Glad to see you back! I look forward to reading all about your holiday.
I hope your daughter is well now and that you even got some good shopping in!

Thanks girls.:)
Well I had a great time. I didn't at any moment stress about my eating but just decided to eat what was on offer and worry about it afterwards.
I felt really ill for the first couple of days and had a temperature of 38-39 which would normally have put me in bed for days but somehow I managed to keep going and visited 34 people in 2 days. I felt a bit guilty about spreading my germs but everybody insisted that I still visit. The day after we arrived was my birthday and I went to see my auntie and uncle in the afternoon and they had arranged a party for me with all my cousins and typical English party food, sausage rolls, cheese straws, vol et vents etc etc. and a lovely big cake with candles. I really enjoyed it as it was so unexpected and I got to catch up with so many people that I hadn't seen for ages.
The diffence between this holiday and others is that I didn't feel the need to pig out. Normally we would eat all day between meals, donoughts, sausage rolls , pork pies chocolate etc but this time I was actually craving fruit and veg. We had lunch in a Pret a Manger and I got really excited when I saw leak and potato soup on the menu and fresh fruit salad!!!! I put on about 3 lbs rather than the usual 8 or 9 and that was mostly because the first few days everybody we visited fed us. Once we went up to London on Wednesday and had to eat out we ate much lower calories and walked all day instead of just sitting about chatting.
We had one English fry up breakfast but again instead of ordering the biggest one on the menu with extra toast I just chose a normal size and couldn't even finish it.
I think what helped was the fact that I never felt quite well the whole time we were there and hadn't really got much of an appetite because of it.
Now I just need to get back into exercising properly and I can start losing weight again.
Tomorrow is my daughters 21st birthday but we aren't having a party until the beginning of February as it's exam time at Uni. We are having a fancy dress party with about 80 guests so it should be fun. My friends and me are going as cave women with leapord skin dresses and ugg boots. I'll post photos after the party.
It's nice to be back and I've missed talking to you all. I just hope Jjjjay and Flumsey are back soon.
OMG that is a long post. Feel free to skim read it or just ignore it :)

First of all, thanks for filling us in on your fun adventures and your victories. Good job on the eating. Your new habits have really become ingrained, haven't they? It must feel so satifying to have that change be so evident. You can enjoy food, but you don't need big quanitities of it for comfort. I know that's how I feel, at any rate.

Your daughter's party sounds like it will be good fun. I am SO ready to see pics of you in a cavewoman outfit!

And...if you think you post was too long, I hate to think what you must think of mine lately. Some of them are practically novels!
At any rate, your was NOT too long at all and no way would I skim it. I'm happy to have some news from you!!!!

Welcome home!

Glad you had a lovely time :) The party sounds awesome, such lovely food! British party food is the best! No jelly and ice cream though, which is essential for English parties! I still have it at my parties and I'm 21!

I've emailed Jay so hopefully will hear from her soon..Would hate to lose her from the forums! Welcome home :D xxxx

LOL you're right the only thing lacking was jelly and icecream. We always have it at Christmas and often at family get togethers.
I emailed Jay as well so hopefully we will hear from her soon, it's not the same without her.
I forgot to say that my auntie bought me a pair of size 12 (size 8 US) trousers for my birthday and they fit me. I was so excited when they buttoned up easily. Because of my size F boobs I'm still a size 14 on the top but got measured and I'm a 36 F instead of 42. I didn't in my wildest dreams expect to ever be able to fit into size 12 trousers again. :)

That's awesome that you are down to that small of a size already! So I assume you bought some new bras while on your trip? I know sizes between US and UK are different for regular clothes like pants, dresses, and tops, but are bra sizes different too?

I got some new bras in a shop that Jay recommended to me where they give you a personal fitting and show you bras to suit your shape. I have never had such good fitting bras before and they give me a really nice shape and make me look a lot slimmer.
I've no idea about the sizing comparisons between the Uk and the USA. They don't even measure you in the shop but just try bras on you until they get the right size for you. They do really nice plunge bras which still give a lot of support and shape. I have often tried clothes on that were no good as the top of my bra showed but I'll be able to wear that sort of thing now. It's amazing what a difference a good fitting bra makes and I've had no painful strap marks since I've had them.

Oops I missed your post before Rox. It is great to have some sort of natural control over my eating so even when I decided not to worry about what to eat I mostly naturally made good choices and never bought anything to eat just for the sake of eating it. The weight that did go on was because of other people providing me with lovely food which I quite happily ate and thoroughly enjoyed.

It sounds like you did very well, considering. That 3lbs will be gone by the end of this week I would think. I laughed when you apologised for the length of your post. Blush. What must you think of some of mine! Hope you're feeling 100% now Val & glad that you had such a lovely time, xo Cate

Hey Val, just wanted to say hello. Thanks for the support you've given me and like you said, even though you've put back on a few pounds they will be gone so soon you will barely notice. Also, I couldn't agree more with you about good fitting bra's they make a huge difference. When I got properly measured I realised just how wrong my bra's had been and now...well, I am so much more comfortable. Got myself a really decent sports bra too now...so when I go to the gym, not only do I not knock myself out, but kinda weirdly feel more gym worthy, more official. It's weird lol x

Hey Ecky! Glad you're back! =) Craved fruits and veggies? That's awesome! And don't worry so much about the 3 pounds...maybe some was water weight or natural fluctuation again! lol The party you're having sounds like a lotta fun! Like that y'all are dressing up! Seems like a great idea! Will talk to ya soon missy! Gotta get to bed! :biggrinjester:
