On my way to 63kgs

Yummy! I love rhubarb anything! It is sooooo tangy, makin my jowls cringe as we speak. And the millionaire shortbread....could it be even more tasty then regular shortbread?? Post the recipe when you have time....might have to put a new page in the xmas baking recipe binder.

Have a great day and I'm sure the extra cals your gonna have today will have negligible effect on your diet this week. You have done soooo well....sooo proud of you!

Take care!

I don't know if you have Twix bars in Canada but that's what millionaires shortbread is like. It has soooooo many calories. It's shortbread biscuit, with a layer of caramel and then a layer of chocolate.
I use this recipe:
The crumble was lovely. I made my guests take the shortbread home with them but couldn't resist keeping the left over crumble. I'm going to need a few extra hours in the gym next week. My husband has promised to come with me tomorrow so I'll start the week off well. :)

Hi Eycky! I've been gone a few days too, but am back and trying to catch up on journals.

Those desserts sound divine! My mouth is watering just thinking about them!

I'm sure you'll have a great week anyway - even with a bit of extra dessert!

tigpuggy - Nice to see you back as well, it's all starting to get back to normal around here.

Yesterday I went to exercise with my husband down at the sea. It was quite rough( for the Mediterranean) and we swam out to some bouys about 100m out did some exercises there and then swam back. We repeated this several times and it was tougher than going to the gym. Normally the sea is so calm that it's easy but yesterday was much more difficult and I feel quite achey today. I bought some webbed gloves to act as resistance while doing arm exercises.
Today I have some friends coming round with a couple of small children so I'll probably get into the pool with them and run and jump about and then go to the gym this afternoon.
I didn't do too well with my eating yesterday either as there were too many left overs from the BBQ the day before. I am really going to have to make sure that when we have visitors they take all the leftovers home or that I put them straight into the bin.
I've got family from England arriving on Friday for 10 days so it is going to be tough to eat well again.
The summer is coming to an end now which makes me sad in some ways as I love the summer but I will be happy to be able to exercise more outdoors and to have my sister and our best friend back to be able to exercise with them. I don't get to see much of them as they work such long hours in the summer but my sister has 4 months off in the winter and my friend has 6 months off so I get to see them most days :D My sister has been going to the gym regularly but my friend has not only not had time to exercise but has put on all the weight that she lost at the beginning of the year. I told her that I am running a boot camp in my house this winter to get her back into shape as she is so upset about ruining all last winter's efforts :D
I really need to get my eating back on track. I'm doing ok for maintanence but I need to lose the last few lbs.

Hey Eyckmans, I just realised how selfish I've been letting you follow my diary and not following yours. When I first started looking at this site, I started reading your diary. Then, just now I've read the last few pages, so patch it all together and I've got a pretty good idea of what's been going on! Haha.

How the devil are you? Sorry I dissappeared, I'm back now...promise! You're doing so amazingly well, those last few pounds ought to be scared of your winter bootcamp, I know I would be haha x

LOl that made me laugh, my fat being scared of my boot camp tactics but thats exactly what they are going to get!!!!

I need boot camp to start right now at my house. The kids (older 2 anyway) went back to school today so I'm hoping we get back into a routine quickly and I can get back to my healthy eating and exercise routine. The last week or 2 has been horrible for me. Like you I think I was doing ok maintaining, but this weekend I think I blew that away and gained some. I'm hoping that reading a few more journals will get me inspired and back on track!

Ah, that's so nice that you got to go workout with your husband. :) And it does sound like it was a good workout. You always have so many visitors! You're constantly being challenged food-wise.

Also, that's so great that you'll be able to spend more time with your sister and your friend soon. :D But I feel really badly for your friend. I can only imagine how I'd feel in that position, having worked so hard for a long time only to see all the weight come back. But I know you'll be there for her to help her lose it again. :)

I love working out with my sister and friend as we laugh and tease each other all the time. If it rains we put music on loud and dance like wild people and have such fun and get a good work out without even realizing it. :D
I ended up with 11 people at lunch time so had a spur of the moment BBQ. There were 6 kids and it was great watching them all splashing about in the pool. Most of them have gone home now but I really can't be bothered to go to the gym now so will do some aquagym later on and maybe go for a walk when it cools down. Tomorrow I will definitley go to the gym as I have arranged to take something to a friend there afterwards.

tigpuppy - I think that once the summer is over and we all get back into a more normal routine it will all get much easier. :)

Hey Eycky!!

The swim/exercise in the ocean sounds soooo awesome! How warm is the water?

I agree with the "once the summer is over" thing. Kids will be back in school in about two weeks.
The one thing I have to add....(and I'm sure most can attest to this)...the summer could have been way worse eating wise. I think most of us had some reservation and used some caution (even if it was just a thought in the back of our minds) to not go tooooo overboard. So I am sure we all benefited from this place even in our weakest moments.

I hope you are havin a great week and am lookin forward to you flashin (I mean posting) your progress! <still gigglin like a kid from your other post! lol> :biggrinjester:

Take care!!

LOL I was waiting to see your reaction to Jana's thread :D. I'm still traumatized by it all these years later.
I was thinking the same the other day when I ate too much. Normally during the summer I would be eating out and getting take-aways all the time but this summer it has been very rare and even on the days that I do over-indulge it is nowhere near as bad as it used to be. I still have a real fear of waking up fat and it was all a dream. I think that these forums definitely keep me in line. Hearing of other people's successes makes me realize that I can do it.
The sea water is really nice. It feels coldish for a few seconds and then it's wonderful. Our little pool is great. People kept telling me that as they are so small they get hot really quickly but it is actually colder than the sea.
I hope that you manage to fit in more time at the cottage before the summer is over :)

Here's the photo of my strappy goal dress that I promised to upload. My daughter is back in mini skirts :)
The zip of my dress would only go about a third of the way up when I first started and I has to lose 8ins of boob to do it up.
I need to buy some goal jeans to give me incentive to lose the last bit of belly fat. The reflection in my glasses makes my eyes look a cartoon character :)

You look so pretty in your strappy goal dress! And that's a wonderful color on you, too. <3

Look at you Eycky! Great smile! And the shoulders!!!!!!! Wow!

Just think how far you've come, in such relatively little time. Fantastic work!

I bet it won't be long for a jean pic! ;)

Have a great day and thanks for postin!

You always know the right thing to say to make somebody feel good about themselves :D

Yesterday I went to the gym and the air con had been mended that morning. By the time I got there it was broken again. Yesterday and the day before were the hottest days we've had this summer. I managed to run for 3 1/2 km and then felt as if I was going to die so I did some strengthening machines. I took a 1 1/2 litre bottle of water with me and it wasn't enough. My arms are getting stronger. I beat both my 13 year old nephews at arm wrestling yesterday much to their embarassment:)
I've been eating loads of fibre this week because of the mini task in the 6 week challenge. I didn't realize that I was eating so little fibre. I thought that oats were much higher and I'm annoyed that I have had to change them for bran, which I also like but not as much. I think that once this week is over I'll eat them on alternate days. Any way the change of diet has been sorting out a lot of problems that I have been having because of lack of fibre but too much fibre is causing other problems ;)

Hi eyckmans- love the photo. You both look lovely. Thanks for your visit to my diary & for looking out for me. That was very sweet of you xo Cate

:iagree::iagree::iagree::iagree:

I should have mentioned it earlier but I think this is the case of the proverbial "The apple definitely doesn't fall far from the tree" .

Both vivacious and gorgeous!

(I thought I posted this before but for some reason it didn't take!)
