On my way to 63kgs

Oh Ecky!! Have I been experiencing similiar things lately. My friends have all been complimenting my happiness, and then when they ask, I tell them it's bootcamp and working out! They all say they want to come. Until minutes before they have some excuse. Yet for dinner and social hour, they are very on point! Ayyyy Ayyyyy. LOL!!!

I'm telling ya!

Honey, boy do I hear ya! Isn't that ALWAYS the way it is??!?!? They are there for the fun stuff, but not the work!

But we love 'em anyway, don't we?

I'll add my belated best birthday wishes, too, Val!
Hope you had a good one!

BTW-Feb 4 will be here before you know it...and I'm looking forward to seeing you looking cute and slim all dressed in pink!

Sorry I haven't written for a few days but it's been a bit hectic. Thank you all for your lovely birthday messages :)

Flumesy - It brought a huge smile to my face to have you posting in my diary again. I so hope that things pick up for you soon and you get back to being that happy person that we all know and love :)

Lisa - That's a good idea about making them leave gym gear at my house.

soccerrox - the massage thing sound like a great idea but I have already tried that. We are supposed to be putting 2 euros into a pot everytime we exercise together to be spent on a spa day with massage at the end of the winter. I have just asked them all for their measurements for making the fancy dress outfits and they are all horrified about how big they are so maybe it will give them the kick up the bum that they need.

Alta - You are so right. If it involves eating or sitting around they always turn up!!!!

Rox - not sure about the cute and slim. We are making the dresses ourselves but we haven't got a clue so I don't think that they will be too flattering. I don't mind though it's just all good fun.

My daughter is going as Draculas bride. So she gets to look pretty in a wedding dress but will have blood on her neck, dead flowers and black accessories and some fangs.
Well off now to check up on a few diaries. Weight is still exactly the same. I need to exercise more and lose some but I'm happy that I'm not gaining.

It does sound like you must be very busy. Thanks so much for finding the time to catch up on my diary and leave such a kind comment. You're the best, Val!

And NOT gaining is great. In fact, I call it "stabilizing". I feel it gives your body more time to get used to being lighter. Myabe it's crazy, but I think those little plateaus are good for you. So, don't feel guilty about not losing constantly. You need a rest from time to time!

I actually feel prouder for not putting the weight back on than I do of the weight loss itself. I've lost weight before but always put it straight back on. I agree about the stabilizing period. I'm enjoying seeing my body getting used to this weight instead of the much higher one and now feel ready to lose more. I just get the feeling that if I had lost it all at once then it would have been more difficult for me to keep it off. These last few months have made me really sure that I won't ever be fat again.
I measured myself and I've lost
8" from my bust
5"off my waist
6 1/2" from my hips
My bust and hips have more or less reached target but my waist needs another 4 or 5 inches as all my fat seems to be in the stomach waist area.

Now that is a LOT of inches gone! You have every right to be proud of the hard work you've done. I think that the maintaining will be the true test of our lifestyle change, and you have proven that you have this thing down pat!

I'm very proud of you as well! You are SUCH an inspiration to all of us!

That's awesome Val :) What great losses!!

I've not emailed Jay again...I feel like I'm harassing her but I'm sad she's not come back yet. She said in her email she'd be back last weekend but she also said work is craaaaaazy. If she's not back this weekend I'll drop her an email again.

Take care, lady xxx

I miss her too guys! I owe my love of running completely to her. If I hadn't seen that she could do it, I would probably never have tried it myself.

Hope to hear from her soon!

I've just finished off the first dress. They are really tacky in 2 colours of pink with flowers and leaves. The dresses aren't very flattering as we aren't that great at sewing so don't expect to see me looking anything but shapeless :)
We've decided to call ourselves the 'Plump Pink Pixies Pre Pensioners Party' :D
I've got the family coming round today for Paella. It rained in the night but looks as though it will be ok now to cook and eat outside. I'm not going to cook dessert so there won't be any temptation. I'll just offer fruit.

I think you're so right Val, keeping it off's the most important thing. And the hardest!
Your party sounds like it's going to be so fun, hope you take some photos for us :)

Maybe you could add a belt to give the dresses a little bit more of a flattering shape? I've sewn my own Halloween costumes in the past and adding a belt made from a scrap of fabric has made a lot of difference.

What is Paella? Hope the weather cooperated for you!

Hey Val- I hope your little paella party went well! I guess the weather is really nice down your way? We certainly can't eat outside around here. lol!

I look forward to seeing photos of your costume. And maybe Tig is right- you could improve it with a belt? Seems a shame to go around looking baggy when you've worked so hard!

Tig a belt looked awful but I might just try and take mine in a bit. I don't mind looking a bit shapeless given the circumstances because we will look ridiculous anyway in dresses that should only be seen on a 5 year old and never on a middle aged woman!!!!! LOL
Paella is a dish made from rice, fish shellfish and meat and veg. It's is the a typically Spanish meal usually eaten with the family for Sunday lunch. I've attatched a photo.
I've now learnt to do it with leaner meat and less oil and it tastes just as good.
Rox the weather isn't that great but it's usually ok for eating outside when it's sunny if we keep our jackets on.
I've also attatched a photo of one of our costumes. I hope that nobody thinks that we are taking ourselves seriously!!! I'm really getting excited about it now, it should be so much fun :D
Jess I'll definitely take photos. Whether I upload them or not remains to be seen ;)

Mmm, I love paella. It's so damn hard to make from scratch!! I've tried many a time! I don't eat fish though so do it with chicken, which isn't as nice probably but still very nice on the few occasions I've managed to make it work out right!!

Have a great time at the party, Val!

The paella looks SO amazing!! Nom!!

The dress, on the other hand....it's got me ROTFLMAO!! Seriously! That is hilarious!

Sunny - Paella takes a lot of practice to make it good everytime. You wouldn't like ours though as I use fish stock and put prawn, mussels, squid and cuttle fish in it. Delicious!!!!
Rox - Hilarious aren't they. I can't wait for Heidi's friends to see us. The ones that know us well will really laugh but the ones that don't will probably laugh behind our backs thinking that we take ourselves seriously :D

I think the dress turned out pretty cute myself! Although you're right - would look better on one of my kids instead of a grown woman. What are they made out of? The material looks like plastic?

The material reminds me of the time I made a floor length wizard costume for myself out of this stiff, shiny silver material (some sort of nylon blend). I had a similar pattern to yours where I just took 2 triangles (HUGE triangles) and sewed them together, then cut the point off for my head to go thru, and made holes in the sides that I attached long sleeves to. I looked like a walking tent in the thing, and added a belt, but there was still SO much material there and it was SO stiff that it was hard to get it all bunched up around my waist. The material wouldn't 'bend' at all! You could hear me coming in that thing a mile away because the material was so noisy when it moved. Worse than corduroy pants (trousers) that rub together when you walk. Thank goodness I had this HUGE cape to cover most of it up with. Along with my pointy wizard hat and a full face mask that had an old man's face and long shaggy silver hair and beard, the custume won me $50 though in a Halloween costume contest.

Not sure what the material is made of Tig. It's sold a lot here for carnaval and fancy dress costumes and is very cheap. It's actually not as stiff as it looks in the photo but is very thin and flimsy. It's the shine that makes it look like that. It actually hangs all right.
