Phoenyx's Final 10 & Journey to Fitness

Bummer!

Yeah when I showed up for the selection, we got introduced to an alleged KILLER. I was RIGHT behind him in the courthourse, kinda freaked out!

GRRRRRRR!!!! :banghead:

Good GAWD do they know how to drag their feet! I've been pretty much cooling my heels in the waiting area all day, only to get called into the courtroom at 3ish now I have to go back tomorrow.

This sucks.

Ah well, I'm gonna go down a protein shake and lift some weights... work the irritation out. I'd recruit my husband to hold the target mitts so I can punch something, but he's too engrossed in a video game with a friend of his online. Dammit. :banghead:

Just put the targets mitts on his lap and tell him that it's his choice to use them or get hit without them. :gnorsi:

Funny as the visual is, he's much more fun to be around if I'm not coercing him into participating.

My workout ended up being part martial arts moves, part belly dancing, a bit of tae bo and weight lifting. I'm spent. :svengo:

Ah well, at least I have my yoga class tomorrow night, even if I have to sit through jury selection again.

Hi. I discovered you in CG's diary. What a great story you are. Just wow. And you're a race fan ?? or just a Clint Boyer fan ?? either way, you know what a Modified race car is. You gotta be the only chick on here that does.

Shine on, Ma'am. I'm bubbling over your wl success.

Oh, I'm a racing fan! Clint Bowyer just happens to be one of my favorite drivers in the NASCAR Cup series. But for excitement, I'd have to say the Craftsman Truck Series has got it beat hands down this year. I think the deciding factor on the Championship in the Trucks is really going to come down to the last lap of the race this Friday. I'm both sad and relieved that the season comes to a close after this weekend.

Long time ago I dated a guy that raced a modified midget. Gotta love that dirt track racin! I need to start getting out to the local dirt tracks next year. Wanted to this year but never did.

I've also been cheering for Shannon Babbs. He drives for... you guessed it... Clint Bowyer Racing. Don't get to catch those races nearly as often as I'd like.

He got married last weekend :willy_nilly:

Holy shit, you are a true race fan. Dirt track racing is all I do. I been to at least 40 races this year and all the biggest named ones.

I 'follow' NASCAR somewhat. It's changed so much in the last 15 years - making their drivers all vanilla and 'gentleman quarterly-ish'. meh. I'll agree with you tho, the CTS is a bit more bare-knuckled.

'09 is going to be a challenging year for all division with the sponsors taking a major dump at seasons' end *shrugs*

Gawd, I like you.

I'm just glad to find another race fan on the site! And an Angus Young fan to boot. :hurray:

Thing I like about CTS is, even though points are important, they still race like the first lap is the last, and stay with that intensity through the entire race. That's how it should be. I'm totally looking forward to the Homestead Truck race.

Have you been to Prelude to a Dream? That's one that looks like it would be an absolute blast to attend. I gained a lot of respect for Tony Stewart because of that event.

Oh, I got to meet Clint Bowyer when I was in Kansas. 3 hours after landing in Kansas, he was at a Chevy dealership doing a meet & greet/signing. Really cool guy. So is his younger brother. Ended up chatting with him for a while.

So I got a pic with Clint too.

Hmm, weight down to 161.6, but body fat went up to 25%... I guess that's just normal fluctuation, so I'll consider it holding steady. Considering how much I ate like crap this week I'll take it.

Back to behaving... I want to get down a bit more before the Holiday insanity starts.

Is anybody else terrified of the holidays? If past years are any indication, work is going to turn into a sugar & fat trap... chocolate, cookies, etc. at every turn. Its going to be an extreme exercise in will power.

... and I just realized this is another landmark event in the weight loss journey because...

80 POUNDS GONE!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Uhm... I'm somewhere between Yes and Hell Yes. :willy_nilly:

Thanksgiving is one thing. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and all that comes with it. Then there is the pies. My mom makes at least 3 different kinds of pie. Apple, pumpkin, cherry are the usual but sometimes she'll make a mixed berry or something like that. She will usually make so many of each kind that there is somewhere around half a pie per person, counting all the grand kids. That's a lot of pie. :svengo:

Of course that wouldn't be enough. There has to be trays and bowls everywhere with chocolates and goodies and such. Oh, and before dinner even comes out of the oven, you know the time when everyone is waiting and starved, that's when she sets out the chips and bread bowl filled with dip, and about 5 different kinds of cheese. Oh, that turkey could be two pounds and still be too much. :piggy:

I haven't mentioned the worst part. the worst is that we are going to my in laws first for a "normal" Thanksgiving dinner, then we are driving from there to my mom's. Yup, two Thanksgiving dinners.

Yeah, I'm worried about the holidays.

I'm only afraid of the Christmas supper we have, turkey potatoes and all the other good stuff - I'm pretty good about staying away from candies and chocolate.

Congrats on the 80lbs milestone! If I'm reading your thread right, you started with the doctor in January 08?

Thanks!

My first appointment was Jan 31 and I started the program on February 1.

I'm not going to deny myself a few goodies, just gonna keep it under as much control as I can.

And work out like a madwoman on Friday.:willy_nilly:

Yes I did go to the Prelude to the Dream not to mention The Dream, as well. Studly Clint stole a famous dirt late model driver's gf of 5 years, this year. It was kinda the shot heard around our world. The driver was let go of his Childress Nationwide development ride. (Supposedly to make way for Childress' grand-son, Austin Dillon but insiders report it was a pretty toxic environment for all concerned - as these things can be, usually). He moped around for awhile and later came to his senses and stomped his loud pedal like a maniac to win some very big paydays on dirt.

Cool for you shouldering up to Clint. I like Clint for upbringing on dirt. Swear to Gawd, girl. You have to add Eldora to your ;must do because life's too short' list. You'll be in heaven, especially if ya like to partake in beverage-related festivities *beams w/a melting halo*

Reading ahead, congrats on the eight-ooooohmg number. That's strong, woman. Hold it up high !!

Sprints are fun to watch too! I am going to make it a point to get out to more races next season since its wound down for 2008.

Just got through watching the season finale of the Craftsman Truck race... Wow!!! That was a good run.

Aww, man... I didn't know about that! Now I had to go and look it up online. Geez. Poor Tim. Though it was fun to watch him win recently. Ah well, things like that happen to us ordinary mortals often enough... I'm sure the high profile drivers aren't immune.

Eldora's definitely on the Bucket List. :biggrinjester:
