Petals diary

I did a lovely walk . I stuck on a wash before I left which was a 40 min wash and it was done when I got back . I think I did about 45 mins .
Good for you, walking is good, good exercise.

When I was younger I used to do a lot of walking and hiking. Have you read "The Complete Walker"? It was one of my favorites, I see a new version is still in print https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Wal...rds=the+complete+walker&qid=1570887912&sr=8-1 It is a lot about backpacking, but at heart its a book about the joys of walking.

I really like the idea of walking with an audio book, and happy you are getting out walking again!

Well done Petal on the walk. Sometimes it is so hard to get out but it is almost always well worth it.

Cheers for the walkers! :hurray:
It's my favourite form of exercise, actually - though not my most regular one. Most regularly I do exercises of different sorts in a group (and some at home, solo) but walking has that great benefit of taking us places! Especially good if it can take us to green and beautiful places, of course, but almost anywhere can be interesting.

Rob I never heard of that book but I did look it up. Interesting .
Marsia that was day 1 done so aiming for day 2 now. Cate that's my biggest challenge getting out the door. I always love it when I do. Amy its mine too. I just want to get into the happy habit zone of it again.

Food was ok yesterday. Perhsps a few too many peanuts and definitely not enough water. Note to myself to drink more water today. The grapes are all gone now so I won't buy any for a few days. We have lots of apples and oranges .

Hope your get your daughter's problem figured out. LaMa should be an expert on the subject. My skin always feels dry and a bit itchy when the heating season begins.

The Slimming World post was a strange thing, I wasn't sure it even got posted. When I tried I got a message to the effect that my post was under review, and it did not show up on your thread, I tried twice and got the same message. I don't know when it did appear. I suppose it was under suspicion of being spam. Your Slimming World tread is of course not spam, but I can see why it might have looked a little like it. And given all the spam that's been appearing I can understand the forum's concerns. Anyway, thanks for responding, keep us informed about how you do with Slimming World, it seems like a good program.

Lama can you stew some apples ?

Tired this eve . Busy day . I cooked a chicken and beef so it’s all in the fridge now chopped melons

Hi, Petal. I don't think it matters about breaking up your exercise into smaller increments.
Have you checked your preferences to see if the email notification preference for threads you have started is ticked? I saw it when Rob posted it but seem to remember that it was "quarantined" temporarily for some reason as possible spam even though it didn't have a link in it. It's rare that happens.

Everything that gets posted in that section is sent for moderation to stop people posting to sell their products based on each diet listed there, and to minimise wrong info about each diet. It is more of a fact based section than a general opinion and debate.

Hi Petal, sorry your Slimming World thread had so many problems. Maybe they have an active Facebook page or something? I joined a low carb group on FB, but there are so many posts that I just look through them randomly. There's not the sense of community like there is here.

I used to break up exercise into smaller increments and it seemed to do the same amount of good, and it made it so that I got stronger and more able to do longer times a lot quicker.

Tru, thank you for keeping the forum so nice for us all!

Yes thanks to Tru and Cate.
Yes Marsia they have a FB page but it's too busy really. I follow a couple on instagram but I'm just happy enough with the diary here really. I honestly don't have time to sink into more online stuff. I have cut back on everything as I get overwhelmed trying to keep up with all. An hour on here feels like 10 mins .

Monday here again , tough week ahead. Head down required .

I hope your "head down" week goes quickly. I know what you mean about an hour on the forum flying by. Wish time stayed nice and slow like it was when we were children!

Best of luck with your busy week :grouphug:

thanks Lama , I’m going to take Friday off though to do some personal errands . Have a bit of a cold . Taking paracetamol to try nip in bud .

Marsia time is flying past .
I walked for 20 mins in the rain today . I wasn’t feeling too good so thought that will do me for today .
Eating well enough too . Have some salad and oven chips and salmon for dinner .

Hi Petal, hope the cold clears up fast. And glad you didn't push yourself. Salmon for dinner sounds delicious!

Thanks Marsia , feel a bit fragile now so off to bed .
