 Poor Yank. Poor Hana, too. I've cleaned up some messes in my life other people would not have touched but having to clean up the blood of your own sibling after they died a violent death? That's horrific. Dealing with the suicide of loved ones is HARD at the best of times but... I'm glad he's dealing with it as well as he is by now.

Wow, Yank's a trooper! He's lucky he's got a strong woman with him to help him out. Hope your meeting with your manager goes well, and awesome stepping! How much time walking does that equate?

Yeah, was a bad year. His mum ended up in prison for a little while after and she's needed a lot of support. We are lucky to have each other and to be so strong together.

LJ, 10,000 steps is supposed to be 5 miles so it was over 10 miles of walking! Not all at once though.

Spent hours this evening throwing out a load of old clothes, sorting out the house and getting tidy! I made a gorgeous pasta for me and Yank with crushed walnuts, lemon, parmesan and broccoli - was delicious. I love foooood. Had wine left over from my friend staying last night which has meant I've been a bit naughty again this evening and had another glass. It's gone now so hopefully that'll be it!!

8th February

Breakfast: pears (150)
Lunch: leftover soup, pringles (414)
Dinner: walnut pasta (455)
Snacks: crackers x 3 1/2 slice of bread, 250ml of wine (433)

Total: 1452
Steps: 16,000

Good morning lovely lady. Poor, poor Yank. I can't imagine how hard that must have been for him to cope with. That is horrible, just horrible. I assume he had lots of counselling. You are a very strong woman & you are both lucky to have one another. Sending you lots of love Hana, xoxo

Wow, that is tough going for your poor husband. Hopefully with time, the hypochondria will lose its hold over him. Very sad story though.

The walnut pasta sounds so tasty. Why did you decide to do the vegetarian month in the first place by the way? Are you still doing it?

Thanks girlies <3

Emily - we just would rather not eat meat to be honest. I wouldn't ever kill an animal to eat it myself so why should I be okay with other people doing it? Plus, a lot of time spent looking at how animals are kept, killed, processed etc. It's grim and I'd just rather not be a part of it. We try to eat veggie at least 5 days a week if we can and usually do a few months a year where we have no meat at all. Would love to go veggie completely so think we are aiming for that eventually.

Right, in a rush this morning. Food for yesterday not fantastic, was supposed to meet friends for lunch but they cancelled so had to go to a shop and ended up not having amazzzzing choices. Could have been worse though. Soup kitchen was lovely - was very firm with Hil when she tried to pin me down for coffee again. Got my sister and her boyfriend coming this evening for the weekend. We are going to Thorney Island in Emsworth for a 10 mile hike and a nice lunch. Her and her boyfriend had a massive fight last night so hoping it is not too awkward...was on the phone with her until very late last night trying to help them fix it..They are both quite immature and need a lot of input to resolve things.

9th February

Breakfast: pineapple (62)
Lunch: egg and cress on brown bread, apple, chicken pieces, string cheese (459)
Dinner: red peppers stuffed with chorizo, halloumi and cous cous, leftover walnut pasta (677)
Snacks: 1 small glass of wine (114)

Steps: 16000
Total:1312

Ah cool, thanks for explaining.

The hike sounds great! Hope everyone is back on good terms and you have a lovely weekend. :)

AMEN! I just want to press a button and have the fat drip off me - but I want to LOOK good. Like fat comes off the right areas with the right muscle definition too...

Instead, I laid of the floor last night after slipping in a pile of my own sweat while my husband tried not to laugh at me. Badge of pride right here :p

Oh, no. We don't want it to be EASY! No way. We love depriving ourselves & suffering.......................

Hello gorgeous people! LaMa, that museum looks amazing! Have added it to my list...looks..interesting!

I've been a bit absent this weekend - had my sister here with her boyfriend which was good. We did a 12 mile hike yesterday which was gorgeous and we went out on Friday night to the jazz bar again and had a few drinks. Avoided alcohol at the pub watching the rugby last night as I was just so tired! Then I cooked my lovely Indian soup thing and we were all snoozing by 11pm! They've left now..it's always nice having people to stay but also nice waving them off again ;) Now I'm on the sofa in my PJ's, listening to classical music and planning food for the rest of the week. Only 6 more sleeps til Iceland! Cannot wait!

I took lots of photos over the weekend so will post my favourites. I felt super slim on Friday so took a photo in the pub toilet to monitor my progress (and to show off how fab I'm feeling!). Today will be a low cal day as I'm not planning on moving. I ate toooo much yesterday. We had a sausage platter after this walk yesterday which was as good as it sounds. 6 different sausages, creamy mash, caramelised onions and vegetables on a platter to share! Me and Yank had to be rolled out of the pub! Only 1.5lbs down this week.. I know this is a healthy amount to lose but still a bit bleh..going to be strict with myself this week as Iceland is likely to involve lots of wine and nice food!

Urgh, forgot to mention - on this walk yesterday we found a seal on the shoreline with no head! It was utterly bizarre. And gross. I've never seen a seal in the wild before so a little decapitated one was quite alarming!

Week One: 199lbs to 194.5lbs (-4.5)
Week Two: 194.5lbs to 191.5 (-3)
Week Three: 191.5lbs to 190 (-1.5)
Week Four: 190 to 189 (-1)
Week Five: 189 to 187.5 (-1.5)
Week Six: 187.5 to 186 (-1.5)

Total: 13lbs down since Jan 1st

Hi Sunflower. You look great in the bathroom picture, I like your outfit too.

Consistency is key my friend, and you've been losing a bit every week, which is fab. I think you're doing great.

Hey Hana! Losing a pound and a half in a week when you have your sister over is aweeesome :)
Sorry about the seal: last time I spent time at the beach we found both a seal and a porpoise, just meters apart. That seal was headless as well. Maybe there´s an anatomical reason why they lose their head easily after death? There was no reason to assume human interference, by the way, if that´s any consolation (I wouldn´t normally know but dead porpoises have to be reported where we were).

Wow, you are really doing well this year!! Amazing progress. I lost the same amount since Jan 1st, so we seem to be losing at the same rate. A fine rate, I might add. Not to slow, not too fast. My upper for a week is about 3 lbs (or 1.5 kg), but this should not happen multiple weeks in a row. 1.5-2 lbs (1 kg) is the ideal. This is a marathon, not a sprint. What I like about this rate, though, is that you can see visible progress every week. That may not be the case for you now (I am quite tall and muscular, which makes weight loss quickly visible), but I am sure that you will soon be able to see visible results every week. I always try to celebrate those moments, I do this mostly during the weekends. During the week I try to be patient and not look too much for results, just focussing on maintaining a good routine.

Btw, what is your target?

Anyways, it's inspiring to see someone else being successful! I hope you will keep doing that. And I like that you seem to be giving yourself a break in Iceland, that's a good decision! ;)

You're looking great Hana. I did the same thing the other day. I felt so good I took a photo of myself, which I rarely do. It's my current avatar. What a sure & steady loss sweets. You are doing really well xoxo

Thanks Emily, Cate & LaMa <3

Rebelll, if you're ever in the UK I'll take you headless seal hunting :p
LaMa, how weird about you finding a similar seal.. Maybe the head is the easiest bit for predators or something? I don't know..very odd though.

Hey, Tri. I'm tall too (5'10) so seeing a difference every week as well, although maybe not the last couple.. I want to get down to 170 so I have about another 14lbs to lose which is doable. I'm aiming to get there by Juneish when I got back to my old job so I have plenty of time!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ate a bit too much yesterday, around 1800. Am having a low-cal day today. I want to lose 2lbs before Iceland so that I can put them back on whilst I'm out there guilt-free ;) Watched Hacksaw Ridge which was brilliant..bit overly sentimental but very enjoyable. Will come back to post food later <3

Also, I've just booked a shack on an island of the coast of Cambodia for March 2018.. 10 days of no electricity, no wifi on an island with our own bit of private beach, swimming with phosphorescent plankton at night and relaxing during the day. Cannot wait! Going to do Siem Reap for a few days before then then travel down to koh ta kiev for a week to switch off from the world. It's insanely cheap (flights aside.) I cannot wait. https://www.crusoeisland.asia/
