Photocrazed - Journey to a Healthy lifestyle

I only lost 0.5 pounds, doesn't seem like much, but I took my measurements and took an inch off my arms, waist and hips. Legs and thighs are still the same, but that's where I put my fat first, which means it will be the last place it will be taken off. You're doing an awesome job and the weight is just a number!

BTW, saw the nutrional information on the Tomato Basil soup and found out:
1 cup = 270 calories, with 20 grams of FAT  That's 180 calories of fat in the soup. I couldn't believe it! Good thing you're not living next to a Byerly's!

Why do you think you are up a pound?

Are you taking measurements?

Oh, and good morning. :)

I know why I'm up a lb. My eating was less than great/good/ok when I was away on spring break. Even though I did some physical things, I didn't do enough compared to the calories I took in.

I just took my measurements one day last week or one day this week, I can't remember. I don't have anything really to compare them too yet, but I can tell you that I feel a helluva lot better than I felt in January.

I just went to Lowes Hardware and purchased 540lbs worth of yard stuff, lime, fertilizer and grass seed. I was actually happy about pulling the heavy cart through the outside store and the parking lot. I even declined the nice gentleman's offers of helping me put those big heavy bags in my vehicle. LOL. I enjoyed it, every bit of it!!! Although I should have told them they could come help put in down in the yard.. :D .

<tangent>
Ok, when did I become "ma'am"? I really would like to know at what point does it change from "miss" to "ma'am"! One of the guys called me ma'am in the store, and I'm sure he meant no disrespect by it at all, but I've been told by most people that I look 22-23 years old.

Does it matter when people call you ma'am? have you ever thought about it? Why did it make me feel this way? Do I associate ma'am with being old? definitely some things to think about.
</tangent>

ma'am

I have wondered the same thing when I get called ma'am but I think in most cases its young shy men who are just being polite.

hum...yea, i don't like being called ma'am either. It does have a meaning of being old behind it, i think?

Anyways, heres to a better week!! Thanks for supporting me in my diary!

I replied to your idea (fantastic, by the way!) on my diary.

As for the "ma'am thing"........... I get that all the time at work, usually from creepy people trying to scam me about something. Also they are usually older than me! I'm only 30, and am in the same boat where I still get carded if ordering a drink or going to something that requires age of majority.

They're just jealous!:p

Wow. Losing that much from all those areas is great!!! I have noticed that I'm getting closer to the next belt hole, so that does show some progress.

that really is surprising about the fat and calories for that soup. Well, I guess that's why I got so fat when I was living there. HAHA

ma'am = old - i don't see it as a respect thing at all - just an old thing :)

though I have abuddy in louisiana where ma'am is what the women are called and she swears that maam would bother me if the right cowboy in nicely fitting levis called me ma'am :) i tend to agree :)

I think I need more cardio than what I'm getting. Really, the only cardio I am getting is my HIIT sessions during the week. ....hmmm.

Ok I'm in on the April challenge! :) Thanks for the nudge. I need those sometimes.

Also for the record, I don't ever want to be a maam.... ug.

Well, today, I realized that I skipped the weight training that I was supposed to do Wednesday and instead did the same thing as Monday's so, I did Wednesday's today.

So..

Treadmill 1.5 miles
120 lbs Deadlifts--did them standing on the bowflex bench this time instead of using dumbbells. .. I need to find a better safer way to do these.
80 lbs 2 sets 6 Military Press
120 lbs Lat pull down 2 sets 6 (pull down to front of chest pull down behind neck= 1 rep)

I plan to get back on treadmill when hubby gets home and then have him critique my deadlift to make sure I'm doing them correctly.

Well, I got back on the treadmill last night after hubby got home. I jogged 3/4 mile before walking again. I was really surprised. I did 1.25 miles the 2nd time on treadmill for a total of 2.75 miles yesterday.

Breakfast
Back to Nature Energy Start, 2 serving (this had 30G protein!!!!)
Milk, nonfat, 0.5 cup
Tropicana Orange Juice w/Fiber, 1 serving

Lunch
Saltine Cracker Fat Free, 1.1 serving
Starkist Chunk Tuna 3.0 oz, 3 oz

You really are doing fantastic with the workouts. And HIIT is really, really great for fat burning, so you can feel good about that. :)

As for the whole "ma'am" thing... it's not a tern that's used a whole lot around here, which I'm thankful for. I think it really does sound old! The only time I'm ever called ma'am is when telemarketers or credit card/bank people call and try to rip me off. Calling me something that makes me feel old doesn't score them any brownie points. I was actually called ma'am once when I was 14! Haha Some phone survey person called my house and referred to me as ma'am 3 or 4 times.

Well, I had a cheat dinner last night. We went to Hubby's work place and then went out and had Teppanyaki afterward with one of his co-workers. I tried to stop eating when I was full, but I allowed others to encourage me to continue eating and I feel bad about that. I also had a drink called the Green Dragon. It kicked ass. Sooo Good!

Glad you had a Yummy dinner! You're right, today you're back on track :)
That's the best way to deal with those little indulgences!

good for you - it is ok to indulge you just cant let it continue on and turn it into a splutge or binge - isnt it amazing when we can see just how far we have come and how much progress we have made - I never use to be able to eat in moderation...or just have one bite or one treat or whatever...I think it is great and htat drink sounds yummmy!!!

Glad you enjoyed it, good for you that you don't feel bad about it and can jump back on track--that's key to staying on track. Last night I ate at a french restaurant and wine bar--so I consumed too many calories but the portions were so small, I didn't really get physically full! lol
