Photocrazed - Journey to a Healthy lifestyle

Well, I think I did let myself get a little overworked and stressed. This last week has been a more relaxing week ready to hit the weight loss train for April. I had an exam this weekend and also I have been super stressed with school and work. I am definitely going to try and post at least once to twice a day, but I'm not sure how many diaries I'll be hitting. We are coming up on the last four weeks of school, and I really need to keep these A's in my classes.

Thank you all for your support!
Mornin! Here's a thought for you...chronic or prolonged stress can keep your cortisol levels elevated - playing havoc with your ability to lose (or even maintain) weight even if the cals are in line. The easiest (and best IMO) approach is one that I got from reading a book by Dr. Perricone. In a nutshell, during a period when stress is high 1)eliminate as much sugar as possible, especially from your first and last meal of the day, 2)eliminate all caffine other than green or black tea, 3) start the day with a cup of green tea and 4)try as hard as possible to get a full night's sleep.

Hope this helps and have a great (stress free) week!

Ive been wondering abt oyu - you havent poped up in my sbscription list lately - I hate being super stressed and on teh go nons top - I usually am however but tha tdoesnt make me like it any more...LOL - good luck to you on your classes and wow you've got alot going on - you work two jobs ???

Thanks everyone, and yes cinderelly, I work 2 jobs. Previously, I hadn't been working every day, so it was much more manageable. Now that I'm working almost everyday and sometimes both in 1 day, it makes it harder with all this school work etc.

Yesterday afternoon, I was so stressed from the one class, that I couldn't handle going to the 2nd job, so I came home and went walking/jogging in the neighborhood across the street. It has some major hills in it so it was fun. I ended up getting in 4 miles yesterday, and am thinking I'll try the same thing this afternoon after class.

cym, thanks for the tips. I'm definitely going to have to try that out!
My mom graduates from community college in May, and I want to be thinner for that!

hope youre not working yourself too hard... but also good luck for your exams.. mine start again in may.
glad to see your still doing th running :] are you going outside for it now then? x

Morning Photocrazed :) Glad to hear you took some you-time yesterday. Sounds like you need it right now. 4 miles - nice! I love exercise, not only are we making ourselves physically fitter but also mentally stronger in the process. I'm sure the next month or so will see you through to being slimmer for your mom's graduation :) Have a great day!

Way to go getting those 4 miles in yesterday - it is such an outlet for getting rid of stress!

Well, I don't think I did much last week, but I am going outside this week. when it's warm enough too. High today so far is 79, but I'm sure it'll get warmer.

Thursday-Sat this week the low temp isn't even at 30 degrees F. So, those days will be a little harder to make myself go outside. I may do treadmill then.

We're having a cold week too, so I sympathize :( I hope it warms up soon. It's supposed to be spring! Enjoy your walking/running anyway, whether it's inside or outside.

Been a while since I stopped in here. Sorry to see that you are stressed! Reduce your training if you haven't already. Stress is systemic.

I did cut back on training.. well, I haven't done much the last 2 weeks. I'm feeling a little better now, and think I might be able to handle it and plan to kick it back up for this next week.

Last July I had an anxiety attack and it affected me for 6 weeks following the attack. A few weeks ago, I started having the same after affects that continued for the 6 weeks after my attack and as soon as I recognized them, I slowed down everything. I relaxed my dieting and exercising and only did what I had to do, so I am feeling better.

Volleyball starts again April 19, and I'm so excited!! I can't wait to get back on the court. Also, I wore a skirt to work on Wednesday, and WOW.. I noticed some major changes in my legs from the exercises I had been doing before etc, so I'm ready to keep the changes moving forward. I still have a long way to go, but I'm liking what I'm seeing!

3 weeks and then exam week is left of school, so I'm excited to have a short break when it's over before the next classes start.!!

Thanks everyone for stopping by while I have been out. .. =)

Sorry, I'm just doing a drive-by today. I'm bogged down by studying. :( I hope you have a wonderful day! Take care.

I also bought my husband and I each one Candy item each from the store for Easter.

I am surprised it's been in the house since before 4pm and I haven't touched it. Maybe later! =)
