Put that down, fatty!

I am dying to see your results for your weighin tomorrow! I love seeing everyone making progress :) You always do so awesome!

Crumpets! Gawd I love crumpets! Years ago, my sis introduced me to them....popped them in the toaster and buttered them till every pore was full. They were heaven. Thanks for refreshing my memory!

And great to see your doing well...even with the bum ankle.

Take care!

LOL You girls and your Jillian fan club! What about poor old Bob?!?

Hope the ankle is getting better Sunflower - give it time, you don't want to make it worse by going back too early! As for the picture with the girls, what do mean as skinny as the girls? You look the skinniest!

I feel your pain! I have 2 bad ankles, a bad knee, and a bad hip...when they act up there is no helping me! BTW, in your drunken picture last page, you look skinnier than them! Awesome work!

I will be going to the gym tomorrow! I have sucked so badly this week. Have to step up my game.

I'm also quitting smoking. Yeah, really. Must make sure I write down EVERYTHING I eat so I don't put on the "quitter's 20"! Not too worried though, I'm smart enough to know when I'm slipping up.

Exam til 6pm tomorrow then STRAIGHT to the gym!

Since I started my journey on January 9th I've gone from drinking 1-2 bottles of wine 5 times a week, to having a small glass once or twice a week.

I've been so busy thinking about pounds and inches that I hadnt stepped back to see the bigger picture. I'm not killing my body with drink anymore and I am stupidly proud of myself. I'm turning into the young woman that I want to be and I could not be happier.

30 pounds down, 10-20 to go and I'm feeling wonderful.

This is so great to read! It shows that all this work you are doing is about much, much more than losing weight!
You are caring for yourself and making good choices that will have such a positive influence on your life as you get older.

Quitting smoking is a Big Deal and I am very proud of you! You will see such benefits to your fitness, your skin and your poor lungs. And don't forget your pocketbook!!

PS. One reason I love reading your diary and other posts is your style of writing. You are so cute and British!

Haha! Cute and British! I love it! My boyfriend is American and thinks the same. He mocks my accent a lot though--I'm quite posh!!

I'll start doing a smoking update as well and see how it effects the calorie intake ;) Should be interesting. Thanks for stopping by Rox, and thanks for the support and kind words. This site is such a melting pot of struggles and small victories and I'm glad I can share my journey with people going through similar things xxx

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Hana you are really totally fantastic! :)

Hey! That's such a great improvement on the alcohol intake! You're doing so well! Plus not drinking that much would definitely help with weight loss and I'm sure you feel a lot better!

Having any cravings for a cig? I'm so proud of you for deciding to quit! I didn't even know you smoked, so glad you decided to quit before I found out and spanked you! My hunnie quit cold turkey last year. He finished a pack and said that's it and it really has been it! He used to smoke a pack at least per day so it has really saved money and of course his health! I think it will do wonders for your workouts! I'm proud of you so keep it up!!

Thanks dude! Been okay today so we'll see what tomorrow brings!! Thanks for the support :) I know it's a *horrible* habit so must quit!!

Arrgh this was me when I was 17!! Only I wasn't drinking wine- I was downing about half a bottle of vodka every night. I smoked too, lol I used to say I only smoked when I drank but I don't think anyone realised I was borderline alcoholic!!! I think giving up the alcohol cold turkey made me lose like 10kgs in 2 months.
Good on you for quitting smoking! I still slip up sometimes if I've had too much to drink and don't realise what I'm doing (lol, at my sisters wedding in Feb I got drunk and smoked in front of my mum... I'm kind of the goody-goody in the family, I think she just about had a heart attack) Day at a time though, right? And that was my first smoke in about a year!! Also the first time I'd been drunk in about a year lol :D
You're doing SO well as always, can't wait to hear the results of your weigh in!!

Hiya Sunflower

You are an exercise fiend! I really need to follow your example!

Also, I ADORE Marmite! I haven't had any for ages. Maybe that's what I'll have for dinner. I know I've got some whole wheat english muffins around here somewhere...
Thanks for the inspiration!

Sunflower, you are really motivated, and your energy is worthy of respect!

But, imho, you can create much more impressive results if you make a few
adjustments to the food that you are consuming. I read the majority of this
thread, and you have what it takes to "not only" reach your ideal weight,
but also to maintain it. I am not going to make any suggestions in this post,
because maybe you are not interested in information about proper nutrition,
but if you are, then in the next post I can make a few suggestions that can
take you to the next level, and help you to achieve your goal much faster.

I was also wondering, what have been the biggest problems and challenges
that you have been experiencing in your weight loss journey so far? Obvioulsy
hunger has not been one of them, since your calorie intake is quite amazing,
especially since I believe you wrote your BMR is around 1600-1700 calories
per day, and you have been consuming about 900-1000 average.

Hey Alex--thanks for stopping by. To answer your question, my BMR is 1600 so I usually try and stick around 1200 but often fall below and sometimes a little over! Know it's not healthy to eat so little on the days when I can't hit 1200 but I'm very rarely hungry. Lunch is usually beans on crumpets which is insanely filling!

I am interested in how you think my diet could improve. I'm still a whore for pasta and other carbs but try to limit myself to having pasta just a few times a week and small portion sizes. I think I could do with more fresh fruit as well. Feedback is always appreciated and welcomed.

However, I'm not concerned about reaching my goal faster than I am already going. I'm told that between 1-2 pounds a week is ideal and I know that I'll be able to keep those amounts off instead of dropping 3-4 pounds a week, getting skinny quick and then ditching the diet because I'm "there" so to speak. I usually lose between 1-3 pounds a week (not weighed in for a few weeks due to work ruining my usual meeting date for WW!).

My biggest challenge so far has been my willpower. I'm very good at making excuses about why I should catch the bus instead of walk and that I deserve a big dinner because I've had a small lunch and such. I have to constantly remind myself that I'm over-weight which is WHY I'm doing what I'm doing. Old Hana used to catch the bus everywhere and eat whatever she wanted but the new and improved Hana has to give Old Hana a kick up the butt sometimes ;)

I have a big deficit and stick to 1200 calories because I enjoy food. I want to be able to have what I want and not deny myself things so I eat what I like, just smaller portions and make sure I exercise after. On weeks that I only drop a pound or nothing at all, then I cut out the crap for the next week until I see the results I want..

Would love to hear feedback but I'm really in no rush to reach my target. I've been at this for 19 weeks nearly and lost just over 30 pounds which is an average of 1.5 pounds a week. And that's fine with me :)
