Put DOWN the Nutella!

Haha ok my above post was TOM brain. Decided I didn't in fact want to eat that much sugar after doing so well... So having a huge pizza feast with all the rest of the veg in my house (hey Irish, I'm having 2 pizzas! And eating up to maintenance!!! YEA!!!) Wasn't much left in the fridge TBH- so I'm having pizza on mountain bread with extra sharp cheese, chopped fresh tomato, basil, garlic powder and chopped green onions. Also had an extra bit of cheese, lol... So yea. I like the idea of eating up to maintenance on relatively healthy food than having a deficit on another day with a heap of sugar! Go me!!

Haha Vero! I changed my mind though, not eating ice-cream all day today... Instead I ate pizza all yesterday afternoon and felt like a bit of a glutton. Woke up this morning and was still full, but when I looked in the mirror I was like hmm... My waist is looking a lot smaller today... I don't like weighing during the week (once is stressful enough thanks!) so I grabbed the tape measure- I've been eating well like this for 12 days (and exercising) and I've already lost a whole inch off my waist!!! I am pretty stoked right now.


In other news, I have the weekend off!!!! Crazines!!! My knees hurt today though, not really sure why I only worked 4 hours on my feet yesterday and they were pretty good. Think I might try swimming later, it's supposed to get up to 32 degrees again today so I'll take advantage of the warm weather!!! Arrgh I looked up the current weather for the Gold Coast (4 weeks 3 days till we go!) and weather is FREEZING over there right now!! Really hoping it'll warm up!! No point lounging by the pool in jeans and a coat, haha!! Well it's not THAT bad, it's like 8 degree nights and 20 degree days... but too cold to swim! Damn winter!
 
OK for someone who eats peanut butter pretty much every day, how had I not dipped into my coconut butter jar except for when cooking? I just tried the last bit... It's kind of like a not-so-sweet white chocolate. OMG. I think I have a new top favourite food. Only... that teaspoon I had was the end of the jar. BOO!


I swam today, didn't feel like working out. It's all good though- only strength training 3x a week, so if I work out tomorrow that's the third for the week. Sitting outside drinking tea right now, it's soooo nice out here!!!!

Had a really good workout this morning, upped most of my weights and managed 3 push ups off my toes at the beginning of each set of push ups (so did 3 full ones, then 12 off my knees... 3 times) Went fairly hard on my back too, think I'll actually be a bit sore tomorrow! Makes me realise I let myself get a little complacent with my workout... Eh, going hard now!! Thinking of going for a swim too, depending on how I feel (TOM came yesterday, in a bit of pain) If I do I'll be upping my food intake.


Think I'll post tomorrows food too in case I don't come back online today- having a higher calorie day as I'll be working on my feet and swimming tomorrow.

Did a bit of baking this arvo- WOW best discovery ever!! If you have a chip addiction try this- 2 tins chick peas rinsed/patted dry, mix with 2 tablespooons oil (olive or rice bran oil) and 2 tablespoons of garam masala, then spread in a single layer over a baking tray and bake at 180 degrees celcius for 45 minutes. SO crunchy and so good!!!! If you divide it into four serves: 230cals, 10g fat, 28carb, 10protein.


Have had a nice lazy day off with the husband today, been watching old episodes of Criminal Minds and chillin. Was so nice!
 
Had an extra snack last night, I ate a serve of chick peas cuz they were so good... so will finish up the week with around a 5800cal deficit. Yay!! Really was aiming for 68kg this week, but have to get 68.2kg to stay on track with my goal... Just worried cuz TOM has only just started and I retain water like crazy! I have been really good though... I guess we will see!!! Weigh in tomorrow!!!!
 
Finished a full day of work on my feet today! First in 8 weeks!!!! YAY PROGRESS!!! Also went swimming for half an hour when I got home. Had to up my calories to 1755 so I wouldn't have more than a 1000 cal deficit (ended on 1013- SWEET) Now I'm just sitting outside drinking tea. Feeling mega bloated, really hope it's not going to stuff up my weigh in!! Damn fluid retention! In other news, tomorrow is pay day so I can actually sort out different food... feel like I've been eating the same thing every day for ages!

Heya ludafuz I like reading your diary, your food sounds delicious! So many great healthy homemade goodies. I also thought of you this morning when I was in the supermarket - There was this HUGE pyramid of those GIANT size Nutella Jars in the middle of one of the isles, when ever I pass the nutella I pause for a moment and look at it wistfully before moving right along. I cannot have nutella or peanut butter in my house - it never lasts more than a day or so no matter what size the jar. My will power is exactly ZERO when it comes to these 2 things and Oh my these 2 things combined Oh my I might sell a kidney for that. Any way when I passed the Nutella pyramid I remembered the name of your diary and smiled so when I got in now I thought I just drop you a note to say hi :)

Ahhh I'm so frustrated! After having such an awesome food/ exercise week I'm 69.1kg... I mean I know it's fluid retention bla bla, but still annoyed! Decided to take a look at the bigger picture and check my body fat- it's dropped almost 2%! In two weeks!! So yay to that and boo to the scales lol. Not changing my signature, I think I might weigh in again in a couple of days instead.
 
luzdafuzz, thanks so much for the support on my diary!!! I'm definately going to look up some of the material you suggested. Your meal plans look awesome, I like how you are planning your days ahead, such a great idea. I should really copy that idea and get my meals planned ahead, I can see where my lack of planning is an issue. Plus it looks like you have some yummy creative meal plans!
 
Hi Rainy!! Yea planning food for the next day makes life SO much easier! I plan exercise and daily activity ahead too so I know how much I'm burning. Makes me feel like I have something to stick to so I make it habit!

as usuall my stomach is growling....I amgonna have to try those chick peas I have a ton of cans and I was running out of idea what to do with em kids love hummus but can`t send it to school anymore cause of sesame allergies!
 
Ahhhhh... I'm SOOOO frustrated right now!!! I weighed in again this morning, and every time I stepped on the scales it was different!!!!! So I did that pushing the scales around the floor thing... I got 67.7kg once, 68.4kg like 3 times and 68.6kg 3 times as well. Oh, got 69.1kg once as well... I might say 68.6 then to be safe and might try again tomorrow!??? Stupid digital scales!!! I wonder if the floor in our bathroom is uneven or the scales are dodgy?


Exciting news... me with the Nutella addiction just found THIS recipe: http://balancedplatter.com/dairy-free-chocolate-hazelnut-fudge/ Um hello, healthy Nutella fudge! Also at http://www.thespunkycoconut.com/ there's a couple of recipes for healthy gluten free donuts that sound amazing!! Anyhoo back to recipe above- I got really excited and went searching for a place I could buy hazelnuts in bulk (planning ahead- was going to try a healthy nutella recipe at some stage anyway) and I found a place that I can buy bulk nuts/seeds/grains and random health food bits n pieces really cheap... and as much as I buy it's only $3 postage because the company is in the same state. 10 minutes later I'd ordered 6kgs of random stuff...!!! Means I'll have a heap of baking to do next week, lol!


Oh yesterday was payday, so going to do a big grocery shop today. I made sure to hang on to some money in my account though to get veges n stuff later on in the week. I'm going to make a sweet potato and lentil soup today so I have something to freeze for later on, also going to make my usual meatballs and breakfast oatmeal cake...So busy day of cooking ahead of me. Was also thinking of making some more spinach and feta parcels but they take sooo long. AH. I might just do it... also buying a heap of mountain bread (as I went through the packet in like 3 days last week!) and pizza ingredients and random bits n pieces. Going to be prepared properly this week!
 
I'm chillin now!!!! Made breakfast for the week, chicken meatballs for my work lunches for the week, a HUGE pile of red lentil and sweet potato soup (super yummy, had some for lunch), and roasted a heap more chick peas. Ahhh they are so good warm out of the oven!! Added a generous pinch of salt to the mix this time too, made the spices pop. Wasn't necessary but made them so much yummier!


AH bit of a downer on the day... we have no hot water!!! I'm patiently hoping the plumber will come in today... Went for a swim and had to follow that with a cold shower, wasn't a pleasant way to end it. Drinking a pot of tea now to warm back up!

Hiya MrsInez- welcome back! i'vebeen off and on the forum for years now too!


Just stopping in quickly to say... stepped on the scales again today and was 68.1kg. So guessing that's all fluid gone and I ended the week with a 700g loss. Yay!
 
Decided I'm having a slightly higher calorie day tomorrow and not exercising... think tomorrow works best as my day off as I have work then physio at 2:30, so it'll probably be too late in the afternoon to swim. So tomorrow is my day off!


Still waiting for the plumber to come and replace our hot water system... 2 days in a row with cold showers, it SUCKS! Doing a bit more cooking this arvo too- at the moment I'm roasting half a pumpkin, I'm going to make spinach and feta filo triangles to freeze and thought I'd throw pumpkin in too. Then my freezer will be full of easy food again, YAY!
