Put ur hands up slowly, & step away from the cupcake!!!

Thanks Stacy :) The burn is almost gone now...phew!

I just want to apologize, eyckmans, I shouldn't have put down WW like that. I'm really glad that you are having such a great experience! It's always nice to have a circle of friends to cackle with :D

Today is my husband, Bryan's birthday! I took control and made breakfast and lunch for us. I tend to relax a little too much while celebrating and just eat whatever, but I really don't want to get into a rut so I'm being extra cautious. Tonight We are going for sushi....omg YUM! So I'm just going to figure out a few things I can have before we go, and try to stick to the plan as best as I can. :)

Cool, tell your sweetie happy birthday from us! :D My boyfriend and I went to eat sushi for lunch today. I had 20 pieces but it's all good, sushi doesn't have a whole heck of a lot of calories. :) Just watch out for the tempura, that's a calorie nightmare. lol

Something funny for the Monday blues....when my husband sneezes...it smells like honey! No joke! It's the weirdest thing!! hahahahahaha ya, that's my little story...hope you enjoyed it LOL

Wow, that's so odd I had to google because I was concerned. My first thought was has he been checked for diabetes? But I only found one person online saying that possibility....if he doesn't have fruity breathe he's probably fine. But wow are there alot of people on the net asking why their sneezes smell like honey. And I looked and looked and no definite answer! But on the upside....there were people who's sneezes smelled like death and roadkill so....yea.....I'll go with the honey smell, lol

Glad you had an awesome weekend and really enjoyed yourself :) And awesome you treated yourself without feeling guilty! Well I gotta go get ready for work. Talk to you again soon *hugz* ~Lisa

I don't like sushi...but I just checked it out on this site...(dont know if Im allowed to do this) but the lowest is 140 calories per roll. Thats a lot of calories no?

Have a great nite!

No, I don't think 140 calories is a lot. Considering a lot of people only eat one or two rolls for an entire meal. 280 calories is not much for a meal. Good to know that there are those out there with more of a calorie phobia than I have though. lol

Thanks for posting that sushi FAQ Flumes, it will come in handy for me :) Yeah, like Stacy said up there, if you stay away from tempura, you will be ok lol oh wait a sec....

Stacy, I confess, I gave in and had a bit of yam tempura with my sushi :p lol oh well...I'm being a good girl today! :D

I guess the downside to liking sushi is that it is a high sodium meal. I woke up this morning feeling like one of those pufferfish LOL We had a nice night though...came back and I opted out on a dram of scotch. (I got him a nice bottle for his bday). Did some sewing to fight off the sugar craving.

dou, you are too cute :) lol Ive looked it up before too because when I first noticed that, I too went and looked it up right away! I guess it's just one of those weird things!

Hope everyone is having a great day so far!
XO

mmmmm sushi is my FAVOURITE...well...sashimi is - I could eat raw tuna and salmon all day long with nothing but soy sauce, wasabi and grated radish...leave all the rice and tempura...just sashimi!!!

I struggled with WW too - its so pot luck as to what your group is like...I found that the group was either all old pros who had lost all their weight or newbies each week and we'd go through the same stuff over and over again. Never quite got to the point where we were a really solid group who had all been through the same weight loss stages together and got close. I can imagine though that if you did find that, it would be very supportive.

Grated radish? Do you mean grated ginger?

As for the WW - I don't think I could get behind a diet like that. A diet that lets you eat that much fast food as long as you stay in your "points" is something I can't really understand. lol Plus I've known far too many people who've gained all the weight back and then some as soon as soon as they got off the weight watchers diet. I think it's important to totally retrain your eating habits, and do it for life. WW doesn't seem to do that.

I think everyone's different so for some being accountable to a group they have to meet in person works for them if they find a good one. Me personally I like the fact I get the same support here but the internet is an equalizer. Everyone here, whether they have 20lbs or 200lb to lose is, for the most part, recognized equally because nobody is looking straight at us. Or also, two people can have the same amount to lose at an in person group but be treated differently if one gained it proportionate and still is able to dress well and the other, like me, gained it to be "fat and dumpy". Here my voice is heard and valued like anyone elses regardless of how I look.

Andalso don't have to feel like I'm at a drug rehab type meeting because something is wrong with me and I'm bad. I guess that's just my take on it because I'm too sensitive but people are judgemental and in person you can see it alot more easily on their faces or in things they say. It can happen here too but text is easier to brush off than a face to face memory of somebody being mean or well meaning but stupid.

Anyway just saying in person groups aren't for me. I like being accountable to myself but getting support from others without the negative other stuff or feeling like I'm a charity case. Here I'm an active participant, on the same journey and don't feel like I need to be embarrassed. Plus I'm sure we all share things here that helps us but that we would never say in an in person group.

Weird how this forum is more personal but less personal all at the same time, lol.

and DANG you guys! Now I want chinese food in the worst way! Bah

Oh and Alicia :) I just saw your rep comment! Ironically it was right after I made a siggy with my name in it so people would know. I got carried away and got a new ticker too while I was at it, lol

I totally agree. The anonymity of the internet allows me to bring up issues and problems in my weight loss efforts that I wouldn't have the courage to talk about with people in real life. I'm glad we have this forum to get the support we need without the embarrassment of judgment. :)

^^^^I agree with that. We get the chance to ramble on in our diaries and people can choose whether they want to read it or not. In a face to face conversation you can see people's eyes glaze over with boredom if you talk about exercise or weight loss but here we are all in the same boat. I get a lot more constructive support here than I do in real life and I love to read about other people's lives.

I agree too. I love this board for the support and the anonymity and the feedback. I always get interesting ideas for weight loss, new ways of exercising, new things to eat.

Sorry to hear about your WW experience. What a turn off. In your shoes, I might be tempted to write to headquarters. They are trying to make $$ and that attitude will alienate a lot of their potential client base. If it were my business, I would want to know.

MMM to the sushi!

Sugarplumpfairy?!?! Where are you?!?! Have we driven you away by having a rambling conversation in your diary!?!? hehehehe

How's it all going? Come and update us!

I'm right there with jjjay! Where the heck are ya girl?! Get your booty ova here and let us know how you're doing. lol :D

arrives with a *sheepish look* :D lol you know the one I'm talking about...

So it has been way too long since I have posted! Everytime I sat down to post something, I saw something shiny and got distracted :p I hope everyone had a great Canada Day / 4th of July!

On Friday I ended up going shopping just north of Seattle with my mum. About 1 1/2hr from the border. I have to go to two weddings this month and one of them is pretty casual, while the other is semi-formal. So I was on the hunt for a dress. Where I live there are only 2 stores that sell plus size clothing. Pretty pathetic. So we head down to the USA for shopping cause the selection is SOOOO much better. Anyway, we started the day at 6am and made our way down, and didn't cross the border until 7pm. No dress. WTF! Oh and, FML lol I don't know why but my mom dragged me to Macy's assuring me that they have plus sizes, they just fit small. Well now, that was not the case! I tried on their biggest size (3x) and I thought I was going to rip the dress in half trying to get it on LOL. Very discouraging though. By the time we left Macy's I was in the foulest mood and mum says to me "oh, I guess you must be getting hungry?" I get cranky when I'm hungry lol But already feeling like crap (and yes I was hungry lol). Everywhere we looked there were dresses, but they were ugly or didn't fit. SOOO FRUSTRATING!!! I was surprised though because Layne Bryant usually has a great selection of plus size clothes. Not the case this time. So needless to say - I ate poorly all day. Nothing like a trip to the Olive Garden for a carbo load. Oh and I had Indian food that night too. Chili Chicken, rice and naan bread. :p

You know what I say though? OH well! I have a black dress - it's a babydoll dress and actually looks somewhat decent. I'm just not sure about wearing a black dress to a wedding. If I have a shawl that is colourful that might break up the black would that work...? What do you think? Weddings...A love/hate thing for me...not to mention the social anxiety that goes along with it...but that is a different rant for another day ;) lol

At first I was so put off by this whole experience, and it has taken until today to get myself back on track. But, I'm here. So here I go again. I'm going to weigh in this morning on the Wii...and have an exercise!

That was one hell of a rant though lol

Hope everyone is doing well, and I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone throughout the day :)

XO

Sorry your day didn't work out for you. I have often been to weddings in a black dress but prettied it up with colourful jewellry. If you already have a dress that looks nice then I wouldn't put yourself through the stress of looking for another one. It won't fit you soon anyway ;)
Glad to hear that you are back on track so just put the bad experience behind you. :)

Wow, I can totally relate to your "shopping" excursion. As I think most plus size women can. I think to myself "at least I live in the US where the selection is bigger", but then the last time I went to the ONLY store in my area that carries my size - low and behold - THEY DON'T ANYMORE! That's right, my Fashion Bug has stopped carrying my size jeans. I tell the sales lady that I guess I'm lucky I'm losing weight, since they aren't carrying my size anymore, and she just looks at me like "Oh god! She was bigger BEFORE!?" F*@#ing Biotch!

I Hate this society that treats fat people like garbage. I'm so sick of it I could puke.

Oops, sorry for the rant. I'm in a bad mood today.

Well I'm VERY happy to see you post again! I was worried about you, so I'm glad you're back! And don't worry about the carb load the other day, just get back on track and you'll be ok. :) You can't fail if you never quit! *hugs*

Thanks Stacy! I'm glad to be back and in a positive frame of mind again! lol It totally sucks that bigger people get treated so poorly, I can't tell you how many times I've gone into a store and asked if they carry bigger sizes, and the looks I get from some sales ladies make me want to knock their teeth in LOL...Don't worry about the rant, I'm glad you're getting it out! :)

I went into a shop once and asked if they has a bigger size in a top that I liked and the woman very snottily looked me up and down and said 'no we don't stock anything your size' I was so embarrassed. I'm glad that you are feeling better about things now :)
