Progress and Setbacks - the Road Ahead

I think we all need to make a pact to eat really really well one of these weekends... That way we know we're all suffering together, haha. Congrats on the <240! 220s, you're up next!

Whoopwhoop! I think a "perfect weekend pact" is about the longest term commitment I´m capable of right now, I´d say we do it :)

Thanks Oaks, LaMa and Cate, I think a weekend pact is a great idea. For my part I'm going to also up my step goal to 13,000 to see if that helps keep the weekend from sneaking in. This weekend's challenge is the wife's birthday weekend which is going to involve having friends over to visit and plenty of temptation.
Weight ticked slightly up today without breaking the 240 again. (Evening snacks snuck in for a few extra calories on the day.) Now time to get back on the treadmill to get a few thousand more steps in. Have made the 10,000 steps every day for over two weeks (17 days) now so it's becoming a streak that I want to keep going.

Food: Good, Steps: 10,000+ Weight: 239.8 10,000 Step Streak: 17 days

17 days does start to sound like a streak, well done! Is security getting suspicious yet? I´m in for the weekend challenge: my goal is to eat no more than 2000 kcal Friday-Sunday and to work out twice.

17 days does sure sound like a streak to me. OK-1500 cals average for me (Sat, Sun, Mon), 1 game of golf & work out twice as well (incl. the 18-hole game of golf)

Ready to attempt to crush a weekend everyone? I'm starting out with three near identical weigh ins for the week 239.6, 239.8 and 239.7 so weekend will need to be solid if I want to not lose ground on the week's gains.

Food: Good, Steps: 10,000+ Weight: 239.7 10,000 Step Streak: 18 days

Weekend challenge? Whose dumb idea was that?!?

Oh.... That was MY idea? Hmph.

I'm also entertaining this weekend (which I do roughly twice a year) so I'll have to think about my goals. But Fridays at work mean free lunch and dessert so I will start by making smart choices today, which I haven't been doing the last few weeks. The house needs to be thoroughly cleaned and food prepped so I'll be on my feet lots. Thanks K&D for letting us take over your thread momentarily! You got this, I'm prepared for happy news from your scale next week!

Sounds like we´ve got a plan! Or plans, rather, but let´s not pick nits (which is a weird thing to say, by the way; surely if you had nits you´d want someone to remove them?).

Thanks for bringing the weekend challenge into the thread Oaks and thanks LaMa and Cate for pitching in.
Started Saturday off with a small drop, managed to get the extra steps in and did well on the eating front so waiting to see what the scale has in store for tomorrow.
Food: Good, Steps: 15,000+ Weight: 239.3 10,000 Step Streak: 20 days

Made it through Saturday very well. Not so sure about today on the eating front but the exercise went very well with a long walk outside to change it up from the treadmill. Will see what the scale holds tomorrow but so far it's looking like I should be able to stay under 240 and am now back to making progress towards the original goal weight of 230.

Food: Good, Steps: 14,000+ Weight: 237.6 10,000 Step Streak: 21 days

More than 30 pounds lost in 5 months. That's a really good healthy rate of loss. That's a heck of a step streak! You'll get to your goal soon.

Happy Monday! (I hate it when people say that, but maybe typing it is less obnoxious?) I'm sending good thoughts to your scale. Is the weather amazing where you are? A long walk in warm January weather beats the treadmill for sure.

So I made it through the weekend in flying colors. Went over 15 and over 14k steps on Saturday and Sunday besting the 13k goal and kept the eating in check. Instead of gaining weight as I usually do I've actually dropped 3.6lbs on the weekend and have seen a drop in body fat % as well.

I do miss being able to edit older posts as I had been using my first post to track the weight loss over time. That and the formatting changes have really messed up that plan.

Thanks Q, it's been a bit of an up and down battle since December but heading back in the right direction again now.
The weather here is probably similar to yours Oaks, we've been getting a break from the worst of winter this year but temperature still hovering nearing the freezing mark. Nice for walking since the temperature keeps me from overheating right now.
Change indeed, I seem to either be on a good streak and lose or a bad streak and regain. Very few weeks of staying in one place so I'll take the loss gladly.

Went for another 2 hour walk outside today so the steps are covered. Keep thinking that I should get back into running but right now concentrating on walking and clean eating will help bring the weight down to limit the impact when I restart. Might be able to reach the 230 goal by the end of the month with a few more good weeks.

3.6 pounds? Whoa! I just went back and re-read the first couple of entries you made on her and it looks like you're crushing your weight loss goals.

230 would be sweet! Just 26 pounds to go for me. :(
In -6.1 I'll at least be back in the 240s. Keeping kicking ass K&D!

Thanks Oaks and Q and everyone else on the forum for the motivation,
If I can keep it together long enough to hit 230, I'll have to re-evaluate the weight goal again. 230 is a decent weight for me at 6'1'" but still heavy for running and other impact activities.
Clothes are starting to get a little loose now so may have to consider taking some of the bigger items out of the rotation and re-try some of the clothes that had been too tight before.
