Put DOWN the Nutella!

Just did a workout- was very much upper body. Argh my knee is shitting me right now... really worried about being able to walk around freely while on holidays!!! Hoping having the PT sessions will help a lot with recovery time. Anyhoo... excited for weigh in tomorrow!
 
I know this is like my third post for the day... but I just had to come and write one last thing!!! An old friend of mine I met when I was 16 (don't see her much anymore, I live too far from everyone!) has recently lost SO MUCH WEIGHT!! She's been morbidly obese since she was about 13... and before that was an overweight child. I've just seen photos of her- she's lost 34kg/75lbs since Feb and she has the same amount left to go. She's amazingly inspiring to me!! Just letting people know it's never too late to start, and however much you have to lose keep going and you will get there!!! She's so positive about the whole journey too, it's awesome!

67.1kg today.... arg, getting frustrated!! 3 weeks in a row in the 67s when really I should be way out of them! I snuck in a weigh in after my heavier day on Fri and I was the same- even though I've had 3000cals of deficit since then!! Going to go super hard this week, aiming for a 7000cal deficit week!! 7 perfect days, then holidays!
 
So after my little tanty above I went and checked my BF%, and worked out that the 3kgs I've lost is 3kgs of body fat... Also had some pretty serious muscle gain and I'd say bone density too after giving up all forms of junk food or processed food. Actually, my BF% is exactly the same as when I was 4kg lighter before... But i would have been losing fat, muscle, and yea probably bone density too as I had to lose most of that while I was completely sedentary. Just got to get out of my own head and stop focussing on the scales!


I think I'll have TOM at the beginning of holidays (yay for me)... Going to try to be good as I can till then. Having a heavier day today then 6 days of 1000cal deficits! Hopefully the PT sessions and eating slightly different on holidays will help me drop a bit of weight too.
 
Having another bad knee day! Only lasted 3.5hrs at work then started to hobble a bit so I went home. I think it's my new shoes, they're kind of rounded at the bottom so they're not very stable and I wobble when I walk... Wearing my old shoes now, walking around a bit better but my knee feels really stiff. Grrr. Hope I'm better in time for holidays!!!!!!!!


Kinda been munching all afternoon, felt like comfort food... stupid knee and everything. Also really tired, started work at 8am today and was expecting to be able to sleep later... so I stayed up later. But still woke up at 5! Argh Eff you body clock! My comfort food = cheese and tomato, I had it grilled on mountain bread with herbs and garlic. And I had a few more coconut crack bars. Haha. Only a 94cal deficit today- I'm aiming for 6000 this week so should be enough to make up for any days this week when I'm a bit short of 1000.


Also spent my afternoon re-working my goal timeline... I'm going to aim for my goal of 58kg by the 1st of Jan. Going home for a week then on a getaway type thing with my husband, so would be awesome if I could get there by then!! Shouldn't be a problem, it's mainly 500g a week with a few 600g weeks to get there!! Aiming to be 66.4kg by Tue next week when I leave, then 64.6kg on the 2nd Oct when I get back. And while I'm on holidays, we have 3 big restaurant outings planned (one for each week) and have decided we will get takeaway 3 times too- fish n chips, pizza and Nandos. So while I'm away I'll be aiming for 5000cal deficits every week- 5 perfect days with 1000cal deficits, and then two maintenance days so I can eat dinners out without worrying too much. Not abandoning my challenge though- won't be eating any desserts, or any bready appetisers, or anything deep fried. Still not eating packet food!! So it's kind of a free day with rules, haha! I'll probably have like 1200-1300cals for dinner on a free day, so I reckon that's a couple glasses of wine, a vegetable starter and a main... maybe with coffee after. I'm not abandoning my goals just because I'm going away! We have a kitchen where we are staying too, so I'm planning on eating pretty much the same as I am now for most of it.

Knee is still dodgy today. Argh. Sad panda! Haven't heard back about my PT enquiry, going to give them a call this afternoon.... as I want our consultation today next week, because we'll be on holidays then!!!!!! OMG YAY!!!!! Hoping to start training on the Thu so we can get a block of 10 sessions because it's cheaper than 9. Trying to think of ways to make it easy for me when I'm there, I might bring some stuff to make some non-bake items, plus I still have a few Larabars left I can take. Might buy some PB while I'm there as a snack... It'll be pretty easy, our breakfast is supplied (no choice though, it's bacon and eggs on toast. Bacon....*shudder*... And pretty sure it'll be white bread too.... So think I'll be eating eggs, then having a second breakfast lol) Then thought I'd use my morning snack cals on a coffee every day... is holidays after all!! Think lunches we are gunna be pretty cheap, going to be living on mountain bread salad and cheese wraps I think! Going to buy my fave Greek yogurt too and some chia seeds so that can be lunch or afternoon tea... and dinners are just going to be meat n veg, or we are down the road from an awesome salad bar and an awesome sushi restaurant (that both provide calorie info on every single item! WIN!) Also all the restaurants we are planning on eating at have online menus, so will plan ahead of time what I'm eating and how much... Girl with a plan!

Didn't think I was going to post again but here I am, haha! Just got excited because I was umm-ing and ah-ing about buying a new dress to wear on holidays... Well I went ahead and did it, bought a size 10... and it fit! Then I got all excited and went through my wardrobe and it all fits me again, YAY! Officially a size 10 again!
 
I was a bit naughty last night. Actually probably the worst I have been since I started... Hubby made a store-ready pizza (well after I'd eaten all my meals) and I kinda thought one slice won't hurt... ended up eating two, Then decided I wanted something sweet, so thought of what I could make.... I made this: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2012/03/29/copycat-recipe-reeses-peanut-butter-eggs/ I halved the recipe and just pressed it into a small container. I only had crunchy PB, and I used coconut sugar, and then used stevia drops in the chocolate. Anyway... 65cal deficit for yesterday. ARGH! Also, I was SO SO tired after eating that stuff!! I don't remember EVER being that tired!!!! Woke up feeling rank this morning, like I'd just eaten the entire contents of the cupboard or something. Then I thought I'd step on the scales, just because there's NO WAY I would still weigh 67.1... I was totally expecting a gain, which would've actually probably made me happy... Then I would know the scales weren't broken or I wasn't doomed to forever walk the earth at that weight.


67.1kg. FUCK.


So yea. I've since snapped out of that, and am totally going to get down to this weeks goal of 66.4kg... And going to HAVE to be perfect the rest of the week to get there!!
 
Ok... so had a bit of a day. Pretty sure because TOM is coming I'm extra emo and all over the place... but anyway. BLA. I hate feeling sorry for myself, and won't let myself feel that way!!! Had the first proper binge I've had since I started 5 weeks ago (having a bad week I think!) It ended with me cooking a HUGE entire pizza and then eating 3 pieces and snapping out of it and throwing it away!! I went about 305cals OVER maintenance... which in comparison to what I used to be like is actually pretty good, ha. Also amazing that I went a little over 5 weeks without junk food or going over maintenance! Insane!!!! So in a weird way I'm proud? (Yea that's a question because I'm not sure I understand my logic, hahaha!!!) Anyway... I'm only human. And now I'm incredibly motivated again because... to be honest a few extra pieces of pizza isn't worth it, I stopped and looked at what I was eating and thought about what I was doing and wanted to throw up. Instead I just threw it out!


I wanted to get a little more serious about this now though, organising a personalised eating plan with a nutritionist... it's a 12 week plan and you get educated a fair bit along the way, thought it sounded good! And I really want to do this properly, get healthy and actually eat the right amount of things and not just watching calories (even though I do eat pretty healthy, I think I eat way too much fat most days... And probably not enough carbohydrate other days!) So yea! This experience has motivated me a bit more I think. Just going into holidays too!!!!


Debating whether or not it's worth me paying for PT sessions now with my knee the way it is, I'll post more as it happens!!

Husband came home, he got an amazing pay rise and a huge bonus this year... so he wants to pay for the PT while we are on holidays!! And I have a Skype consultation with a nutritionist Tue morning at 8:30... so when I start hols I'll be getting training and have a proper nutritionist planned meal plan! She actually writes up 12 weeks of meals, every single day, meals AND snacks, measurements, everything for my goals. It's awesome! The meeting is to discuss my fave/least fave foods, goals, activity, etc. Then I have a 4 week, 8 week and 12 week consultation either over the phone or Skype again to see how I'm progressing and if we need to change anything. So yay, super motivated! I could potentially lose a shitload on holidays with 3 weeks of professional help!!
 
Starting to feel super keen for a healthy and full on holiday!!! Called the PT studio we decided on and they are going to call me back to set up our consultation appt. Yay!!

TOM came early this week which I wasn't expecting, probably why I ate and felt like a crazy person this week lol. Hey, it means that it'll nearly be finished when I go on hols so happy about that!!


Booked our PT consult for Wed morning at 10:30, didn't really take into account the time difference though because we fly in Tue night and have a big drive, so will be going to bed later... And that's 8:30am our time. No sleep in! Oh well... Going to be busy Tue morning too, going to pack most of my stuff on Mon and then Tue I am taking progress pics and measurements... because it would have been 6 weeks since I started my 12 week challenge! Then I may or may not post them, haven't decided yet... Also have nutritionist that morning at 8:30, leaving for the airport before 11am. I have NO idea how I'm going to survive the much longer flight!!! They better have entertainment!!


My knee is still being sore too, going to try swimming today but only for 15-20mins. Usually it makes it easier to walk afterward and I could still swim when I couldn't walk before. Really just wish it would hurry up n get better!!!! Hoping my nutrition plan might help with the inflammation in my knee....... (my IBS too, would make life so much easier!)


No plans for the weekend. Hubby and I finished Castle Crashers the other night so will probably be looking for another multiplayer game to keep us occupied lol. Also have a fair bit of Mrs Brown's Boys to watch.

Congradulations on fiting into a size 10 again, that's GREAT!!!!!!! Please post the pics! I love seeing the progress pics, and I bet you look amazing!!

Knee is being AWFUL today!!! Actually it's not even my knee, it's the knee line at the joint... I took some anti-inflammatories for my TOM and my knee is better now though, so hoping it's just inflammation. Pretty sure it's from changing my shoes- my normal ones are big flat black looking sneaker type things, and I bought some prettier skinnier shoes that fit my orthotics... but I think there's less stability because the bottoms are shaped and they're just narrower shoes, so I rock a bit more. Grrrr. It's so frustrating, I really just want to be able to walk around on my holiday!

Knee is fully fucked. Can't step on it at all. I think being unstable on it the passed week has caused me to sprain a ligament or something... Tried calling the physio office yesterday but they were closed, so going to try to get in tomorrow. I'm going holiday on Tue and I can't fucking walk! Arghghghghg FML. If I can't get into the physio tomorrow I'm going to see about getting an osteo appt over east.. Guess my PT training money will be going on physio and/or osteo instead! Unless I need scans and to see a doc. If I do I'll have to do all that on hols too, they don't have equipment here to do it. And if I need more specialised treatment/ rehab/ surgery (eek, hope not but doubt it... I've gotten this far without it) I will probably not be able to come back up here. Honestly I'd rather be stuck in this awful town for another year and be able to walk again then go home without my husband and like this.


Ate a bit extra last night (oops) so total deficit for yesterday was 636. Not doing a workout today, I don't trust I'll be able to get on the ground and back up again safely. If I see the physio tomorrow she might have some advice. Might even still be able to do rehab PT as planned, if it's MCL damage (as I suspect) they don't usually operate, I just have to strengthen my quads. Will see what physio says and keep my fingers crossed! Whatever the outcome- NOT letting this ruin my holiday. I had to get around on crutches for 2 months before... at least this time I don't have to try to work and sit all alone in my room day after day. I can be a cripple by the pool... and at a theme park... or an awesome restaurant. Much more fun!

Ok so going to have a shit weigh in this week, went around 300cals over maintenance... So will end the week on just over a 2000cal deficit. It's all good, just going to be extra awesome on holidays! Also... I'm part of a health and fitness group on fb (where I found my nutritionist)- and don't normally post... Well today I did, I mentioned the state I was going to and that my knee was really bad... several people jumped on and recommended an osteo to me who is an hour away from where we are staying. Apparently he is amazing but hard to get an appointment with. Going to ring first thing tomorrow and try really hard to get in!!! Fingers crossed!!!
 
Knee is a little better today, still hurts but I can put weight on it. Got a physio appt in about an hour to see if anything else is wrong, also going to ask her opinion on me possibly getting personal training while away... if she thinks it's ok I might ask that she write a list of things I can/can't do so it's not going to freak out the PT if I end up walking in on crutches. Haha. Called that osteo this morning and left a message, if I don't get a call back today I'll try again tomorrow morning. I'm just hoping to get a single appt sometime in the next three weeks... Not SUPER urgent because I managed to get a physio appt today. Had our plane seats changed too in case I need to use crutches, we will see what happens!


Oh, and that workout I 'missed' yesterday?? Did it today! So still have officially not skipped a single workout. YAY!
