I weigh myself tomorrow and aim to lose 2 lbs a week and I really don't think I've worked hard enough this week. Ho hum.
That's so awesome that you're taking violin lessons. I always wanted to play the cello but it's so big and expensive, so then it was the saxophone instead but they said at the time I was too small haha. So I took up the clarinet and ten years later it's my baby :)
Good luck with the running/walking. Hopefully you enjoy it?
PS I'm a protective sister too, and lord knows both my brothers need one!

Had a bowl of frosted flakes for breakfast. I poured less then I normally do, then put the box of cereal away before it could tempt me to pour a second bowl. :) Yay. I'm going shopping today, and then probably for a walk at some point. With the puppies. :)
 
Hallo congrats on your progress and for having willpower! :) I ended up playing piano from the age of 4 because my nan played and they didn't want our baby grand to go to waste ><. All string instruments sound beautiful played right and I'm so glad you've taken up a hobby you enjoy! It's never too late to become a pro!
 
So I was hungry after eating my turkey sandwich, but I stayed strong and didnt get any more to eat. I've been doing all manner of little things trying to keep myself out of the kitchen. its been very hard. And dinner is not until about 2 hours from now... oh lordy lordy give me strength. lol. I shall be fine. going to go drink a glass of ice water to alleviate the hunger... :)
 
Hello, i just wanted to stop by and show some support! I totally understand the lifestyle of being on the go and just eating fast food..it's quite easy to just succumb to it but it certainly doesn't make you or your body feel good afterwards! kudos for passing on by!!

YeeHaw!!! I was good at dinner too!!!!!!!

Mom served me more than I really wanted, so I cut my piece of chicken in half, and gave half of my rice to my little bro (he's sixteen, 6'3" and still growing) and ate slowly. :) Yippie. I'm going to weigh myself twice next week. once monday, and once on my weigh day of Friday. 249 here i come!

didnt get out much today for a walk, weather was crappy and I had errands to run after work, however, hoping to do some walking tomorrow with my mom again. I want to get her moving as much as possible.
 
So I got on the scale this morning and... I'm down another pound! I think its more like a pound and a half because the scale couldnt decide for a while between 254 and 255. :) Now all I have to do is lose 5lbs by friday to hit my goal of 249.

What I really want to do is lose enough noticable weight when my sister goes off to college in a week and a half. She'll probably be back for Thanksgiving, and I want to have lost a significant amount of weight by then so that she will notice that I'm taking better care of myself. I want to get my mom on that bus too so that Danielle will faint from the sight of us sexy ladies when she comes home. :) lol

Going to go change (im in my jammies) and then get my mom to come on a walk with me with the doggies. I'm going to have a mini bagel with a smear of cream cheese and a glass of water for breakfast. :)

I want to stay on the wagon soooo badly this time. I'll have to post a picture of the possible bridesmaid dresses I might be wearing for the wedding in June.
 
SO I managed to get my mom out for a walk again with the dogs. This time we walked a mile together before her knees started complaining. That's really good for her. :) I came home and was hungry, so I ate my lunch which was a turkey sandwich with 2 piece of turkey and one pice of cheese. Normally I would put double the turkey and double the cheese, but I'm trying to be really aware of what I'm putting in my mouth. :)

I will try to do some more active stuff today, and to keep myself in check I will not stop anywhere for food or anything else. I do want to lose weight, and If I can keep myself honest, and willing, I can do it.
 
Sounds like you're doing great! Good job :) I've also found I pile on way too much when I make turkey sandwiches, but my food scale has helped that.

I went out and bought new running shoes today. I got the rebok running tone up ones, and spent more then i have ever spent on a pair of shoes before. Yikes... :eek: I'm hoping that since I spent my own money on the shoes I will have a bigger stake in wanting to keep using them so they dont go to waste :)

Thank god I never got to liking mayonaise... i would probably be acting like I do with my saucy downfall... ketchup... I tend to put waaaay tooo much on it. oh and cheese... mmmmm Tillamook....*smacks self out of trance* lol And thanks for the support. With you to keep me motivated, I know for a fact that I will never fall off this time. :)


Anyway, made dinner. I had a plate of spaghetti, and usually this is a very very bad thing.. normally i eat waaay too much, and then want more, but today, I only cooked as much as i was going to eat and then had a glass of water to go with it. My current problem is the two loaves of zucchini pinapple bread that I made that are sitting on the counter smelling up the house and just begging to be eaten... I grew my own vegetable garden this year, and I'm overrun with zucchini. The bread is for my family, but they are all currently at a wedding and so I'm alone in the house fighting the call of the bread... lol

...whew that was close, I got up from the computer and guess where I went? straight to the refridgerator...:banghead: I managed to catch myself before eating anything but man, Its annoying to catch yourself being bad. . . lol.

Am going on a walk/run tomorrow. I think that I want to set my goal for next june to be able to do a 10k run. Maybe a 1/2 marathon. We'll see where I am before I think about entering one. Am hoping the my bro will take me up on my offer to be a running partner.

Don't beat yourself up about going on auto-drive to the fridge. The important thing is that you're recognising your bad habits now and you had the willpower to stop yourself actually raiding the fridge. That's an achievement :)

I'm overrun with zucchini at the moment too (except here in the UK, we call it courgette) my grandad has a vegetable garden and always send me home with tons of fresh stuff whenever I visit. mmmmm, yums, I've been adding courgette to everything because I want to use it all before it starts to go manky, not sick of it yet though!
It's great you've been running, I want to start but I'm too scared to run outside. going to wait until I get a treadmill so I can run safely inside the house and not be self-concious that I can only run for 3 minutes (if that!) before I get horribly out of breath and have to walk. I think the ciggies may have something to do with that :doh:

I know what you mean! Sometimes it happens to me too, I walk toward the fridge, sometimes even open it and stare at what's inside for a couple of seconds before remembering I'm not supposed to! Ah, let's hope these bad habits will fade away sooner or later...

Thanks EXACTLY what I do! and its so frustrating! lol

Anyway, it was a labor day sale at our value village, (which is about a mile away) so instead of driving down and fighting for a parking space, my sister and i walked! :) I used my new shoes just to break them in and man, it was crazy how the "balance tone up" stuff on them actually works. my calves and legs were more aware of how I was standing, and I could feel the unused muscles working.

And I know i said I wouldnt get on the scale, BUT I forgot and just stepped on it this morning... and I was at 254... I'm not changing it, but it was nice to see. :) Official weigh in is on friday, so I'll be using that weight when I change my ticker. :)

Hope the weather is better where everyone else is. its raining cats and dogs here.

It's SO much easier to get into a good running routine when you have a partner! Hopefully he does, in fact, take you up on your offer!
 
Ok, so today my mom made burritos for dinner. MAN was it hard to not eat more than I should. I kept my sour cream intake waaaay lower than normal, and I only had one burrito. I will say however that knowing the leftovers are in the refridgerator is going to be reeeeeaaally hard to ignore... I swear it has a siren's call... lol
 
Ok ok ok ok... I know I said that I wouldnt get on the scale everyday... well I lied... :) I got on again this morning (I do think it is a habit that once I wake up, I get ready and in the process I get on the scale)

BUT... it said I was 253 now!!!!!! EEEIIII!!!! :) 249 is getting closer and closer!!! I had a burrito (leftovers from last night) for breakfast, but I kept it to one when I wanted two. I'm about to leave for work (cleaning stalls and taking care of horses at 3 different barns) so I will be burning lots of calories.

I managed to get my mom to come with me. Now she helps me with stalls, and even pushes the wheelbarrow up the hill now. Its amazing. she's lost 30lbs, and started backsliding when she went back to work (shes been on medical leave for stress) but I brought her to the barn a few times and shes back on track. I also think it is easier for her to be good when I'm being good. If i can say no to 2nds, or the sugary stuff, then she can too. :) By god I think we might actually be able to do it this time.

Now my brother still hasnt gotten back to me about going running, BUT my friend (the one who is getting married next june) says that at her apartment complex there is a small exercise room with weights, an elliptical, and a treadmill. So we're going to be workout buddies, and then I think we both are going to aim for entering a 10k run sometime next year. Thank god someone finally is going to start working out with me. I just dont quite have the motivation to go out and do it by myself. Plus, i dont exactly feel comfortable going out and running in our neighborhood.

Anyway, was good at lunch, and am still hungry, so I think I'm going to go drink a large glass of water to curb the hunger and then go play some piano. I'm thinking I'm going to play through my beauty and the beast book. :) I LOVE the movie/story/book. Have since I was a toddler. :)
