On my way to 63kgs

The dress that I wore was one that I bought in the sales at the beginning of the year. It was 170euros knocked down to 10euros :D and was my goal dress that I never expected to be able to get into but such a lovely dress so cheap was too good a bargain to miss. The zip stopped about a third of the way up my back and now it zips up properly and is even a bit loose.
Just went to wash it for the first time and found out why it was so expensive to start with, the outer layer is 100% silk so will need careful hand washing.
The summer sales are just finishing now so I'll go back to the shop in the last days and hunt for more bargains. I got another one last time that was 90€ down to 10€. I looovveee bargains. :)

Did you manage to get any pictures taken of yourself in your goal dress? If so, I am strongly of the opinion that you should post it for us to admire and praise. :) Hehe.

Bargains are a wonderful thing. Apparently I need to take a lesson from you because I am horrible at finding them. :D

wow eycky, sounds like yuo are having a great time lately - I'm so pleased that you managed to get a bit of a break and get out and enjoy yourself. The spa day sounds fab and all that exercise too!! Plus thin strappy dress W0000H0000.... tell me...did you get your mojo rattlin?!?! Sounds like it!!! hehehehe And wolf whistles from the hubby - now you KNOW you are looking good!!

Seriously though, weight plateau or no, don't lose sight of just how far you have come and just how much of an achievemnet it is. The next stage is fine tuning in terms of toning and the last few pounds of fat. WW isn't geared up for that bit - they are very simply, all about the mass loss of lbs because that's what sells. I can completely understand if it isn't working for you as a support system any more.

Anyhows, enjoy shopping in the sale for those bargains!

LOL there was one group shot taken but knowing me I was probably out of habit hiding behind everybody else. I'll see if I can get hold of it.
I honestly had totally forgotten how nice strappy dresses felt and have for years looked longingly at them in the shops. This dress has a sort of scarf thing hanging down the front and my intention was that if I ever fitted into it I was going to cut that off and make wide straps. I never in my wildest dreams thought that my boobs would ever be a size that didn't need to be supported by thick straps :D
My daughter and myself are real experts at the sales. The trick is to catch the last day or two. This means popping into the shopping centre most days when the sales are about to end until they knock them down to rock bottom price. By that time most people have given up looking and are just looking at the new stuff in. We once came out with 6 dresses for my daughter for 36 euros when the original price of each dress was between 70 and 90 euros. We always buy my daughter's jeans for 6 - 10 euros when they are normally 40.
Jay - I'm honestly not stressing about the lack of weight loss. I think it's because I don't consider myself on a diet. I agree about WW not working for me anymore but it's somewhere I can get a reliable weigh in. Also I feel a bit guilty for half abandoning some of the great people that I met there. So I'll probably go every couple of weeks for a while.

My sister is great at this too - and she loves shopping. It seems like she is always finding really great deals. I on the other hand hate shopping - get in, get what you need and get the heck out fast! My sister and I have a standing agreement now - if she's out shopping and finds a really sweet deal for me or my kids, she's to buy it! If it doesn't fit or I don't want to pay what she spent, we can always return it!

I think you hit the nail on the head on why she finds the deals and you usually don't. Deal hunting can be time consuming, sometimes you have to dig. It sounds like she enjoys shopping and probably spends more time doing it - if you spend more time at something you're definitely apt to get better at it. lol

That's my best advice for someone who wants to learn how to find good deals - take your time and look around. But then again, not everyone has the time to do this. :) So it all depends on the time you want to spend at it. For some people the time it spends to find the deals isn't worth the money saved. Other people have a little more time on their hands - so it all depends on the person.

I am SO impressed at your goal dress story!! Woohoo! And nothing like getting encouragement from the hubby. Always good ;) I bet you were a sight to behold that night!! Congratulations!

Well we went to the sales today and not a bargain to be had:( Everything says last few days but the prices are definitely not rock bottom so we'll try again in a few days.
Had a bit of lazy day again today. I'm a bit listless this week so have had to force myself to exercise because of the challenge. It's a good thing though because if it wasn't for the challenge I probably wouldn't bother. I get like this occasionally but get my energy back after a few days. I also find it more difficult to eat right when I'm feeling like this. Probably still worn out from my 4 and a half hours on Saturday :)
I'll probably go to Weightwatchers tomorrow to get a proper weigh in but I'm not holding out much hope of good results.

I'm having one of those weeks too sweetie, so I feel your pain.

What challenge are you referring too? (I might join too, I need some distraction!) :)

It's the 6 week challenge but it's too late to join. :( Tell Korrie that if anybody drops out you are willing to join in. Last time I tried to do a team challenge just about everybody dropped out.
I'm in Team Eclipse and we get points for weight loss and exercise as well as weekly mini challenges and because I've not been losing weight lately I have upped the exercise so as not to let my side down but this week I'm not doing so well yet. I need to start to catch up a bit.

I'm not living your dream Stacy, I'm living your future :D

I just loved reading that! Very profound and strong. Good one!

I had this all typed up yesterday and then my conection at the cottage died. Pissed me right off. So sorry it's late.

So happy to hear how good you felt in your new dress! And you're hubby's appreciation must have been flattering. Awesome! Hope you gave the dog a bone for noticing (so to speak)! lol

Sounds like you are doing great with the exercise too. Wish I had your gumption!

Take care and keep up the great work!

Oh I see. Have you tried adjusting your calorie intake? I know, for me, I have to adjust my calorie intake every 10 lbs or so that I lose to make up for my lighter size.

It sounds like a fun challenge but probably not one I could do, considering how my weight loss goes. I lose weight in "stalls and whooshes". I tend to hit mini-plateau stalls of 9 - 12 days with no weight loss at all (often even showing a weight gain of about 3 lbs), then suddenly I'll lose those three pounds over night and an additional 6 lbs or so over the next couple of days. I then will go a couple of weeks or so with steady weight loss then start all over again with a stall period.

That's been the pattern since starting my new healthy lifestyle nearly 4 months ago. I can't predict when a stall period will come though, so it makes challenges like that difficult to participate in. Knowing my luck I'll have a 9 - 12 day stall period right when I'm needing to show some weight loss. lol

It's physically impossible for me, given my size, to not be losing weight on the amount of calories I'm eating and the amount of physical activity I do. So I know it's just water weight, but it still messes with your mind, you know? lol

LOL ;)

I wish I had my gumption this week. It has completely gone. I feel like I did right at the beginning before I'd lost any weight. It seems a real effort to do anything this week.

Stacy - I think that I will have to end up adjusting my calories but don't feel like it at the moment. It is a lot more difficult in the summer as I have so many visitors. If I'm still not getting anywhere at the end of September then I will have a re-think. My scales actually showed a lb down this morning but they are very quirky so I'll see what they say tomorrow morning. It would be strange if the one week that I slow up I actually lose weight. For the first 4 months of losing weight I was very consistant and didn't go a single week without losing something.

I did use a reducing calorie plan for my weight loss. I started at 1800, then when I hit 184 lbs, I changed to 1600, then at 164 I went to 1400. Since I started exercising, I'm not rigid to that plan. I eat between 1400 and 1600 a day, most days. I just think when you hit a certain weight that it gets much harder to lose the pounds (or kilos) at the same rate. I know my weight loss has slowed, but it is still going down. :)

I'm already at about 1200 - 1400 most days and really don't want to go much if any lower. I think that I won't worry too much in August and then really get down to it in September when the weather cools and I get more active again.

Well after a week of utter laziness I finally went to the gym. Last night we had a thunder storm and now the temp has dropped by about 10ºC and the humidity isn't so bad now. I woke up feeling a lot more energetic and at the gym I did 2 1/2 kms cycling followed by 4 kms running and then did some resistant training. I feel so much better now. I hated feeling so lethargic like I used to feel most of the time 6 months ago.
I will try and fit something else in later in the day at home and it will make up for the lack of effort put in for the challenge this week.
I don't know if the lethargy was making me feel a bit depressed or if I was a bit depressed and it was making me lethargic but I feel a lot happier now. :D
Just had a lovely lunch of salmon, potato and peas. I mashed it all up together and poured some vinegar on. Lovely :)
