Put DOWN the Nutella!

Morning all!!! Feeling more positive all around today, a good sleep goes a long way!! I think I'm going to suck it up and start counting calories again, going to have to be a bit stricter about sticking to my meal plan from the nutritionist too. I eat really healthy, I just think on say cooking days when I'm tasting everything I maybe don't end up getting rid of all the extra. SO. It stops now! I'll weigh in again Friday as planned... Going to set a goal for Christmas, and I want to get to my ultimate goal by my birthday- Feb 11!! Nothing's going to stop me! Least of all me!

Eh I really need a job though, sitting at home all day is sucking a fair bit. There's a part time bank job going (34hrs a week) I might apply for that. Pretty sure that would be mostly seated which is what I'm after. The problem with jobs up here is that most administrative work is on a contract, and most contracts are for at least a year. And I'm SO out of this place in 7 or 8 months!!!

Going to do a workout soon, just waiting for breakfast to settle a bit. I was having yesterday as a rest day but was way too hyper come the afternoon so I went for a swim- had to fish out a big dead lizard! Guess that's what happens when I don't swim in the morning, I'm not there to fish them out while they're still wriggling! Me= lizard wrangler.

Food plan for tomorrow

B- Homemade raspberry pastry thing (yay, another experiment!)

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1 tsp nut butter

L- Homemade mountain bread sausage rolls with salad

S- Homemade protein bar

D- Chicken breast marinated in lemon and thyme, stuffed with pesto and uncheese and served with beans and corn

Exercise- 30mins swimming

Reading home made on most everything you eat makes me jealous, I hate cooking and am not a cook in the slightest and so my home made equals sandwiches (made of 3 ingredients, pita bread, turkey sandwich meat, cheese) or tuna sandwich (canned tuna, small bit of mayo, pita bread) or my most amazing home made meal, tacos (wrap, cheese, beef) haha.

My cooking prowess has improved from an 'F-' to a solid 'D' after my successful (pretty much) cottage pie experiment last weekend. Granted _what_ I'm eating may not be too fancy (lots of meat) but I'm starting to actually prepare with something approaching competency.

I'm gonna take another stab at those breakfast cookies when I get a chance.

MysticRealm- Haha in no way am I a cook!! If I cook anything it has to only have a couple of steps, and if it doesn't, I either don't cook it or find a way to cheat (ie, I want to do something, so I'll bash at it without a recipe until I get somewhere I want...) I'm much more creative with my baking, I love making things with colour, or making pretty breakfasts that taste like dessert. Don't know why, I'm happy with anything else the rest of the day, just the dessert for breakfast thing means my day has an extra dose of happy! I'm on a pretty strict meal plan from a nutritionist so I like to push the boundaries as much as possible- there's so many things you can do with just fruit and nuts, who knew!? (I'm intolerant to wheat and dairy)

MrVee- I made cookies again yesterday!!!!!!! Posting my result on my blog tomorrow. I just made banana nut ones, but if you still have the chocolate recipe I gave you, just don't add any liquid and they come out wonderfully!! Also tasty leaving the oats whole which I did with my banana ones, but I reckon the chocolate ones I'd go with oat flour... feels naughtier like a proper cookie lol. Going to do a gingerbread version next! HURRAY for successful food experiments!!!!!! :hurray::hurray:

Workout= done, I'm all sweaty and gross and totally ready for a shower. Applied for that banking job! Just let them know about my knees in my cover letter, pretty sure it shouldn't matter though as I'm fairly certain bank tellers sit most of the day. Would be awesome to get out of the house that's for sure!

Those are some good-looking quick recipes, Luz, I do believe I'll have to try them - after converting your baffling "grams" to our more understandable stone, teaspoon, hogshead, and cup system.

Here is a recipe I have been using lately

1. Take can of spagettios out of pantry.

2. Pull lid off can. (use can opener if old type can)

3. Dump contents in plastic bowl

4. Heat in microwave till its bubbling

5. Consume in recliner

6. Rush to whatever evening activity I have to attend

Sigh!

I speak from personal experience that when you inform your personal trainer that Chef Boyardee prepared your lunch for you, his reaction is not positive. Though come to think of it I guess Spaghettios is Franco-American and not the Chef.

Luz, do they sell Chef Boyardee products in Oz? Probably not, and you should be thankful.

I think I might need my stomach pumped if I ever tried to 'bash at it without a recipe'! haha

Little John- Haha there is nothing wrong with the metric system

Brawny- Hahahaha spagettios!! I think the only things I regularly consume out of a can would be beans, tuna, and tuna and bean mix lol. Actually not even sure we sell spagettios in Aus, is that the same as spaghetti in tomato sauce? Like the spaghetti version of baked beans?

MrVee- Never heard of Chef Boyardee, tinned food is mostly produced by Heinz and Watties (of course there's a few supermarket home-brands too). Haha my PT was a pro wrestler- most of the time he was training really hard and eating enough food for a small army to bulk up. I used to take him a few tollhouse cookies I'd baked for my husband or leftover cheesecake etc which he'd eat while I was warming up! Good way to make sure I wasn't eating it, hahaha!!!

Mystic- Haha too funny! I have to say I'm more adventurous in baking than cooking, so not so much of a chance of food poisoning (unless I get a salmonella ridden egg or something and eat it with raw cookie dough while I'm tasting it! Hasn't happened yet, touch wood!)

Yay I actually managed a sleep in this morning!!! Until 7:30am anyway, which is a big sleep in for me! Both my husband and Wade were already gone for work, both are doing ridiculous hours while the store they're working in is getting re-fitted. My husband especially- he's working Sunday- Saturday doing 5am- 10pm. It's pretty awful! I'm so glad I don't work there anymore!!!

Gearing up for a swim.... Getting a bit put off as we need to put salt in it, but the local supermarket doesn't sell it anymore which means a 20 minute drive to the other side of town (both the boys have the cars, so not possible unless one of them comes home during the day). So a gross brown algae-type thing is starting to appear on the bottom of the pool- ew! But swim I must... It's been pretty vital to my becoming more able. Actually having a really good leg day today, to anyone it would look like I'm walking like a normal person. YAY! Getting there. Though I can still feel all my tight muscles and if I walk too fast I get pain behind my knees (damn you calves, just get strong and flexible again!) I'm much more stable these days!!

Bit sore from yesterdays workout, mostly in my biceps/triceps. Ate more than I should have yesterday afternoon, was tired again after having a shitty sleep... So tomorrow when I weigh in again I'm fully expecting it to still say 66.2kgs. Just to make me a little more mental. Going to be much better with food from now on!! I've been having too many little slip ups on good days, also a few full blown bad days (haha I mentioned to someone the half jar of almond butter incident, and their response was "Omg, what are you?? A gorilla??" Thought I'd mention it because it gave me the giggles for a full hour, such a random comment!) So yea... going to take NEW pics tomorrow, new measurements, set new goals. Three weeks of being stuck in limbo is more than enough!! Going to light a fire under my ass!

Food plan for tomorrow -Day 1 of 112 (I figure around 8kgs to go, losing 500g a week= 16 weeks. Also means I get to my goal my birthday week!)

B- 2 eggs, 1/3 of an avocado on 1 piece wheat free toast

S- 2 hardboiled eggs

L- Leftover mountain bread sausage rolls with carrot and celery sticks

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1/3 avocado Ended up making protein mudcake bites which were too good... ate half of them! Oops!

D- Tuna and bean hash meal (Couldn't have the planned fish n chips as our supermarket was out of fish. Getting some today and having it Sunday instead)

Also having 2 cups of coffee which ends up being around 1 cup homemade almond milk (= 20g almonds), and usually have 1-2 cups of tea (at the moment I'm drinking green tea or spearmint).

Exercise: 30 mins strength training

Total calories- 2081 Total deficit for the day- 316

Total deficit for the week- 316

So sticking to nutritionist plan 100%, snacks and all!! Only now I'm going to be calorie counting so I'm aware of how much extras are adding up to be. To lose 500g a week my daily deficit needs to be 565 cals (or more!) In the plan I was given there's definite heavier/ lighter days, starting day just ended up being a lighter one!

Edit- I DIDN'T stick to snacks today, so I'm guessing that'll be my cheat for the week!! Oops!!!

Technically? Yes. In actuality, no. Not even close. I can assure you, you've missed nothing.

MrVee- Haha good to know!! I'm not a fan of tinned spaghetti anyway, bla. It reminds me of school canteen lunches in primary school- it used to be a thing to get toasted sandwiches with cheese and tinned spaghetti. I think I was about 10 when I realised how gross it actually was!!! I'm a bean girl all the way!!!

Uhm little frustrated right now. I thought I'd plan a few days ahead- like log in my food intake in Fitday, and I think the reason I'm not losing weight is NOT because I'm eating too much like initially thought... I'm eating WAY less calories than I estimated!! I had to add in heaps of extras to each meal to make sure I was getting ONLY a 1000cal deficit, not more. The only reason I did that was because I made super awesome tasty protein cookies for my blog (will be up this week, they were awesome!) and I had the ingredients mapped in my intake... Then I decided to work out the nutrition to post with it, and I was like WHOA buddy. 360 calories for a snack, how can you afford that in your intake today? (I have a 1000cal deficit today). Double and tripled checked ALL food today, then went on and did Fri/ Sat/ Sun. It LOOKS like I'm eating a shit-load of food, but most days I barely bust 1200-1300 calories. I don't walk around a heap because of my legs, but I exercise twice a day- my 20 minute glute routine in the morning, then either a high-powered workout or a swim later on... so my daily burn is around 2400-ish +. Plus I'm up for several hours a day, baking/cleaning etc (I leave it saying 3 hours of movement and the rest seated/sleeping, but most days I stand for longer than that- just showering, doing dishes and getting up for tea/ coffee takes that amount of time, not to mention scooping the pool, baking, extra loads of dishes if I bake). Erp derp. Reality comes crashing down. No wonder I ate all that almond butter, my body was screaming FEED ME and I didn't listen! Arrrghalg;alkhsg;alskh.

Guess this means more uncheese for me! And more nuts. And more mustard (oh man, have I mentioned how much I love dijon mustard? If I had to have only one condiment the rest of my life it would be dijon... And I would do so happily, for ever and ever...)

Morning all! Weighed in at same old 66.2kgs today, was expecting it though haha. So today set my goals and filled out my chart- here we go:

Today- 66.2kgs

23 Nov- 64kgs

21 Dec- 62kgs

18 Jan- 60kgs

15 Feb- 58kgs (goal weight!)

So half a kg a week, calorie deficit of at least 565 per day. Sticking to my meal plan, going to do this!! Dinner has changed from what I planned above, a lot of produce wasn't available yesterday when shopping so making tuna and bean nachoes for dinner (just because I have ingredients I can use!!) Hate that about living in the middle of nowhere!

Todays workout was pretty horrid, I decided to have it pretty cardio heavy which for me = a great shit load of boxing. Owch. Going to be a sore one tomorrow I'm sure! Good start for my first day in I think! Posted one version of my breakfast cookies on my blog today which turned out to be INSANELY popular so that's good! Also was a bit impatient hard boiling my eggs for morning tea, they were a bit sloppy. Blah.

Food plan for tomorrow[/b] -Day 2 of 112

B- Sweet breakfast pizza (another experiment! Oh man, was so inspired last night, have about 10 recipes written up I want to have a crack at!)

S- 2 hardboiled eggs

L- Chicken and veg pies with mountain bread bases

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1/3 avocado

D- Quinoa casserole experiment <- This one I'm really looking forward to! with tuna and beans on the side

Also having 2 cups of coffee which ends up being around 1 cup homemade almond milk (= 20g almonds), and usually have 1-2 cups of tea (at the moment I'm drinking green tea or spearmint).

Exercise: 30 mins swimming

Total calories- 1440 Total deficit for the day- 958 (bringing a little more balance after yesterday! Still eating heaps though!)

Total deficit for the week-[/b] 1274

Ended up eating my cheat meal today so have to eat perfect the rest of the week!!! I made mudcake- tasting protein bites. Omg. They were too good! I adjusted calories for today in post above!

I hope you were punching a bag (or the air) and not the husband. :)

Yea I have a punching bag!! I have hook/ jab pads but usually both the boys are working so hardly get to use them. Wade will let me box him with the pads some days before work, but my husband hasn't done it before (Wade only does it after being introduced to a bit of boxing while we were on holidays). Planning on asking my husband if he'll let me knock him around a bit on Sunday. With the gloves and pads, of course :smilielol5:

Cool on the boxing!! That would be a great form of exercise! So much different than boring old treadmill or something!! I would like to give that a go, plus it'd be great for the arms I think! Good luck on your new goals!!

I love boxing, always been my favourite form of cardio. Much more fun when there's someone with you with the pads though. It's pretty much the only form of high intensity cardio I can do right now because of my legs, I mean when I swim I go as hard as I can but never get the same kind of burn going!!

Actually ended up being pretty busy today! I slept in till almost 8am which was awesome, then had a successful breakfast recipe, went for a swim in our gross pool which is turning green (it needs salt, going to get some tomorrow) and had another successful lunch recipe! Going to go and clean up all my mess in a second and prep stuff for dinner. Ended up adding an extra egg to todays intake as my lunch needed it to stick together, so todays deficit was 889cals, and I can't be bothered changing it in my above post lol.

Food plan for tomorrow- Day 3 of 112

B- Bean burger experiment with egg, tomato and uncheese on mountain bread

S- Raw strawberry cheesecake experiment

L- Leftover quinoa casserole with tuna and beans

S- Carrot and celery sticks with 40g hommus

D- Homemade fish n chips with beans and broccoli

Exercise- 30 mins strength training

2 coffees with approx 1 cup homemade almond milk, 2 cups of tea (either green or spearmint)

Total calories-[/b] 1577 Total deficit for the day- 821

Total deficit for the week-[/b] 2026
