Put that down, fatty! (again!)

Flying through Storm Doris? Not good Hana. Hope you feel a lot better after a good night's sleep hon. Look forward to the photos xoxo

Thanks Cate - Yank hates flying so think he is slightly traumatised..won't tell him how long the flight to Cambodia will be til nearer the time ;)

So, the scale damage is looking good but will wait til Sunday to post. Nowhere near as bad as anticipated though! Must have been all the calories burned to keep warm!

Highlights of the trip were: swimming in a natural hot spring whilst drinking cold cans of beer, seeing the best 5 hour Jazz music set of my entire life whilst chatting to the locals and getting very merry, the sole of my shoe falling off at 1am and having to walk 2 miles back to the airb&b in the snow (wine blanket helped with the cold!), seeing seals on the black beaches on the west coast, seeing two waterfalls surrounded by wild Icelandic horses, drinking fizzy water from the ground at a natural spring, a 9 mile hike to the deserted lighthouse where we found another hot pool to dip our freezing feet in, the amazing art work around the city, eating ice cream at a farm and then meeting the cows whose milk made it and fiiiinaaaaaally seeing the mountains surrounding the city once the fog cleared on the second day :D

Wow looks amazing! My husband hates flying too like it was a mission to even get him to go on our honeymoon. Also had a look at your wedding photos and you guys make such a cute couple!

Oh my God, it looks absolutely stunning. I like how Nic Cage has also made an impact in Iceland, lol. Not the bees!

I went to Cambodia around 5 years ago at this stage, really lovely country. Watch out for the durian though, the smell still haunts me. Crazy people bring them on buses and in some hotel rooms, they have 'No Durian' signs like so:

No_durian_sign1.jpg

Ha.

Looks like a blast! We're talking about maybe doing a Scandinavian trip for our 10-yr wedding anniversary - next summer.

That photo of the horse is absolutely stunning Hana! It really does sound like you had a wonderful time. A break like that does you the world of good xoxo

Emily, I've heard of that stinky fruit! Apparently it tastes really good though? Did you do any of the small islands off Cambodia? We are looking at koh kiev and a few of the others at the mo. It looks so cheap once you're out there!

Thanks for the nice comments, you guys :) It was a brilliant experience - glad to have my Yank by my side to see the world with <3

Yesterdays calories were a little higher than I'd like - I'm aiming for 1200 at the mo as I have a few lbs to shift that I put on this week. I was a bit silly a brought a bottle of wine but only had one glass. I have University all day today in a town called Winchester (on a Saturday, for the love of godddd) but am getting a lift so won't be too bad. I'm getting really fucked off with my course and the insane amount of work we have to do. I've started this new job so am in the midst of getting my head around that (plus the 10+ pieces of work I need to complete alongside my caseload work by April) and the modules are now requiring two 4000 word essays by end of March too. Don't know how they want us to manage our time any better than we already are.. think tomorrow will be spent in the study working. Never mind - once I'm qualified I'll be okay. Or in some fresh hell. Whatever!

Have packed a healthy lunch today to avoid the vending machines at University. Will check in after dinner tonight <3

24th February

Breakfast: skipped
Lunch: leftover indian soup (476)
Dinner: roasted red peppers, chorizo, cous cous, cilantro falafel burger, fried egg (766)
Snacks: 1 glass of wine (174)

Total: 1416
Steps: 12,000

Hey Sunflower, those pics are amazing! Looks like you had a wonderful trip. I hope the course you're taking calms down soon. I took one in college once that had us doing like 16 hours of homework a week. That's like 4 times as much time as we actually spent in the class itself. Dealing with that does not make weight loss easy.

Thanks Cory :) It's likely to get worse, to be honest. I'm halfway through a three year degree to become a social worker but I'm being sponsored by my job (so they are paying for it but I still work a 40 hour week on top of full-time University) so in total I'm doing around 60/70 hours a week between work and studying. It's been a challenge but I am enjoying it for the most part. Luckily it doesn't leave me much time for a social life and therefore yummy food out and about!

Thanks LaMaaa - Yank may never be persuaded to fly again!!

Wow, that's impressive! You must be an excellent time manager! :)

:iagree: with Tri. You really must be an awesome time manager and your workplace knows a good investment when they see one-you!

I tend to just flail around in a panic until I get shit done. It's not a winning system!

Right, last nights food and then I'll come back to post weigh in results after volunteering this morning. Going to see my old lady who I've not seen in a few weeks. Dragging Yank along too for extra company for her.

25th February

Breakfast: graze box (130)
Lunch: tinned pears in juice, crackers with light cheese (258)
Dinner: chorizo, parmesan pasta with a tonnnn of green beans, peppers and mushrooms (610)
Snacks: wine small glass (87)

Total: 1085
Steps: 4,000 (did barely anything yesterday..neck still not very happy :()

:) Other people *coughmecough* flail around in a panic and don´t get shit done anyway, so you´ve still got an edge :) I do repeat: tell the folks you´re volunteering with you won´t be available for a couple of months and have date night with Yank instead. Assuming he´ll do the majority of the house work while you play Ethan Hunt so a bit of extra togetherness won´t do any harm.

Ahh this isn't the soup kitchen LaMa - this is an old lady with no family who I go to see every week. She only has me so it's not a case of being able to not go for a few months. I love seeing her and it doesn't take up any time at all really - it's the soup kitchen lady who drives me mad! I'm now in PJ's watching netflix and relaxing for a few hours so getting some rest time :D

:) As long as you´re not going to the soup kitchen for the next months you won´t hear a peep from me :) Little old ladies with boundaries and no relatives are another thing entirely!

Right - was expecting some gains whilst I was away for the week but I've not put on anything! So no losses for week 8 but that's just peachy with me! Going to kick some ass this week and get another pound or two gone by this time next week! Got a very low cal chicken sausage jambalaya type meal in the slow cooker for meals this week and I'm doing a jacket potato with beans tonight and making Yank a home-made cashew curry so will be doing lots of cooking and making healthy plans for the rest of the week. Feeling positive!

I need to get to 175 to be a "healthy" weight and to have a normal BMI (although I recognise BMI is horribly flawed..) so I'm aiming to lose another 15lbs and see how I feel there. It's a good feeling to feel "halfway" through my journey. Got to keep motivated. Exercise will be back up to 10,000+ steps a day from tomorrow so feeling optimistic I can get to 16.5lbs lost by next week :D

Week One: 199lbs to 194.5lbs (-4.5)
Week Two: 194.5lbs to 191.5 (-3)
Week Three: 191.5lbs to 190 (-1.5)
Week Four: 190 to 189 (-1)
Week Five: 189 to 187.5 (-1.5)
Week Six: 187.5 to 186 (-1.5)
Week Seven: 186 to 184 (-2)
Week Eight: 184 (0)

Total: 15lbs down since Jan 1st 2017

Right - was expecting some gains whilst I was away for the week but I've not put on anything
What a win Hana! :)
I have a sneaky suspicion you will still be going to the soup kitchen. I hope you can work out a balance in your life sweets. We don't want you falling apart xoxo

Work/life balance means doing things that feel good for the soul - my volunteering fills my happy meter, for the most part, so the tiredness is a fair pay off :) Thank you all for caring - you beautiful people :) <3
