Tomorrow is the 3rd weigh in!!

Workouts

So today I took exercise more seriously than I have all week. We went to the gym quite late today. We didn't leave the house until about 5:30 and got to the gym by 6pm. Once there mom had told me that we couldn't do any weight machines today since we did yesterday. This is supposed to help our muscles repair themselves. So I figured I'd focus on cardio today.
I started out on the treadmill. Once I got to about .25 mile I had to go to the bathroom. I was going to stop but there are like 3 different types of treadmills and the one I was on was my favorite. There are 3 of the kind that I like and the other two were taken. I thought if I'd gone to the bathroom someone would've taken the one I was on so I kept on going. Two and half miles and 43 minutes later I finally went to the bathroom. Once in there I took a minute to dry myself off and was completely embarrassed!:blush5: I was so sweaty that my butt was all wet from the rounds of my cheeks sweating. I think what got me so sweaty was that I was doing random sprints. I would walk at 3.5 MPH and then boost up to 5-6 MPH for 30-60 seconds.
After coming back out to the fitness area I wanted to get on the stationary bicycle. I did that for 20 minutes and got 3.25 miles in.
Since it was 8pm before we left the Y, we decided to go to Subway for dinner. I got a Oven Roasted Chicken Breast footlong and only ate half of it... so I could have the other half for lunch tomorrow.
Mom had said that she wanted to do Turbo Jam when we got home but we just got done and it's now about 10:30pm. It was only the 20 minute workout but I was burning up at the end. :flame: I remember last February 2008 when I started doing TJ and how confused I was with all the moves. Well, I was glad to be able to help mom out tonight cause she was as lost as I was when I started. To help her out, I paused the DVD and did the moves for her in slow-motion so that she would be able to get it better. We got through it and now I feel completely rejuvenated. I can't wait for tomorrow's weigh in, even though I really doubt that my results will even come close to last weeks.
Anyways, I need to drink a bit more water and then hit the sack. I gotta be up early tomorrow to be ready for the weigh in. I'm not sure how early it'll be up considering Mandi decided that she was going to stay with her boyfriend tonight and she wants us to wait for her to edit her into the video. I know for sure that we'll still be weighing in at 9:30 eastern, but I don't know if we're going to wait for her or do a second weigh in just for her...I guess I'll have to check with mom in the morning.
Look out for the weigh in tomorrow sometime!

Night,

Weigh in...

So the weigh in is done-with the exception of Mandi who is still not home. The video is edited and is currently rendering. Once that is done it will be uploaded to youtube so everone can see. I think what we are planning on doing is putting a little note in the about video section for Mandi’s weigh in once she gets home. That way it doesn’t look like she lost more than she did come next weigh in. I’m happy with my results but I know I could’ve done better. Next week should be great though cause I’m meeting with a personal trainer early next week before weigh in to establish a permanent routine at the gym.

I need to go get ready for going to the Y here in about an hour. In the meantime I have to get myself, Dizzle, and my kids fed lunch. Just in case anyone wants to check out how I’ve been doing, here is my fitday.com stats.

Today makes me happy. I weighed myself and am down 2lbs from yesterday. Yay!
Like I said in my other post, I KNOW that all the critiquing is well meant, it just gets to be a bit much sometimes. Keep in mind, it's not just coming from this forum either. Also it seems like it's 85% critiquing and 15% motivation.

No offensive meant, but keep in mind that around here you get back only what you give. I noticed in all your posts you have never offered support to anyone else, so I'm not sure why you're expecting a bunch of cheerleaders in here if you're unwilling to do the same for the other members. And sorry if we sounded repetitive, but you'll never catch anyone around here giving you the high five on eating 800 calories in a day. Best to you :).

Wow, that's funny. I could have swore that I have commented on other stuff such as theyaremine's thread. No offense meant but it sure sounded rude.
It's like saying "No offense meant, but you suck".
Also, I love how you ignored my post and Lynn's about how we are eating more calories based on what you guys here have said.... but nah, you're stuck on the 800 calories per day thing apparently.

Week 3 Weigh-In

This last week in everyone's confessional all the competitors were nervous about today's weigh-in, was there a reason for the fear? Who is the biggest loser of the week?

Quick Update

So, I'm on my way to bed and thought I'd put a quick update up. I haven't been updating or commenting on other pages much because I've been really busy with working out and other "life". I'm trying to stay out of the front of the computer as much as I can because that means that I'm sitting, not being active like I should be. For those that don't like that I don't comment on as many other people's pages as they do, sorry that I'm not wasting my time in front of the computer and that I'm doing what I set out to do in the first place, losing weight. Isn't that what it's all about people?
Anyways, I had a great workout today. We did bootcamp for the first time at the Y today and it was rough. After that I did 24 minutes on the treadmill at a 2 incline averaging about 3.2 MPH and did another 32 minutes on the bicycle with an average 20 MPH and rolling hills. I'm proud of myself that I accomplished so much today.
After our workout we went to the store for groceries and got lots of fruits and healthy foods. I also had to buy new workout pants. I have like 3 pairs of workout pants but if I try to run on the treadmill, even for only 30 seconds, my pants are falling down to my thighs. So I'm actually down from 2XL to just XL. That makes me super happy and I feel quite accomplished at the fact I've dropped a size. This time I got pants that have a drawstring too so that as I lose more weight, they'll still fit me for a minute...
K, gotta get to bed cause when I pick Mandi up from work at 7am, I'm dropping her off here at home and mom and I are going to the gym for an hour or so before weigh in. :leaving:

I’m up! But I’m super uber tired. I had to go get Mandi from work at 7am and fell back asleep for just a few minutes since then. But I think I’m going to start being active so that I don’t go back to sleep till tonight.

Yesterday I worked my tush off. Hopefully that’s more literal than just saying it lol. Saturday’s and Sunday’s are supposed to be our “easy” days but I think I kicked it up a few notches yesterday. Instead of doing only 20 minutes on the machines, I did 30 minutes on a incline for the treadmill and 45 minutes on a harder resistance level than I normally use on the bicycle. Then we worked our tummys and then did some HORSE with basketball. Just to tell ya, I suck at b-ball. Dizzle definately won with that. We came home and I did the 20 minute workout with Turbo Jam. After I ate dinner I did a custom workout mom made with Wii Active. And then I still was feeling quite energetic so I did my daily workout on Wii Cardio Workout. Whew, I think I did good though.

As far as food for the day, I didn’t eat enough calories. Mom and I met with the fitness coordinator at the Y and she said that with our workouts and fitness levels(since she sees us in there ALL the time), we need to eat even more than what the doctor told mom. She said about 1600 would be better. I trust her alot because she lost about 130 lbs in only 17 months. If she can lose the amount of weight that I need to lose, she obviously did something right so I’m going to do as she says.

I’ve also started going to the boot camp classes. I’ve done one regular and one cardio so far. There are a total of 6 classes throughout the week that we have scheduled ourselves to attend. 2 classes each day for 3 days out of the week.

Well, I haven’t had breakfast yet so I’m gonna go figure out what I’m gonna eat.

No, I am the one that sucks at bball... who lost first.. ME. lol
Just so everyone knows.... Lynn pushed me hard yesterday. I injured my foot running on Friday and I pushed myself on the treadmill like she did (cause she called me a wuss lol), and today my foot hurts more.. I'm afraid to do too much with my foot because I don't want it so bad that I can't get on the treadmill at all ya know. Funny though, I injured it because I wore expensive running shoes instead of my Walmart cheapies lol. Go figure.

Keep in mind that my dr is her dr too. She actually said to try what the dr said first, but if we see the loss stalling to do what she said. I'm actually having a hard time even reaching 1200 calories like the dr said though.. I feel like I'm completely overeating just to get 1200, I have no clue how I would reach 1500-1600!! The foods I eat are all healthy stuff so it's really hard to get that many calories in.. as it is I'm eating 5-6 times a day! Which reminds me.. it's time to eat again.. ~sigh~ I never thought I would be struggling to eat enough or sighing over eating LOL

I’ve also started going to the boot camp classes. I’ve done one regular and one cardio so far. There are a total of 6 classes throughout the week that we have scheduled ourselves to attend. 2 classes each day for 3 days out of the week.

Boot camp.. yea. The last boot camp I went to on Wed I struggled not to throw up during the entire thing, then I lost it in the parking lot. I've determined I will not be eating before going to boot camp.. although with me having to eat a thousand times a day I don't know how I'm going to be able to not eat beforehand.
Some things I've noticed since starting this competition and losing weight-
My blood sugar has nearly normalized

My blood pressure has went down

My heart rate is a lot lower than it used to be

My sleeping patterns are great now. I used to only get like 6 hours a night.. now I get 8-9 with no problems

My hips used to hurt really bad in the mornings after waking, that doesn't happen anymore

My feet don't hurt anymore (except where I injured my left one on the treadmill last week)

I rarely 'crave' things anymore

I'm always full and have only been hungry one time since starting

Ok, I have to get ready to go to the gym now. See you all later :)

hey guys, glad to read your doing well, i was wondering if you ever get round to reading the nutrition section of the forum? alot of people post questions on there and some of the responses are really useful. i guess the reason i'm asking is because from the responses you'll find out that the more you can eat especially if your working out as much as you guys do then the better it will be for your body. i think that's what most people have been trying to say and i guess if i put myself in your shoes it would be easier to believe someone who you can see in the flesh (like the lady you met) than people on the forum. but on the other hand everyone here is just trying to help so we really have no ill intentions whatsoever.

i think at the end of the day reading up on nutrition will be very beneficial for all of you in the long run (eg the stickies nutritional info etc) since it will arm you with all the info you need to be on the weight loss journey till you reach your goals. wishing you all the best xoxo

Weigh in #5 is up on youtube. I'm really happy with my results but wish it was easier to to accomplish my short term goal which is to be 250 or less by 6/25/09. At this point, I still have 13 lbs to lose and only 2 weeks to do it in. Any who, we tried a new class at the Y tonight. It was cardio boxing. It was a lot of fun, but we worked out for about an hour an a half before that, so when we only had about 15 minutes left I got paged to pick up my kiddos. Apparently, there is a 2 hour limit of how long you can keep them in the child watch. I didn't know this otherwise I would've came a little later so I would've been able to finish the boxing class.
I didn't do too well with my diet today. We had turkey tacos for dinner and I had 4 of them! But they were so yummy. :drool5: I had 2,166 calories today. But tomorrow is a new day and if I want to hit my short goal, I'm behaving from here on out.

Wow you girls did awesome at your weigh-in! Annette you have some very beautiful daughters :). Wassup with D though, eating all that junk and not working out?! lol Is Dizzle your son/brother? Well y'all seem to have a nice fun relationship and that is such a blessing :).

So Lynn dont feel too bad about the 2100 calories. That's actually some people's weight loss strategy, called in nicer terms a "refeed" (sounds better than a binge hehe). But when you diet your leptin levels decrease. Leptin is a powerful hormone that controls our appetite and the speed of our metabolism. So when you diet your metabolism slows down and your appetite will often increase. So when you eat a bit more in a day you increase the leptin levels again so hopefully your metabolism speeds up and appetite decreases.

Can't wait to see how y'all look in December!

Thanks Blancita! Dizzle is actually my husband of 7 1/2 years. When we first got together at 17 years old I was only 135 lbs and he was only like 200 or so lbs. I'm not going to blame my weight gain on my pregnancies or anything like that but I think it was that I was happy and eating in front of people didn't bother me anymore. That was why I was so small when we first started dating is that I was embarrassed to eat in front of people.
Today I did better with my calories with only 1700 today. I had two packets of strawberry oatmeal this morning, had Wendy's for lunch-large chili and 5 pc nuggets(actually only 510 calories together), a banana for a snack, and 3 leftover turkey tacos for dinner. I think it's getting easier to eat more calories with fitting in a little more in the morning to fuel my workouts and with having snacks.
We have been trying something new with our workouts. After I pick Mandi up from work in the mornings, we've been trying to get to the gym pretty early. We're hoping this will boost our metabolism at the beginning of the day instead of sitting around all day and going around dinner time like we had been. We only had about 45 minutes this morning to work out due to child watch hours being short on Friday's, but we did 17 minutes on the stationary bicycle and 22 minutes on the treadmill. I was really happy with myself today cause I cut another 43 seconds off my mile time. I used to take longer than 20 minutes to complete a mile and today I did it 15 minutes 35 seconds. Yesterday I was at 16:18. I was intending on going to the cardio bootcamp tonight but I got there like 5 minutes late(thinking I was 10 minutes early lol), so I did some more treadmill and bicycle.
Anywho, I'm about to go do some Turbo Jam now with Dizzle. I'm trying to get him motivated any way I can.:boxing:

Hey everyone! I just posted a new confessional about my ankle injury and how I've been feeling because of it. If you'd like to watch it, you can find it by going to My ankle is feeling much better now and I even tried working out yesterday. It was still a bit sore but I'm thinking that today I should be okay to go full force again. I weighed myself this morning since all the swelling is gone finally and I'm .2 lbs heavier than I was last Thursday on weigh in. I'm gonna work out good today and then in the morning before weigh in. Also, mom got paid today and is gonna buy me some girly pink boxing gloves just like what she has. I'm jazzed about that cause now I'll be able to use my own gloves during boxing class on Tuesdays and Thursdays!:boxing:
Well, we're off to the bank, to see our new potential property, and to get my boxing gloves! Then after we get back home, it's off to the Y for us.

Lynn

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on here for a minute. It's been kinda crazy lately.I hurt my ankle again because I wasn't easy on it when I got back to working out. The good news is that it's better now. I kinda took it easy on Monday and just took the kids to the Y pool. We were in there for about 1 hr 20 minutes and by the time we got back out to my car, someone had busted out my front drivers side window and took my purse. Keep in mind I stay home with my kids and don't have any money so they got all of the stuff that could take my identity. It really sucks. It's going to cost $100 to get a new window installed from a junk yard and then the money to get a new id and purse. BLAH! I hate it when this crap happens to me. Since I started driving I've had my cars broken into at least 7 times. It just sucks when you have an unexpected expense like that that wasn't your fault.
Anywho, I've been doing ok as far as eating with the exception that my sweet tooth is coming back with a vengeance. I got some of my favorite ice cream the other day, Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia! I didn't get the little one that I should've, the one with like 150 calories, no I got the big one. And the I got it home and proceeded to eat the whole darn thing. It was like 980 calories that I ate right before bed.:toetap05:
Yesterday I tried working out again to see if my ankle could handle it. I got to the Y around 6:45 with my daughter and had her in child watch, but they close child watch at 8 so I didn't have much time. I took a few minutes to stretch and then chose 60 minutes on the treadmill. The majority of the time I stayed between a 5 and 6 incline and between 3 and 3.5 MPH. I didn't want to try running again yet because that's how I re injured myself. When I got to 58 minutes they paged me to get my daughter for a potty break so I just took her home since I only would've had 15 minutes left anyway. Since I really wasn't ready to be done working out yet, I came home and did Turbo Jam. It was really nice inside the house cause mom had the AC on but by the time I got done with TJ, I was so sweaty that I felt like I'd been sprayed with a garden hose. :ack2:
Well, I need to get my kids and myself some food and then workout here at home. I still have to wash my other workout clothes and since they're the only ones I'll wear to the gym(they're the only ones with a drawstring and my others start falling off), I won't be able to get to the gym until they're clean. I'll probably just wait until 5ish since that's when child watch is open again.
Later, :seeya:

Lynn
