspberries. All in all I went over my budget by 150 calories, and I am SO ok with that. I usually go crazy at family dinners and used to be able to take in a couple thousand calories in just the one meal.

finished the evening by playing a couple rounds of "Sorry". We love that game, and we always laugh SOOOO hard when we play as we are all competitive lol.

Feeling kinda bleh today...I only got about 2 hours sleep last night and I don't do well with little sleep. I'm the kinda girl that needs her 8hrs to function lol. Stayed on track with eating well today and haven't kicked myself once for eating all the stuff I wanted yesterday! Yay! Gonna take it easy and just wait till tomorrow for my Wii workout - need...more...sleeeeeep lol

Hope everyone had a decent Monday :)

eyckmans/Stacy - omg definitely get another remote when you can! Playing with 2 people is soooo fun! :) My hubby and I always use it together and it is HILARIOUS...we both trash talk each other when we play games LOL and ur so right, it's a great way to spend time together!!

Your doin great SPF!

I love hearing how you make better choices with whats available.

Keep up the great work!

Sounding good Sugarplum!! Yorkshires aren't THAT bad...in moderation!! Sounds like you made the right choices - informed and not over indulgent - within the circumstances and salad>fries is a big YAY!!!!

Hey Sugar, sounds like you had fun the other day with your family all getting along. That had to be a huge relief. My husband's mom and dad hate eachother even though they divorced when he was 5 so it makes family gatherings tense at times....well there's other stressful dynamics at his family get togethers as well. But sometimes they turn out surprisingly enjoyable in spite of all that. Anyway I really enjoy reading your journal, even when I don't always respond right away. And you are doing great on integrating this into all life situations. I'm so proud of you for making healthy choices but still eating good food and not beating yourself up. I so believe this is about making better choices, substituting when it doesn't matter, but having something if you really want it. That and the fact we're all holding each other up here, I know we're going to get this done :hurray: Thanks for being there *hugz* ~Lisa
