Petals diary

I hope your dog gets better fast, Petal. How old is he/she? I do miss my little pooch, but don't miss the angst when she was sick xo

Thanks LaMa and Cate . She is approaching 5 . Thankfully on the mend now . Yesterday was awful . They are helpless when sick. She had a really bad UTI , also had before Xmas ! I read a warm bath helps so did that yesterday eve and it must have relaxed her muscles as after 24 hours she finally went to the toilet. She slept then and seems ok since . She is on antibiotics also .

I haven’t really been focusing on my diet but also haven’t gone off plan so that’s ok . If anything I have eaten less last couple of days since she got sick on Monday .

Hey Petal, I was thinking about your signature line
Success isn't overnight. It's when everyday you get a little better than the day before. It all adds up.
It really does make a lot of sense, and for people here it's particularly relevant. Kind of the flip side of my one day at a time thing, but better said.

The vet is still not happy as she is showing signs of infection and she regressed a little yesterday. She is on new antibio now so fingers crossed they will work. Vet said don't worry but it's so hard not too.
I am tired and last night I struggled not to overeat.weird how you can change day on day. Managing to keep focused though .

Rob I used to get daily motivational sayings on my phone and I borrowed it from there .

I'm sorry to hear of a bit of a drop back in health for the little dog. (Little? big? I don't know - I just said "little" because I'm sorry she's ill.) I hope the new antibiotic can get it sorted out, whatever the problem is.
And sorry that for one reason or another you've been finding things a bit of a struggle this last 24 hours. Hugs, and sending you so many good vibes - I hope you can find a way to do something really nice for yourself with the rest of the day - a walk in sunshine (if there is sunshine) or a long, hot shower, or watching some cheerful, non-angsty television? Hugs again!

I can understand that when you are worried, you want to eat more to try to comfort yourself. I hope the new antibiotics work. Take it easy.

Thanks Lama , Amy , Cate , Rob and Em . Things seem improved but have to get the tests run again tomorrow so time will tell but humours all improved a little .
Got eyes tested today , no major change there which is first time in years . Optician thinks my weight loss helping , better diet and lots more breaks from screen time etc might help a bit .
Tomorrow I’m getting back on plan properly but more to be more focused . I do want to drop the final 10 to 12 lbs but not quickly as I really need to focus more on some toning exercises . Time at the moment is not my friend . But that will change for summer so patience is needed for now to be as healthy as possible .
My habit change desk diary quote yesterday was this

“ for 30 days let go of the things you can’t control . Make small commitments and keep them . Be a light , not a judge . Be aware of the change in your circle of influence.

Ha! (exclamation of surprise) I've never heard that before, about weight loss being positive for eye function. So many complexities in how our bodies work, hey? Anyway, good to hear - very encouraging. Thank you! ("More breaks from screen time" also noted. Yes, I should learn from that, too.)
I like your desk calendar quote, though the wording's a bit confusing in places - does
Be aware of the change in your circle of influence.
mean a change in where/how your influence falls, or a change in those on whom it falls?
Either way, you are definitely "a light, not a judge" around here! :)
