Petals diary

Going to wrap up soon and do that walk
Good that you can still get out and walk. Our options for entertainment outside the house are getting pretty limited.

I drove by a big movie theater this afternoon, they had a long line of cars buying take out popcorn and other junk food and drink. Apparently the concession stand was selling it as take out, the theater itself is closed. Strange times.

I woke up at 5 am and decided to go for a walk, then go back to bed :D
I like your style Lama . And a 90 mim walk later.
I did a super long walk yesterday and I'm just coming too a bit here now and might go early today .
Jack and Cate yes I couldn't face months of this but it could be hard to avoid. He is very into politics and current affairs.the day turned out fine after anyway.
All his work is now on pause for a month at minimum so he is going to train himself on some new software and take a breather. I hope he follows through . Not going to start worrying about money as I earn enough to feed us very well and keep home heated. Although I heard yesterday that some staff have been laid off at work which is upsetting already .

All our lovely walks we do are jam packed now. People have nothing else to do except get outdoors and the places we normally go that are empty or just have like minded people are full of groups of people treating this all like a holiday. There were traffic jams yesterday in co Wicklow. I am lucky as quiet areas where I live but seems our hiking days maybe over now unless we go super early which we might do now !

Rob sad about people queueing to buy popcorn and junk food .

And happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely ladies here whether you are a mum or not. It’s Mother’s Day here in Ireland

Primrose! Such a lovely messenger of spring. I´m glad you don´t have to worry about the financial aspect of this whole thing. It must be so stressful for so many people.

Yes it is and we are lucky In that respect for now .
had a glorious walk this morning . Did about 90 mins . My mood is good and I’m steaming all my floors just now and my sitting room is shining .

I am thinking of starting an extra shop for people who might struggle right now . Some cereal tea coffee etc . Need to find out how to get it to a distribution centre or something though .

What a gorgeous picture  I´m green with envy here  Finding an established organization to support is very likely more helpful than individually buying things and figuring out who to give them to. It may not feel as satisfying but is more efficient. Do you have a local food bank?

Hey Petal! Thinking of you at this time, everything is so uncertain. Ahhhh

That walk is beautiful! What scenic views!! I love our country Ireland. I got our during the weekend for walks also! All though not as stunning as this x

Hey Petal, you are doing some very impressive walks, and posting some great pictures. The pictures make the walks seem more real. Ireland must be a beautiful place! Now that I am walking I can better appreciate your walks, you are a good walker. I know you have been doing it all along.

The donations are a good idea, a lot of people can't get out to do shopping right now. You might consider donating to a church. I know most of the churches in our area have programs you can donate to, and most also do not discriminate, they help people of all denominations not just their own members. Its one of the good things that has happened here. I say this as someone who does not belong to or go to any church, but good is good.

LaMa and Kate That was a picture from a recent walk unfortunately I can't get to it right now but I'm so happy it cheered everyone up. Sadly people are abusing the local amenities now I figure they sadly will be closed .
I had a lovely day yesterday really enjoyed it. But I did eat loads of ice cream which was for our Mother's Day dinner. Did I enjoy it ? Totally did !
Watched a chick flick movie , no one disturbed me and was just happy out .

Cate and Rob I'm researching where I can donate too. There are a couple of charities so I will check them out .

I totally enjoyed Ems song the other day and played again this morning . Here is one of my favourites to belt along too and the video is nice too

I like all Kinds of music Rob. I love music from the 70s and 80s . I like classical , love Andre Rieu . Also like a lot of current stuff which I listen to with daughter . I love musicals .
I am not keen on opera and i am
Not a fan of real Irish ceili music but love Irish groups like the Dubliners .
some fav groups that come to mind , bee gees, fleetwood mac , dr hook, Diana Ross , Phil Collins .
was very sad when I heard kenny Rogers died . I enjoyed his music .

Thanks for posting that video, great tune. I love musicals as well, what is your favourite one?

It doesn't look like my parents will get to see Andre Rieu after all, which is very disappointing.

I love a very wide range of music too, but definitely not opera. Have you been getting in any more walks, Petal? Is your husband behaving himself & not annoying you? :)

I´m a generalist in music as well. There´s just so much good stuff out there!
There is loads Lama and now is a good time to listen .

Cate I am walking every day . Did 4km this morning . Might get out again later I will see .
Working from home so just taking a few mins break. I am actually getting lots of work done . Days are busy though as doing some home schooling too .

unfortunately I saw a gain on the scales today of 1.5 lb . But I think it’s temporary after Mother’s Day indulging and just settling into my new regime . I don’t think I am eating unhealthily. Also I have increased exercise so that can throw it off a bit .
