Put DOWN the Nutella!

AAhh having problems with my good knee. I get it band syndrome pretty bad in that leg n its in full force right now. Hoping resting today will make me ok for tomorrow, using my foam roller and hoping for the best. Going to movie world tomorrow!

Had coffee in a cute little cafe this morning, so nice outside!

Food plan for tomorrow:

B- 2 eggs, 1/3 avocado, 1 piece wheat free toast
S- apple or strawberries (whichever I feel like), 40g mixed nuts
L- not sure, I think we will be out so meat n veg of some description
S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1tsp nut butter
D- other half of barramundi I'm getting tonight with roasted Italian veg and 1/2 cup brown rice

No exercise, will be walking around a heap though so likely ill be using crutches. Can't wait to get pics with the Justice League n poke around in the shop! My husband is really keen to get his hands on some Dark Knight Rises t-shirts so will do a bit of shopping for him too. Yay!

Pretty sure I've lost weight already too, only been a few days but my stomach is noticeably flatter and my waist more defined.

Heyyyyy Lucy girl, so sorry to hear about your knee..eeeeeek, it sounds painful plus annoying. Hope its on the mend soon:)

delighted for you that you feel alot slimmer and your stomach is flatter...woo woo excitement:)

Thanks so much for the kind mail too:D you are too lovely and it made me smile, i really appreciated it:) xxx

Thanks Irish, glad to see you back around again!!

Thought I'd jump on quickly and post a few pics!!

Here's the view from the day spa we went to!

At that awesome Italian restaurant

Chillin after a workout

Me and Wade chillin in the pool

Had a really lazy day, just mixing up between pool and spa. Was awesome!! Depending on the weather (which says it might rain) we may or may not still be going to Movie World tomorrow- will see!!

Thanks Jessica!!!! Having an amazing time over here. Really miss my husband though, he's having a lot of trouble sleeping without me there too. Sounds like the store is falling apart around everyone too, so many people having problems with the new manager etc... sounds pretty bad!! Husband doesn't want me to go back there either, he said it's definitely not the place for me and he really just wants to go home. So yea, no idea whats going to happen when I get back!!

I have a physio appt in a couple of hours, then depending on what he says I might be going to Movie World. Knee is pretty tender today... can't believe my GOOD knee is packing it in!!! Hopefully the physio can help me. I looked up the physio I booked in to, he looks really good. Years of experience with sports injuries etc. So... fingers crossed!!!

Also I ate pretty badly last night, ate healthy all day and then Wade went out for a bit and I got in to some biscuits (which I haven't done in FOREVER!) I've been so awesome the rest of the week though I'm not beating myself up about it. Going to be really healthy today and tomorrow, as tomorrow night we are going out to Dracula's and there's a set menu... Going to skip the entree, and eat part of the main and part of the dessert. Really want to get down to 65 by the time I get home!!

Food plan for tomorrow

B- 1/3 cup oats with a banana, 1tbsp LSA, cinnamon

S- 2 hard boiled eggs

L- Homemade sushi with 1/2 cup cooked brown rice, smoked salmon, cream cheese, spinach

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1/3 avocado

D- Out for dinner, going to skip the entree, have part of the chicken main, and part of the super chocolate-y dessert

Exercise- PT session tomorrow morning

Had my physio session... no new problems, just really bad IT band syndrome and same old patellofemoral which is what I suspected. Had lots of really painful massage, new glute exercises to do (which are SO damn hard!!! my poor butt!!!) and a few new stretches. The physio was REALLY good, nice guy to talk to and really knowledgable. He reckons he can help me heaps in two weeks... so I'm doing exercises/stretches/foam roller at home, and my sessions are pretty much just full on painful massages to release everything. He was trying to convince me to do acupuncture too, but I was like errgh no, I'm already funny about my knees, if you put a needle in one I'll pass out lol.

We didn't go to movie world as I was having problems after, instead we went to the Wax Museum which was pretty bad haha. None of the wax figures looked like who they were supposed to be! There was a really cool 30min guided tour of a heap of torture instruments though, we enjoyed that!! Not allowed to take photos on the little tour (boo) but here are some photos from the wax museum!

Me with a zombie (I liked the monsters more than the celebrities!)

Really bad Elvis

Wade with really bad Michael Jackson

My knee kinda turned to shit after we took these photos, so I grabbed crutches out of the car for the medieval tour.

Anyhoo. Plan for tomorrow is PT in the morning, then Ripleys believe it or not in the afternoon! Our booking for Dracula's was changed to Wed so after that not sure!

I got to experience some of that deep painful massage back in my football palying days....The PT told me it was called "Rolfing" I just pictured this huge swedish guy named Rolf who must have invented it. They told me it was to break up scar tissue but I think it was to torture the patient!

Wow, Luz where are you that you get to go do all these cool things like that torture device tour, Ripleys believe it or not, and Dracula? Sounds like stuff I'd love! Hope you're having a fantastic time!

Sorry to hear about the knee problems. I dislike all of my joints, but probably my knees the most. Though, I've been having more neck problems lately than anything else. I get really bad headaches that affect my neck and shoulders, real day killers! Anyways, I have this shiatsu pillow massager that does wonders. It has heat as well. I'll lay on that on my neck or shoulder area, which sometimes is pretty painful, but after awhile it's really soothing. Most of the time the area is super tender/sore the next day, but it's completely worth it!

Hope you're having tons of fun! :)

AYea Brawny, its incredibly unpleasant. Though after feeling extra crippled all afternoon yesterday (even crutches were hard) I'm SO much better today.

Munch- I'm in Queensland at the moment! On the Gold Coast with my friend Wade for 3 weeks. Dracula's is tomorrow night now, I'm so excited. It's a 3 course meal in a themed restaurant- its an adult cabaret and the food is all themed and presented in a really awesome way! Check out the website- http://draculas.com.au/queensland

Rained heaps last night! Think its cleared up a fair bit now though, PT in a couple of hours!

Awesome PT session today!!! Had a different person again, a chick this time. Someone must've put a note on my file to smash me, I had to do 15mins of boxing with a shitload of squats, followed by pull ups with really heavy bicep curls... did a heap of ab work too, and then finished with extra glute stuff. I'm going to be sore tomorrow!! And my poor butt- I have to do a really hard glute workout twice a day from the physio, plus the extra bit I did with her today. Hahaha my ass will be awesome by the time I go home!!! Also had a missed call and a msg from the physio wanting to see how I pulled up after yesterday which I thought was great- much better service than home, that's for sure! I'm walking around a bit better today too, soooo much better than yesterday!

Just made pizza for lunch- OMG was awesome. I folded a mountain bread in half, then spread 40g x lite Philadelphia cream cheese over it, topped it with leftover veg from dinner last night (roasted sweet potato, eggplant and sundried tomatoes) then added 100g lean ham that I chopped, and a sprinkle of parmesan. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hit the spot so well!!!

Food for tomorrow

B- 2 eggs on 1 slice wheat free toast (out of avocado!! Oh no!!!)

S- Fruit (probably an apple) and 40g mixed nuts (I eat a raw ABC mix- almonds, brazil nuts and cashews)

L- Wrap with tuna and bean mix with salad greens

S- Carrot and celery sticks with 40g hummus

D- Dinner out at Draculas (link in above post- check it out!!! Our food is served in a skull, and dessert is a chocolate coffin!!!)

No exercise tomorrow, physio at midday then looking to do a river cruise or something in the afternoon.

River cruise for afternoon is ON! We are doing a 2 hour afternoon tea cruise on the canals, viewing houses of the rich and famous. Yay!!! So physio at 12, cruise 2.30-4.30, then I'll have late afternoon tea... and then Dracula's tonight!! Super exciting day today!!!

Legs are slightly better, lot of pain around my knees though. Argh. And my back and shoulders are sore from yesterdays workout!! In a good way though of course!!!

Posting food now as I won't be on again today. So..

Food for tomorrow

B- 1/3 cup oats, 1 banana, shredded coconut, chia and cinnamon

S- 2 wheat free crackers, 1 tsp mixed nut butter

L- Wrap with chopped chicken breast cooked in garlic and cream cheese with salad

S- 200g pot set yogurt with cinnamon, 20g almonds

D- Homemade chicken parmigiana with 1/2 cup rice served with homemade veg sauce, and parma made with 1/2 a chicken breast, lean ham and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

Exercise- PT session at 10:30am tomorrow! Bring it!!

Fantastic attitude! You are in a positive groove....Hold on tight to your dream (sorry for the corny 80s song lyric but it seemed to fit)

Hahaha thanks Brawny!!

Physio went ok, I was pretty sore already when I went in and then he spent 20mins torturing me mostly with his elbows in my butt. I now have 6 exercises to do at home and 4 stretches, takes like 20mins to get through and I have to do it twice a day. I'm going to have buns of steel when I get home!!!! Haha but really... He says my glutes are really tight and my glute medius is weak, so my hips externally rotate and my knees point in, causing my feet to hit the ground flat and over-pronate. So it's all cuz of my butt!!! Wicked. Did I tell you the physio wears a suit?? It's really weird, my session is pretty much all massage so he rolls up his sleeves and chucks his tie over his shoulder and gets into it. Haha thought that was funny?

Cruise yesterday was sooo nice, best day for it!! So warm and sunny. Here's some snaps:

It was a cruise on the canals, we saw some HUGE houses! There was one with it's own helicopter and helipad. Pic above is a picture of Surfer's Paradise (where we're staying!)

Draculas: OMG last night was possibly the best night EVER. Dracula's was amazing!!!!! We dressed up (and look, I didn't have to wear sneakers for once!! Physio is helping! Am still wearing my orthotics of course):

When we got there we were greeeted in the carpark by a heap of people dressed in costume and corsets. They were all pulling the piss out of everyone as we were lining up, and coming around talking to everyone. Got a couple pics with them!!

We weren't allowed to take photos anywhere in the building... But I'll tell you about it!!!

We had to ride a ghost train to get into the restaurant which was trippy as haha, lots of stuff falling on us and at the end someone jumped out of the wall and yelled at us so jumped a bit. (Later in the night before the main show they said there was an infrared camera that filmed that bit, so they played through everyone jumping... was SO funny!) In the restaurant (which looked SO AMAZING by the way!!!) there was an amazing band playing- they do all the music for the show too. Lots of random songs they've made evil-jazzy if that makes sense? LIke everything was off the Adams Family lol. We ate first, I skipped the entree, had 2 glasses of wine... ate the full main which was a chicken breast, broccolini and rice in mushroom sauce (YUM) and I also ate the whole dessert which was pretty small. It was a chocolate coffin with chocolate mousse inside it and a glob of cream. YUM! So yea, cheat day for this week!!!

The show itself was amazing- can't tell you how awesome the music was!!!! The host and one of the main singers came out a few times and did some stand up which was awesome, there was heaps of random songs, a heap of acrobatics... haha at the end there was a puppet show where they sang Bohemian Rhapsody as Queen which was SO AWESOME!!! Oh and they had this bit at the end where the cast played there favourite theme song or sci fi song... The lead guitarist came out and did a crazy metal version of the Doctor Who theme song which was so cool, and they finished with the Time Warp.

Can't get over how crazy the whole experience was, even the waitstaff were fully costumed and keeping everyone entertained all night. Our waitress was called Mistress and she kissed my hand when she seated us, haha! And there was a waitress walking around with a big realistic (but plastic) chainsaw. They kept grabbing my hair when they walked passed too, haha and one of the waiters (dressed as Frankenstein) came up to me during a song and whispered in my ear... But all he was saying was 'Ok, laugh like I said something funny, now nod and say yes like we are having a conversation, now shake your haid and say no, no no no, now look over there and pretend you're angry'... After he left I was like WTF? Haha it was like full crazy fun all night.

Truly best night ever!!

Had a nice relaxing day today, went to PT this morning and it was SO hot when we left, spent ages in the pool afterward. Having a few problems with my shin today on the same leg as my bad IT band syndrome... right under my knee. Owie! Physio again tomorrow afternoon though, think after that I'm going to get my hair cut.

Food for tomorrow

B- 2 eggs on 1 piece wheat free toast

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1/3 avocado

L- Wrap with chicken, salad and parmesan

S- 2 hard boiled eggs

D- Homemade chicken parma with 1/2 cup rice and cooked veg sauce

Sound like you are really de-stressing...Thats gotta feel nice.

Your pics are cool.....wish I was on holiday!

Went out for dinner which was nice, I had salmon and salad. However when we decided to go to a bar my leg fully fucked up... Like I couldn't walk. Had to hobble back to the car, grrrr!! Really don't want to ruin this holiday for Wade, but I feel like I'm letting him down. Arrgh. Physio wanted to do acupunture today and I said no, he said he'll ask me again on Mon cuz he thinks it might help me so I think I might just suck it up and do it... Don't think any pain will top any that I've had already. So yea... that'll be a fun day!

Food plan for tomorrow

B- Oats with tbsp LSA, banana and cinnamon

S- 2x hard boiled eggs

L- Wrap with tuna and bean mix, tomato and salad
S- 2 crackers with 1/3 avocado

D- Chicken parmigiana that I didn't eat cuz I went out!

Exercise- PT session tomorrow!!!

So hoping my leg will be better, really want to go to Ripley's believe it or not museum in the afternoon without being on crutches. If I need them though I'll suck it up and do it!!

Had PT this morning, arrhh leg is being dodgy still!!!! My new harder glute routine is even HARDER than the other one too, did it this morning before we headed out. Good thing I did though, PT was all upper body cuz I'm hobbling like an old woman!

Food plan for tomorrow

B- 2 eggs, 1 piece wheat free toast with 1/3 avocado

S- 2 wheat free crackers, 1 tsp nut butter

L- Wrap with roast beef, cream cheese, tomato, mixed salad leaves

S- 200g pot set yogurt with cinnamon

D- Steak wrap with salad

Going to have a quiet day tomorrow I'm pretty sure. Just going to wait n see how I go today. It's hard even on crutches at the moment. Grr.

Went to the Ripley's museum yesterday which was cool! Today we went out for breakfast (I just had coffee, I'd already eaten) and we tried to go to seaworld but it was a huge trek from the car inside, then huge amounts of walking to get everywhere... even on crutches both my legs gave up really fast. Then had to trek all the way back to the car. So really truly crippled today. Feel so bad for Wade, really don't mean to put a damper on things. Just so frustrating!!! Hey, I got to see penguins today though. I LOVE penguins!! So that was something at least!!!

Food plan for tomorrow

B- 2 eggs on 1 piece of toast with 1/3 avocado

S- Strawberries and 40g mixed nuts

L- Mountain bread pizza with 1 piece mountain bread, ham, cream cheese, tomato and spinach

S- 2 wheat free crackers with 1 tsp nut butter

D- 140g barramundi fillet with 1/2 cup rice, broccoli, cauliflower and green beans

Exercise- PT session tomorrow morning at 10am!

Also getting acupuncture tomorrow. Eek! Wish me luck!!

Some exciting news... We are moving over here next year! Spent some time checking out schools and there's a few really good ones for me to get my bachelor degree in health science! Going to do either nutritional medicine or naturopathy- leaning toward the latter as it is both plus western herbal medicine as well. Also my husband is pretty keen to change jobs and it'll be much easier for him with the extra competition over here. And more gay friendly for Wade! So planning on coming over for a few years minimum and running amok! Rent is quite cheap with the 3 of us too. Really hoping I can walk again soon, would love if I could finish my fitness quals before moving over. If I can't... well, that's life I guess! Would love to be able to take advantage of the beaches and awesome cycling tracks around here though. Arrgh. My stupid legs.

AHad acupuncture... Wasn't SO bad, at least no more painful than the massage I've been getting. He gave me a referral to get an MRI on that knee though, so getting that done on Wed. He thinks I might have a lateral meniscus tear... Boo! I'm really not sure though, this knee was fine forever through my other knee being terrible. He really wanted to see what was going on though so yea! This holiday is ending up pretty expensive... Can't claim the MRI on private health and I used all my physio for the year ages ago. Actually I'm more worried about there being nothing wrong with the joint as he keeps asking me about rheumatoid arthritis and other systemic problems. Don't have pain or anything anywhere else in my body... I guess we will just have to wait and see!

Food for tomorrow

B- oats with banana, coconut, chia seeds
S- 2 hard boiled eggs
L- wrap with steak, cream cheese and salad
S- 2 crackers with 1/3 avocado
D- unsure as we are going out!

Not sure what we are going to do tomorrow, legs were pretty bad over the weekend and going to the theme park was a bit of s fail. Argh.
