today is Little Christmas here . It’s when the men are supposed to cook and serve a meL to the women after all their hard work over Christmas. It was never a thing in my home growing up and certainly isn’t now . Just a tidbit of information lol .
I´d never heard about that before!
It made me think a bit about Robs Mormon friends as surely stuff they collect goes out of date . However I know most tinned stuff will probably be good for many many years after it’s best before .
When I buy canned food it goes into the back of the cupboard and when I use something canned I take it from the front. That way I´m not throwing away too much stuff.
 
I loved reading about your fantastic feeling on your night out - and your new-old never-worn now-fitting blouse! Bet you looked terrific! :hurray: You're on a roll!
 
Hey Petal, to your declutter challenge, not sure this counts but I decided our utility closet needed something, so I moved the clutter out and have started building some shelves and hangers to organize the clutter. Did get rid of a few things.
I don’t think the chef was looking at me
Don't be so sure, I bet the new Petal is getting looked at more than she knows.
 
Oh hi everyone . My new year is turning into a hectic one . Weight loss - same as week before Xmas so no loss or gain . Good ! Back to the grindstone now .
Am pretty busy with family stuff ( exams etc ) and the days are flying by . Cate I will remind you xo
Lama I like your can to the back idea I will implement . Rob that does count for sure . I just did my tea and coffee shelf yesterday . Just to do something but time again is constrained me .

De-cluttering makes you feel good unless you de-clutter like I did & burn some important documents. Either that or I have "filed" them away somewhere & I have no idea where. :svengo:

For you that's not bad at all. I know you will lose those last few pounds on your slow and steady guide to maintenance.

My decluttering project, the utility room shelves has grown. I got everything out and sorted a bit, but when I started on the shelves decided to do some rewiring and add a light, got that done today, tomorrow its back to the shelves. Unless my electrical work burns the house down.

Do you feel better with each day of decluttering? I can imagine it’s very soothing.

very Emily but it’s hard to do a lot so I am picking away at it . I have actually decluttered my phone a little bit . I deleted some apps , Instagram was one . I turned off my notifications on Whatsapp and only check it once or twice now . I am unsubscribing to all the nonsense emails that hit my inbox as they arrive .
Cate honestly I am starting to feel the pressure running and racing a bit . I need to keep a check on myself . I feel already I am getting tired . Have a mini hol planned for 2 nights with a friend though in 5 weeks so that be nice .

I am starting to get negative comments ( dressed as positive ) like oh you don’t need to lose more you look lovely blah blah . I actually am astounded at people’s idea that they can comment really lol .
however I know I am still overweight and I know myself how easy it is to put it back on .
I love my plan and I enjoy following it . It’s all fresh healthy food I enjoy and an odd nice sweet thing thrown in . However I don’t need to lose it overnight but yes I am going for the next 11lb slowly and hopefully with some walking thrown in .

With people like that you have my express permission (in case you should feel guilty about it) to lie your ass off. Tell them you´re maintaining. If they ask you why you´re not having the creamyboozychocolatebonanza for dessert tell them you just don´t want to regain. If they accuse you of having lost YET MORE WEIGHT (and it does feel like an accusation sometimes) deny it like you peace of mind depends on it. You´re losing weight slowly so they can´t possibly be sure about it anyway. Reasonable people with reasonable expectations get reasonable answers, unreasonable people don´t have a right to information about your life and body.
 
Just ignore the comments - people are full of shit. You know yourself what is best for your body.
I agree with part of what Emily says, but I am sure you do look lovely right now, and you will when you lose 11 more pounds, just as lovely maybe more so. You know your body better than anyone, if losing 11 more pounds will make you either healthier or happier do it! Anyone who advises you otherwise probably is as Emily says "full of shit", and perhaps jealous.

People used to tell me I had lost enough, when I was still technically obese. Saying you are maintaining is a good idea. Technically it's not a lie if you think of it as maintaining a slow & steady weight-loss :)
 
I think they just see us as radically thinner maybe it’s a shock to the system .
I was listening to an audio book today when out driving . Not a weight loss book but the author said his friend lost 100lb . How did she do it ? She would ask herself “ what would a healthy person do ?” And she changed her life like that . Walked instead of a cab , a salad instead of a burger . Also it’s not about the goal but the systems we put in place to get there . I like to think in the 8 months I am working on the systems that will remain in place when I do get to goal .
 
I think that question is a good one- "What would a slim, healthy person eat/do?"
