On the pursuit of happiness... <3

I will definitely try out the cauliflower recipe next week :)

You should do weight lifting on your own! I know its easier with someone there, but you'll be alright... Remember the first time you ever walked into a gym, I don't know about you, but I was intimidated by it, but then after a couple of weeks its fine... It'll be the same with weights. You could do weights on the machines as well.

Hope you had a nice bike ride. Note to self:Get a bike.

Thanks for the love! Nice to see some progress on my ticker :D

209.2 Today :)

The last month has been hectic. I broke up with my boyfriend, but we'd been hanging out, been stuck in this kind of relationship limbo :p However now I finally know that is done. It's really weird because we thought we were going to be together forever. I was the one who called it off, but after I took some time I decided I wanted to work on things. He did to, but unfortunately he had decided to jump in bed with someone else right after we broke up. I know it wasn't cheating since we were apart, but I just can't get past it. I have a feeling if we did get back together we'd end up arguing about it down the road and neither of us want that. He says it was a hurt, drunken mistake, but it still hurts me that he would move on so quickly after everything. *Sigh*

It's Canada Day Long Weekend here, but I have work, midterm on Friday, portfolio due on Tuesday and another midterm on Wednesday, so I don't think it will be a very festive time for me :p

Maybe lose some extra weight from stress though lol. Happy Losing Everyone!!!

:( Just remember that you broke up for a reason. It must be hard letting go once and for all, but BE STRONG! x

Good luck with your work! What subject are you doing?

Thanks for the support ladies!

Rainbow, I'm studying business and commerce. My midterms are on Business Law and Business Ethics. The portfolio is for Business Communications (ugh I hate papers. Give me a test any day over that!)

Oooh, wow! What are you planning on doing after?

I am the same... I absolutely hate papers too. I have done quite a lot about Ethics in design. Stupid Ethics :)

Hows the healthy eating going?

Been so long since I checked in! This week has been hectic what with midterms and all, but I wrote my last one yesterday :D and the weather has just been gorgeous; nice and hot and sunny.

Unfortunately I feel off the band wagon a little on the long weekend and ate some restaurant food and BBQ, which has set me back a few pounds.

Today I weighed in at 210.8 ... the elusive 'one'-derland is looming so close yet so far. Food for the week has been pretty good. I haven't been getting in enough exercise as I was cramming. Got some nice hikes planned for this weekend and I'm gonna get back to hitting the weights.

Food for yesterday:
1 cup coffee with 2 tbsp half and half
1 weight watchers english muffin breakfast sandwich
spinach salad with 1 tbsp organic dressing and 1 tbsp parmesan cheese, oven baked chicken breast, steamed brocolli

So yesterday I did the Grouse Grind for the first time of the year. The Grouse Grind is 1.8 mile hike up the side of Grouse Mountain 2'800 foot elevation gain. It's nickname is Mother Nature's Stairclimber. You hike up and then take a Gondola back down from the top.

Talk about an ass kicking! I was already feeling rough at the 1/4 mark, spent at 1/2, at 3/4 I was like hallelujah its almost over! Pretty sure I burned like 2000 calories lol I was sweating and panting and heart racing the whole time.

The thing that sucks is remembering last time I did it when I was in much better shape and feeling how much harder it is now, knowing that I let my fitness deteriorate :( But can't change the past and I'm determined to get back there.

My best time ever (so far) is 51:53 and yesterday it took me over 1 hr 20 mins... I don't have the exact time because I didn't swipe my timer card properly at the end. I bought a years pass though so I'm going to do it once a week all summer and see how much I can improve my time :)

I'm thinking it paid off because I weighed in 208.6 today :D When I first stepped on the scale it said 207.4 which made me feel giddy because its my lowest weigh in for months but then I weighed myself again a few times and it came in higher :p You big tease, Mr. Scale!

Yesterday's food:
2 coffees with 1 tbsp half and half cream each
1 weight watchers eng muffin breaky sandwich
1 feta and spinach flavoured turkey/chicken sausage with steamed brocolli

Oh my god, the grouse grind sounds insane! Well done! With a years pass you'll be beating your best time in no time at all.

We aren't that far from One-derland, we can be there by the end of the month :D I, too, fell from the bandwagon. In a collosal way :/ Eeeek.

I know its exciting! I like how our weight loss progess and goals is/are so in tune! Perfect weight loss buddies :D Let's go to one-derland together !!! Whoot whooot

207.4 Today :) Still going in the right directions I just wish things would speed up! But slow and steady wins the race I suppose.

Yesterday did another intense uphill mountain hike called the Chief. It was about 2 hours up and down. The view from the peak is unbelievable but it was a bit scary! My lower body is pretty sore today.

Yesterday's food:
1. Smoothie made with 1 spoonful plain greek yogurt, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup strawberries, and about a cup of spinach; 2 omega 3 eggs. Coffee with half and half
2. Grande starbucks vanilla latte - not the best but it was free as they screwed up my sister's first coffee so they gave us both. Gave me a nice little buzz for the hike though :)
3. 1 portion babybel gouda cheese, 1 bite of my sister's turkey guacamole sandwich from safeway
4. oven baked chicken breast, 1/2 cup of whole wheat pasta with a little olive oil and 1 tbsp parmesan cheese, 5 brocolli crowns, salad with 1 tspb sundried tomato dressing

We weigh exactly the same right now, I'm 208. This time next month, we can be in One-derland, and omg, I will be so glad when I'm there! In my mind, anything above 200 is definitely big-girl territory.

You have got the body of a super-fit person lurking in there somewhere, I bet you are going to have a really lovely toned figure when you lose the weight. Your exercise is crazy-hard!

Your food looks great, and everyone deserves a starbucks every now and then :)
