One More Time...

wasnt perfect yesterday, but i wasnt horrible, so I'll take it. :)

Anyway, I'm about to head over to my brother's place and go for a 2.7 (God!) mile loop run/walk... pray for me ... lol :D

Hi Xorie!

Just found this thread of yours ... sounds as if you and me are in a really similar boat - you know how I said in my thread I was headed to Florida next year ... that's for a wedding, too!! It's all about the dress right?! Gotta have a nice dress!!

I am also totally with you on the whole embarrassed-to-be-seen-doing-exercise thing! Unfortunately I dont have a remote barn to run around haha. I even get embarrassed in front of my brother! That'll have to change though, we have an exercise bike at home and I need to make the most of it!

Sounds like you're doing great though! Your little tickerfactory thing says you have already lost 6lbs, so that's great! As I'm used to weighing myself in stones, 6lbs is pretty significant for me cuz it's only 1lb from half a stone, and I always think once that first half a stone is off, the enthusiasm and motivation will completely kick in! So, seriously well done!! I can't wait until my first 6lbs are off!

Really good going :)

See, this is why I LOVE this website. My father is very logical and just tells me "Just do 'X Y and Z". its not that hard... He doesnt really understand so having this website is amazing, and I cant kick myself hard enough for stopping. :) We'll have a party when you get to your half a stone.

haha... nice, that's totally doable! And fun? (jk). Good luck!

I thought I was going to die... lol And it doesnt help that my brother is 6'2", and I'm 5'5" and his fast walk was as quick as my jog.... But it was mostly enjoyalble. :)

So the run was hard.. lots of hills and I'm out of shape. However, my gps said we did 2.8 miles, (4.4 km) holy god I thought I was going to die.:ack2: And I thought my brother and I would be running on less traveled roads, but no... down the freaking main part of the speedway... *dies* But i realized that while I was concentrating on breathing and not dieing, it really wasnt that bad. I was glad though that all I had had for breakfast was half and apple, because I would have been puking it up on the way up the long hill...

Then, afterwards, my brother and I took my mother out for lunch, and I wasn't going to go because I knew that I would be putting myself in danger of over indulging myself, BUT when we got to Burgermaster all I had was a turkey sandwich, with lettuce and tomatoe and a slice of cheese. No fries (even though they make AWESOME fries) or soda, just a glass of water. And while being good, I made my mom more aware of what she was eating, and she barely touched her fries. Go us!

Anyway, am going to be good for the rest of the day... Still have to go to work and clean a rather large amount of stalls... I'm going to cry when I have to push the wheelbarrow up the hill though... lol

It's really cool that youre mom is on the same page as you! It's awesome that you got her to stay on track! definitely a good way to keep each other moving in the right direction!

damn, cleaning stalls in a barn? that's definitely some calorie burning activity AND a muscle builder! hhahaha! have a great rest of the day!

My goodness, the stalls today nearly killed me. I had to do them in double time, and with 8 extra ones, and then the wheelbarrow has to be pushed up a big ass hill... *dies* I almost cried. lol. BUT its good for me. :)

Anyway, well today was a pretty good day for me. :)Banana for breakfast and I even stopped at an Arbys, where I bought some friends lunch. I only had however, a junior roast beef sandwich, without the top bun. :) No fries, no drinks, nothing. It was liberating to see that I'm not a slave to the fast food joints anymore. :):hurray: Then for dinner, my mom made strogenoff.. :drool5: and a fruit salad. I made sure to eat the fruit first, and then, I used one of my own bowls that I made (cause its small) rather than a plate for the meal. I kept it down to very little strogenoff intake, and was very proud of myself. All in all, its been and AWESOME day. :)

Going running again tomorrow with my bro. He's finally ended the crap his ex was putting on him, and is *crosses fingers* hopefully on the mend from his heartbreak.

Hey sorry I haven't checked in in a while but I'm so glad with your progress and that people are getting involved. So much nicer when you have pillars of support. You post a few days ago just hit a nerve - I just realized that EVERYTIME I go downstairs (even if its to use the loo, get a drink, get a paper, pen, laptop you name it) the FIRST thing I do is go to the fridge, open it and stare at it (not for food, just no real reason), then go to the cookie cupboard (just a big old wardrobe used for shelves tbh) and stare and then I go to the big chest freezer, open it and stare and finally mutter "now what did I come down for?" LOL I feel like I'm totally nuts right now! I don't think I would have identified that habit without you Xorie! I have my fingers crossed for you, your lovely cook of a mother (your passion for her dishes makes me dribble even) and your brother! /cheer for small bowls! Speak soon and have fun working out! :)

Hi Xorie, just read your last post. Great idea with the small bowl. Am definetly going to give that a try. Your an inspiration. Your so lucky to manual work, I'm stuck in an office all day, but I do try to get out at lunch time for my walk. Hope you have a great weekend. Talk soon Maddie

Thanks :) It helps that I am starting to recognize my habits. I guess the quote "knowing the problem is half the battle" is true... :)

I think I would go crazy if I had to work in an office all day. I love the fact that I get to work hard cleaning stalls, building fences, exercising horses, and whatever else needs to be done. and the small bowl idea is really helpful, and it really helps me keep my portions down. :)

Anyway, about to head out with the bro for a run, havent weighed in yet today, but am hoping for a smaller number. Maybe not the 249 I was hoping for, but anything less than 253 would make my day. I'll weigh in when I get home and i'll keep y'all posted. :)

*walks in doing a happy booty dance* 251!!!! :) :) :) BOOYAH!

lol. Anyway, on the run, I ran about twice as far as I did the last time, and we actually went further total distance. Then my brother and I took my mom out to lunch. We went to a friend's mexican resturant, so I ordered a chicken quesadilla from the lunch menu, and when it came, I took the nasty quacamole and the tempting ohsoyummy sour cream and mixed it all up with the rice and beans so I wouldnt eat it. :) And, I only had one of the chips that they set out before your meal comes. And I drank a whole bunch of water too. *does more dancing* yay if anything, it was a HUGE motivational booster today. :)

My legs hurt like a b**** though lol. I can barely walk up the stairs, but since I got this way by RUNNING up a hill, I'll take the pain happily as it reminds of what I did. Two days off, and then running again on Monday. :) woot!

Wow you are doing so good with the eating out!! Very impressive C: Good job on hitting 251. 240's here you come!!!

Thanks!! I cant wait to see a 240 on that scale. :)

Ohh I'm definitely watching this diary =) You're very inspiring!

Thanks!

...Oh god oh god oh god... my father brought home from work the leftover doughnuts. And I have to admit, that I went to the box and grabbed 3 of them!!!!

BUT I put one back... THEN I took a bite of one of them, became disgusted with myself as I realized I had been justifying the doughnuts because I ran a bunch this morning. Guess what I did then?

I took them back out to the dining room, opened the box, grabbed ALL the doughnuts, and THREW THEM IN THE TRASH! Take THAT temptations! :boxing:

Anyway, I'm about to head to bed, so night y'all. Stay strong!

Oh boy, i'm not working until late tonight, so I'm bored, and where do i find myself going all the time?...

to the kitchen..

*grabs hair in frustration*

god its annoying.

Other than that, I've been good so far today. A friend and I are going to walk down to the beach with our dogs. Its a good 4 mile roundtrip I think, since we are taking the back way, away from the speedway. Anyway, going to do that today, but not for a few hours, so I think that I need to play some piano, some violin, and then maybe do some other things to keep me occupied.

hope everyone has a good day!

You're journal is pretty fun! I'm tripped out that you work in barns, sorry somewhat of a culture shock for me!

That's so great that you put that doughnut down, i kinda did the same for the cheese toast at sizzlers, except i took 3 whole bites before putting it down..hehehe

good luck with all that running, it's taking you places!!

I took a bite of the doughnut, enjoyed for about half a second, and then became disgusted with myself. I'm getting better at arguing with myself and winning. lol

I honestly think that I have the best job in the world. flexible hours, solitude, working with animals, and doing what I love.

Went for a walk yesterday, was offered to join in on a run, but my head is feeeling very stuffy today, so I opted out. Am going to go tomorrow though. This next week will be a bit of a challenge for me. I'm going to be housesitting for a friend, and that means I will be completely alone, and in charge of my own diet. However, where I'm house sitting is exactly 2 miles down the road from one of the places i work, and I'm planning on walking up there everyday that I have to work. Should be good for me, and Sherrer Rd is one looooooong big ass hill. Oh I can hear my butt screaming now. lol

Anyway, have been good so far today. (to make up for a bit of a hiccup yesterday with some baked ziti for dinner, I ate tooooo much of it, and then felt bad afterwards, so I'm not going to do that again.) Breakfast was a bowl of Kix cereal with nonfat milk, and lunch was a mini bagel with turkey and one piece of cheese. Will be good at dinner today as well. :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Great progress Xorie!! I'm very awed by your doughnut story - I so would not have been able to do that!! Keep it up!!

And I know you'll be fine whilst house sitting for your friend - if you can throw the bloody doughnuts away you can DEFINITELY handle this! Haha.

Nice work!

Xorie well done on the dougnout not easy!!! I tried out your running on Saturday. I walked and then ran, walked / ran etc. the whole 3 miles. I was soooooooo knackered after it, but I must say I felt fantastic so thanks for that!!! Hope you had a great weekend, by the sounds of it you surely did. Well done Talk soon Maddie

You're doing so well :) You've definitely got food cravings more under control than me! Hopefully now is the last time in your life you'll weigh over 250, you can do it :)

Doesnt it feel awesome when you run and get in a good workout? I love the feeling. Exercise releases endorphins I think. :)

Anyway, not too good on the first two days of house sitting. Being alone I had way too much time to be bored, and I ate waay too much crap. However, I did FEEL like crap afterwards, my stomach was upset, I was mad at myself, and I generally couldnt stand it.

So, I also uncovered that Cathy has a treadmill. I used it yesterday, ran a mile, and also worked a whole bunch. Then, today, my brother and my mom are taking me out for lunch for my 21st b-day. I am promising to be good, and to use the treadmill again tonight, and then tomorrow morning. I'm gunning to get back on track, as my mom lost another 4lbs, and is in the 240s!!!!! She beat me there!!! now I have to beat her to the 230s. Oh its on now. lol. I think its great that she's losing weight so well now, and I think that everything will be great in the end. Wish us both luck!
