Put that down, fatty! (again!)

Hey Sunny, I know what you mean about volunteering. Since I moved, I've been trying to find a place to go and do some volunteer work, but haven't really jived with anything. Good job on your food and steps today!

I'm halfway through a three year degree to become a social worker but I'm being sponsored by my job (so they are paying for it but I still work a 40 hour week on top of full-time University) so in total I'm doing around 60/70 hours a week between work and studying.
But think of the mad paycheck you'll be getting! You're doing great, seriously.

Hey Cory :) hope you find somewhere to volunteer soon - what stuff did you used to like doing?

Thanks LJ - yes, thinking of that dollllaaaaaarrrrr. Will be worth it I hope.

Today was pretty good - I did a full day at work, got two assessments done and then did 4 hours of stuff for University ready for supervision with my practice educator tomorrow. I find him really annoying and intimidating (not a winning combination) but I get to sleep in a tiny bit and I feel ahead of schedule again with my work which makes me feel good. Went round a friends house for an hour for coffee and now we've had dinner and are relaaaxing. Keeping my cals right down this week (is this plan anyway!) to jump start my losses again.

27th February

Breakfast: alpen bar (65)
Lunch: jambalaya (349)
Dinner: 1/4 of a small pizza, baked potato, broccoli and sweetcorn (700)
Snacks: brunch bar (140)

Total: 1254
Steps: 13,000

You had an amazing day - getting loads of work done and still finding time for coffee with a friend. Well done girl, hope the supervision tomorrow goes really well.

Sounds like a good day! Very productive. Just out of curiosity, what is a low calorie day for you?

To answer your question, I spent a lot of time volunteering for the lesson program at my barn. Not a charity exactly, but I was giving my time for free to try and help the horses, bring joy and a love of the sport to the kids, and assist my friend (who has way too much on her plate). I was looking at the local animal shelter here, but the woman who runs the volunteer program is out indefinitely on maternity leave and they aren't accepting any new volunteers right now.

Thanks Cate & Emily- slept very well last night!

Hii Cory :) - low calorie day for me is between 1000-1200. I should be having around 1500 a day to lose 1lb a week but I like losing a little more than that! Ahhh your volunteering sounds fab - I wish there was more animal stuff I could do. I love horses but haven't ridden properly in years. Glad you get something out of it :D

Right, off to work. Scales are kind this morning - hoping for a good loss on Sunday. See ya tonight lovelies xx

Hey LaMa :) It was a good day thanks - got a fair bit done again and ate well. Just chugging along quite nicely at the moment :D It was pancake day (shrove tuesday) in UK yesterday so we had healthy pancakes too! Did lots of walking too.

28th February

Breakfast: alpen bar (65)
Lunch: jambalaya (253)
Dinner: home-made indian soup, paratha. 1 pancake with pears and cinnamon (711)
Snacks: 1 large glass wine (174)

Steps: 17,000

Your weight loss progresses perfectly; not too slow, not too fast. Great that you managed to keep a stable weight during your holiday! Congratulations on making it halfway!

Yeah, BMI is flawed, but at least it gives us some kind of milestone to work towards. However, it would be better to calculate a goal weight using your body fat percentage, but that's a bit more complicated.

But, anyways, it seems you are doing great and I wish you the best for the next 8 weeks, I hope you can repeat this! :)

Edit: whoops there was another page of posts. Anyways, this is my reply to your post from last Sunday! ;)

Hi Sunflower,

Glad you got to enjoy a pancake. I totally ran out of time yesterday to make them and although it would have been delish I didn't have one of the nutella and strawberry covered ones in work so I am going to have some for breakfast this morning. Keep the good work going you are doing great!

BMI is a direct ratio of height and weight. So if you're doing a "BMI goal", you're basically using another number to set a weight goal. There are some online FP calculators that measure various circumferences (hips, waist, etc). Or you can get a cheapish fat-0-meter from Amazon or something (I use this one: https://smile.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-...374836&sr=8-1&keywords=fat+percentage+monitor). Neither are perfectly accurate, but it's another way to track.

Or you can track your waist measurements, etc. Or if your pants are too tight or too loose.

Happy pancake day!

Thanks guys for the BMI info. Am quite happy just watching the scales and my clothes :)

Haha me too! Actually, it's time to get some new holes, my belt is becoming useless again! ;)

Sounds like a good day! I would eat a little more if I were you, anyways, I am a big guy so 1183 calories seems like very little from my perspective. You are probably not that big, and what I can see from your stats is that you lose at a very healthy rate, so I guess it's ok then.

Sounds like a good day! I don't know how you manage to stay at 1000-1200 calories. I can do 1200 on a good day, but not consistently.

Jacket potato = baked potato with skin?
