I'm loving the sound of the smell (eh?) of your bolognese - ahhh...
garlic! what an evocative aroma that is.

And I love a bit of carrot in dishes like that - had chunks of carrot in the chilli beans I made last week...
And really, really good that your gums are better. Phew!
I'm agreeing vehemently with LaMa (and you, I expect!) that "carrot cake" and "sin" have nothing to do with each other - nor does food generally. We have a complex relationship with it - it's fuel, but it isn't
just fuel by a long chalk. It's also a delight and a pleasure, and giving, sharing and experiencing delight and pleasure is definitely a good - a kindness, to oneself and others. (But obviously not if it's going to make a problem for the recipient, by upsetting their systems, digestive or emotional or whatever.)
Which all adds up to -
great that you're going to enjoy the coffee and carrot cake, sometime or other!
(As Rob says - no need to reply to this, busy woman!
