Put DOWN the Nutella!

Tried the cookies. Mine were a little soggy so maybe I didn't cook them long enough. Tasted good though.

Just visited you website!! It looks UNREAL:):) wow so much fun and i enjoyed reading the 'about' section the most. Go you hun:):) You really are talented, also thanks for writing that helpful/kind post on my diary xxxxxxx

Thanks for the feedback MrVee! I'm going to have a bit of a play around with that cookie recipe- I made pancakes in pretty much the same way yesterday and only added 2 tbsp of water, so I think maybe cookies need no extra liquids at all. If you try it again before me let me know how you go!

Irish- Thanks so much hunny! I've sent that site to so many people and you're the first person to actually give me any feedback lol. Even after all the support I got on FB for starting from friends that normally use my recipes!

Oops, totally didn't mean to not post yesterday. Actually trying to figure out how that got away from me?? I had a good food day, weigh in was exactly the same as last week (66.2kg, boo! Got to get a handle on those snacks!) Going to be a bit harsher on myself again, had too many slip ups in the week gone. Even if it wasn't a full on 'bad day' having an extra snack or two most days certainly adds up! Want to get out of this plateau!

O today is my wedding anniversary, have now been married for 3 years! My husband had to work really late last night (or maybe I should say early this morning, he didn't rock up until 4:30am) and he has to work again at 11am till late. So boo! Won't really get to see him as he only went to bed an hour ago poor love. He tried to swing the day off but it didn't happen, so we are going out for dinner on Fri night.

Happy wedding anniversary to you and your hubby, I wish you many more!

Good job on the eating and workout!!!!

Thank you everyone for the congratulations!! Actually didn't get to even really see my husband yesterday, he got stuck at work really late on Tue night and didn't get home until around 4.30am... then slept as long as he could and started work again at 11. Then worked till 10. Argh I hate his stupid work hours! Going out for dinner tomorrow night, I'm really excited. Haven't been out with my husband in forever!!

Last night was a little horrifying actually- I was home alone and could hear a random scratching noise which I thought nothing of, as the cats make a heap of noise on their own. Anyway... went to brush my teeth in the en-suite (the door is always closed, I was hearing the scratching from my bedroom) The scratching was coming from above my head so I was all, oh no, there's a freakin mouse in the ceiling. Anyway, kept hearing scratch scratch, then looked up at the exhaust fan above the shower- there was a monster shadow there, and a HUGE LONG FREAKIN HAIRY SPIDER LEG poked out through the grates!!! It was a fucking SPIDER scratching at the fan!!! I still in my head couldn't comprehend a spider big enough to scratch around, even when I saw the leg poke out I was thinking, gee, that mouse has long toes. HA. Went and sat down on my bed thinking, WTF, that couldn't have been a mouse. So went back into the bathroom and saw it's long spider legs again and went no, definitely a spider the size of my head, omg, going to die. Ran around looking for bug killer which I finally found and then emptied about half the giant can onto it and turned on the fan as I couldn't breathe. Then didn't go back in for several hours- when my husband got home I told him and he didn't believe me... Went in and the spider is still there, happily scratching away at the fan. Poor Ash, he's pretty arachnophobic... He had the same reaction as me, got the fly spray and fully doused it, then left the fan on all night so it couldn't climb back into the ceiling. It did finally die, it's sitting on the fan still with it's legs dangling through the grates. AHHHHHH. So pretty sure that'll be there until we move out!

Breakfast this morning was pretty damn amazing, I made an apple pie roll up type thing out of my oats/ fruit/ nut allowance. Probably my favourite breakfast recipe so far! Check it out here- http://www.lucysfitlife.com/?p=272 I forced my husband to try it (he doesn't do breakfast) and he loved it, told me it tasted like apple pie which was what I wanted to hear!

Also I went swimming today, getting much faster/ stronger as I managed 111 laps this morning in my half hour (it's a normal backyard pool) with two of my around-the-world core exercises at 50 laps and 100 laps.

Didn't end up finishing my agar experiment, going to do that tomorrow. Instead I decided to use the almond pulp in something (left over from making almond milk yesterday) I made really crumbly, nutty vanilla almond protein bars. OMG. So good. Will post that recipe on my site tomorrow.

Food plan for tomorrow

B- Curried eggs on wheat free toast with avocado

S- Agar pudding experiment (it's happening haha, I made the base for it yesterday)

L- Leftover burger on mountain bread with salad

S- Celery and carrot sticks with 40g hummus

D- Out! Woohoo!!

Exercise- 30mins strength training. Hoping Wade will be awake to box with me again! He loves it, he thinks it's funny when I get tired and I scream and grunt at him haha. I tell him before we start what I want to do, and then he makes me do it

Ah frustrated, I was all geared up for a cook up this morning and when I went to the fridge there was no eggs!!! Go through too many of them, I swear! Had one of the protein bars I made yesterday instead.

Did my agar agar pudding experiment today- it came out exactly like Yogo!! I don't know if that's just an Aussie thing or not, but it's like something that I got to have as a treat growing up. Seriously- the taste and texture were the same! Craziness!

Haven't done a workout yet, going to shortly. Wade is up so might get to box again, yay! So looking forward to going out for dinner tonight too- going to make it my cheat and have a glass of wine. EH I'm having couple days in a row of bad knees- don't know what brought it on. My right knee was bugging me yesterday afternoon and it is again today. Which is frustrating- usually on swimming days they don't bother me at all! So going to tone my lower body workout down a bit today.

Food for tomorrow

B- Going to try to make a healthy chocolate pastry!

S- 2 hardboiled eggs (going to get more eggs this arvo)

L- Baked Mediteranean chicken meatballs with stuffed capsicum

S- Homemade protein bar

D- Homemade chicken parmigiana with a homemade tomato sauce, served with salad

Exercise- 30mins swimming

Great spider story! I live out in the country myself...lately we have been having some scorpion issues but luckily I have a big dog who thinks it is her mission in life to find all scorpions and snakes and bark madly till we come kill it.

D-[/b] Homemade chicken parmigiana with a homemade tomato sauce, served with salad

One of my faves.

As for Yogo it does indeed appear to be an Australian thing, though there appears to be some yogurt companies in the U.S. using the same name for a yogurt truck business.

Brawny- Haha I have cats that run around and go mental if there's anything living in the house! Normally it's lizards or frogs driving them crazy, but have had a few incidents where it's been a spider. Which is awful- you hear them getting all excited and go and see what they're making a fuss about, and they're ripping some horrible monster to shreds and throwing it around the living room. Spew!

MrVee- Parmigiana rocks my socks!!! I make my own tomato sauce for it and crumb it in brown rice crumbs instead of bread (can't have wheat... DOH!) Husband is always happy to know parma is on the menu too! Aww, I grew up on Yogo. One of those things my parents would use to convince us to behave ourselves, haha! Though we weren't rewarded with junk food very often, my parents were health nuts... Used to rely on friends for regular junk food fixes!

Dinner out last night was awesome!

Me being a lightweight got a little passed tipsy on 2 glasses of wine (not sure they were standard glasses though, I'm sure the chick overfilled my glass both times lol- cheat for the week!) I had baked salmon (which on the menu came crusted in a sauce, so I got without both and had it with lemon) with salad on the side, and had green tea while my husband ate dessert. Hehe, his dessert was cute! (scuse the photo of non-health food! Also the restaurant was very dimly lit so the pic is dark)

Anyway... I'm off for a swim soon, I'll post later my food plan for tomorrow.

Good morning to all!! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I've been productive this morning, trying 2 new recipes (both failed, but it's pretty rare that I think "I'm going to make this!" and then magically have the right amounts of everything). Currently I'm working on a breakfast brownie with a crumble topping and vegan strawberries and cream. Haha, the mistakes were still tasty, they just need improvement! Also did a workout which was challenging, I decided to mix up all my exercises and do a few I haven't done in a while. Pretty sure I'm just chilling for the rest of the day now!

Food for tomorrow

B- Cheesy egg pie

S- Vegan strawberries and cream with coconut (take 2!)

L- Tuna and bean mountain bread nachoes

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1 tsp nut butter

D- I think I'm going out for dinner with Wade tomorrow night

Exercise- 30 mins swimming

Your recipe ingredients continually send me on Google searches which is great because it's always nice to learn new things. For example, I hadn't a clue what the hell "mountain bread" was. It sounded like a euphemism food like "mountain oysters" but I was guessing it was nothing that disgusting. Seeing that it was a tortilla like thing and then going back and seeing that you made nachos out of it, it now makes much more sense.

I managed to have a successful food experiment last night (which is rare) and I've decided that success or failure in these areas might have as much to do with the right baking dish (or pan) for the job as much as anything else.

Mountain bread is awesome stuff! Has only 4 ingredients in it and it's so versatile, I've used it in place of pastry, pasta, chips, pizza base and of course as a wrap. Love it! Only 70cals a piece too. Yay for a successful food experiment! I'm about to go and do another one right now!

Yesterday didn't end very well for me food-wise, I was really tired after a shitty nights sleep and at around 5pm I just went a bit nuts. I ate dinner early, then had a couple of protein bars and ate around half a jar of almond butter (omg. Don't judge me!) Actually managed to sleep really well last night though, went to bed at around 10pm and slept all the way through till 8am (really unusual for me!) So feeling much better today, just insanely bloated! I had a really rich breakfast this morning too, check out my site (in my signature) to check it out. It was what I was experimenting with yesterday, I finally got it somewhere awesome- though not where I was aiming for haha! It was supposed to be a brownie but ended up being a gooey, cake-y, custard-y type thing. All I know was it tasted awesome! I always feel so happy eating pretty food too haha, makes it feel more special!

I'm really sore after yesterdays workout! My poor biceps are killing me and my butt is really sore. I switched my program up a bit and did seated rows instead of lat pull downs (don't know how I missed that my machine had a rowing option!) so that would explain my biceps... but I think is from deadlifts and squat pulses. Yowch. I've been swimming this morning too, I thought it felt like I was going pretty hard but only managed 113 laps wheras the other day I managed 116. I think it's because I was swimming up the pool with my whole body, and coming back I was on my back and only kicking with my legs to make it harder. Must've slowed me down more than I thought! Here's my pool (before scooping out the leaves, oops)

It's getting really hot in this part of the country really quickly. Have to swim at 9am before it hits 40 degrees celsius as it does most days now at around 11am!

Food plan for tomorrow

B- Breakfast cookies, reworked!

S- 2 hardboiled eggs

L- Mountain bread sausage rolls with salad

S- Apple with crumble mix

D- Steak and stir fry with rice (leftovers from dinner tonight, I don't think we are going out anymore)

Exercise: Haven't decided yet, I'm thinking maybe another strength workout. I'll see how I'm feeling- it'll be a swim otherwise!

OK so my attack of the crazy binge woman thing that happened on Sunday affected my weigh in, I'm still stuck at 66.2kg. Argh. I wonder if I would've been happier GAINING a few hundred grams just so I know I'm not cursed to be stuck at that weight forever??? That's 3 weeks in a row! Tempted to jump on the scales again tomorrow and see if it's fluid retention I can get rid of in another healthy food day. See how I'm feeling about it later, if I weigh the same again tomorrow I might just go nuts!

Decided to fuel my frustration into something productive. I made a new weight spreadsheet thing, and I'm going to start weighing in on Fridays now to check in with a group I'm part of on FB. So hopefully I am holding some fluid which will be gone by then!

I've been super productive in the kitchen today, yay! So in a good mood and the day has gone really fast. Had decided to take today as a rest from exercise day but I'm jumping out of my skin- going to go for a swim in an hour or so when it's a bit cooller so I don't drive myself crazy!

Food Plan For Tomorrow

B- 2 eggs on wheat free toast with avocado

S- Banana icecream topped with homemade crumble

L- Leftover mountain bread sausage rolls with salad

S- Carrot and celery sticks with 40g hummus

D- Pesto and spinach stuffed chicken breasts with veges

Exercise- 30mins strength training

I'm in a FB group too, and we have a google docs spreadsheet that everyone can log into, it's pretty cool.

Your pool looks lovely, I wish it was warm enough here to have one, I have to go to an indoor heated pool :)
